Air New Zealand is frequently rated one of the top airlines in the world in economy class.
This is a great price and opportunity to fly with them across the Pacific to the US - to LA!
Dates are a bit picky but many if you're prepared to travel soon in September, otherwise some in November and Feb next year too. Might just take some hunting.

Indeed, as long as you don't have to leave / go through baggage/customs (where the refurb is, looks awful), it's nice enough. Good views of the planes too :D
As of may they've opened up new duty free area but still limited food
I used to exclusively fly AirNZ to LA as they have a great product, but once they killed of the VA partnership (well points/credit earn outside of Aus/NZ), I've stopped flying them. I just stick with VA/DL now.

Auckland stop over is annoying! Prob better to wait for Qantas /virgin for similar price.
