  • Should mention that it is on 24 month contracts (if it is).

    • Good call! It is 24 months and I've updated the post.

      Thanks for pointing that out.

Hey Koob, any word on the desire Z? is it going to be a voda only?

    • Good catch.
They have previously had 3 months free on 12 months plans. Which if voda had signal would be a good deal. 24 months deal doesnt make it that great.

  • +7

wow someone forgot to mention vodafail!

  • OP should have included the cost as well.

  • and the cost to complain vodafail

time you spend on the phone cost more than 3 months free!

    • what I mean is time spend on the phone with their customer service team (on hold/ transfer around) not actual usage on mobile phone

      • In todays Herald Sun it says they are going to improve customer service….but it did not say they are going to close down the Indian call centre, so I guess they don't mean it when they say they are going to improve customer service.
Found this on the Vodafone website

  • For those interested in taking up the offer.

  • Hi Koob

Will this be still qualified for the moneyback offer (via MoneyBack CO Link)?

The HTC Legend is also Out Of stock. Any ETA of restock? this deal expires on 28th Feb)

    • sorry, I'm not familiar with moneyback offer.

Silver version of legend is available .. will let you know if I hear about black..

        Thanks for the response

I guess I will wait for the 12 months deal (i.e. HTC Legend for $29 in 12 months plan)

Not confident enought to move from Optus to Vodafone
So I guess you guys need to earn new customers with BETTER deals than this

        Cheers

I think it is a decent deal.

not attractive enough to get customers back to VodaFAIL.

  • +4

haha, vodafone, for 3 months you pay nothing but get nothing in return.

    Be Warned…………

I just came back from Melbourne - stayed in the CBD for a week and the internet via vodafil was unusable. It just times out or takes 5 minutes to load a page. I am now told even though they can't provide the service I can't exit my contract.

So be warned - current service levels in Melbourne (and I suspect other places) are woeful.

Just goole vodafone problems (or even look at their own website for their admission of how bad it has been).

I am now told even though they can’t provide the service I can’t exit my contract

Give TIO a call or visit their website and log a complaint then you'll smile again! :)

      • +1

That was my next step - but thanks for letting me know it actually might work. smiling

    • Who told you that you can't exit the contract? Have you complaint to the Telecommunications Ombudsman?
Edit…I should have scrolled down before writing that :)

Vodafone have had heaps of bad press lately, but I've been with them for 3 or 4 months now and had very few issues. I'm in Perth, and there was that dark day a couple months back where the whole Perth network went down, but other than that they've been fine.

Coverage isn't as good as Telstra, but you can't expect it to be. At times I get dropped calls, and 3G drops out from time to time, but it's never caused much of an issue. It's a lot cheaper than Telstra and for what you get, I still find Vodafone to be the best value.

I realise there's a lot of Vodafone haters out there, but just wanted to share my positive experience :)

Wish there was a 3 months free deal when I signed up! I did however get $10 off for the life of the 2 year contract, so I guess I can't complain.

  • any Brisbane Vodafone users here? can you share your experience?
    Thanks

    • Actually I live in Bris - so though my Melbourne experience was aweful, in Brisbane I find my data speed very good, and coverage generally is fine for me too.

  • Vodafail….aaaaaarrrrrggggghhhhhh

We got the HTC Legend deal at the end of last year
and the bullshit we have had to go through since is unbelievable!!!

Just today I had to make the usual 2 calls due to being charged the wrong amount, our so called free 3 months
had not been acknowledged, finally got it sorted BUT wait no it's still not correct!
I have to call again and go through and explain the entire friggin problem AGAIN!

Try and get anything checked, sorted, verified takes hours off your life.
Try and do just about anything online and it almost all thge time says they have a problem completeing the request
    to call customer care!!!! NOOOOOOOOO.

Shocking bloody shocking service and infrastructure!

    • man you think with all the talk they are doing the first thing they would do is beef up the call centres to deal with the issues, quick fix 1…

    • Try contacting their support team through twitter. They're a really helpful lot, and it really beats waiting on hold for over an hour to speak to someone who may or may not be able to help you.

      • might try that
mind you I actually got through on the second try today to an Aussie call centre.
but still managed to not fix the error 100%

        • trying to access the twitter page with my vodafone, ha fat chance
coverage is so bad, drop out after drop out!

    • you do realise that the 3 months free won't be the first 3 months but probably the 7th, 8th and 9th month or the last 3 so you don't cancel the contract

  • ok… i did notice some page do take long and load and other times its normal. in another theres ups and down right? isnt that the same all the the other network or is it a guarantee to get the best connection for lets say, Optus?

  • Don't do it people! It's not worth it to be stuck with vodafone, trust me! Dropped calls, Internet won't even load anything, no coverage even in cities. I was just released from 2 24mnth iPhone contracts. So happy to be done with them.

The good-ol 12 month deals were super great, and they do pop up once in a while. They used to to also include 3 months free and a further 10% off.

  • I got the HTC Desire HD on the 3 month free and further 10% off deal. worked out cheaper than buying the phone outright and it's free to unlock. You can get it if you're an nrma member, valid for 12 month contracts. http://www.mynrma.com.au/members/member-benefit/vodafone.htm

I found the service in my area was better with vodafone.. I swtched from Voda, to optus back to voda.Customer service is appalling though.

  • Oh man… I am a vodafone customer and I can't stand it. I previously signed up for the last 3 months free deal and really regret it.

Data performance is just utterly miserable, and it's making me miserable too. What fun is a great phone without data?

I can't even call vodafone up to complain as I am on hold for so long (hung up many times because the network drops my calls)! Thus I can't even go to the TIO as they say you need to resolve matters first before going to TIO.

    So sad…
