      beat me to it.

That actually costs a lot more

Looking at ebay prices, $51 is actually a competitive price.

Still $51 is actually pretty expensive for what seems to be a low-tech device that only tells time.

      • OK there must be a trick here that I am missing, and scrimshaw is an experienced campaigner….what invalidates Pyramid's post?

From someone who has memory challenged inlaws so this does look helpful…$51 does seem to be taking advantage though.

To explain: Pyramids link takes you to this page

Looks like a clock being sold AU $10.50 Plus postage, however you'll notice that the listing actually has multiple items within it.

If you click the drop down box labelled 'color' to select the clock you wish to buy, each SKU has a different price

The $10.50 price on the listing refers to the cheapest item found on the stack of items for sale, which would be the black small clock with the blue backlight.

        • @scrimshaw:

Dirty tricksters!! Missed that as I was browsing only.

Thanks a bunch scrimshow……this is an interesting idea that I'd never thought of (multiple alarms in one day) has anyone for a link to a product that is actually fairly priced? (NOTE "fairly" not looking for "bestest price ever" necessarily.)

Holy sh!t $164 for similar here…this IS taking advantage!!

        • @havebeerbelywillsumo:

Maybe an Amazon Alexa or Google Home would be more useful, as you can set multiple daily alarms and have it repeat reminders to you.

Some of them also have screens e.g Echo Show and some upcoming Smart displays with Google Home enabled.

        • @havebeerbelywillsumo: It's a trick vendors use to to show up earlier in searches. Bit dishonest but it's done eBay wide on lots of stuff.

        • @scrimshaw:

Thanks again scrimshaw, I did appreciate the displau on the original product…..for older people that seems a damn good idea Still. again I didn't know that Alexa and Home could fill the bill so will explore.

Sincere thanks for taking the bother….and to Skinner as well, just saw the popup, yet to read the post.

  • $51 for this Clock even without temperture and humidity. Pass

    What is this, OzSpam?

The amount of Amazon 'deals' from brand new users just flogging their junk is staggering.

  • The words Dementia, Alzheimer's and Memory Loss are intentionally excluded from the packaging, making it a great gift.

Hahaha, they won't remember reading those words even if they appear. 😜

  • My mum started to lose her memory a few years ago. It sounds silly, but these sorts of clocks are a great idea for them, along with a simple whiteboard. The cost of the clocks is however outrageous - better off getting an old tablet and using that.

Many suitable apps like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fashmel.al…, which allows you to remotely manage messages/reminders……

  • Lots of the memory loss residents I work with have these and find them great. It saves the constant question of time, date, day, month etc that memory loss patients often get stuck in a cycle of. Of course there are other options but often families are willing to try anything and will pay top dollar and companies know it!
