Isnt it 5% from cashrewards for Wow?

    • +3

CR are doing 2% cashback. Maybe you're thinking of the 5% off gift cards?

      • So you get 5% of gift cards and use to pay you get 3.5% off an online order?
Online orders used to exclude gift card payment has that changed?

  • +5

All it really covers is the GST at Ali.

    • Exactly what I thought

    • +10

Better to cover it than not. More often than not unless there is a really deal chances are Aliexpress is cheaper on a day to day basis than my friends at gearbest, banggood, joybuy, geekbuying, zapals & LITB.

      • +4

Sure if you have something that is worth buying at their normal price. Always good to do a price comparison as Ali sales are as dodgy as they come with price jacking.

        • Yeah I have noticed that, this price expires in 2hrs then 2hrs later it expires in another 2hrs.

I use the alitools chrome addon then open a incognito window without any addons to do the actual purchase. This method hasn't failed me yet for cashback.

Any insight as to why the gearbests of the world don't seem to be as competitive anymore?

        • @No:

Any insight as to why the gearbests of the world don't seem to be as competitive anymore?

Why sell 100 units for $5 when they sell fine at $10. OzBargain really doesn't generate a whole lot of coin for these stores so they don't have a lot of reason to come here unless they're willing to lose a bit or get new customers.

        • We are too damn cheap for our own good by the sounds of it.

Perhaps we could settle on $7.50?

      Better than nothing, right?

    • Does the cashback calculation for Aliexpress include GST and shipping cost?

      • No that's excluded.

Hope Cashrewards matches today in time for the Aliexpress sale, I find they track better via mobile/app

    • does it track through the app too?

      • Pretty sure mine have worked..

      • I noticed that recently, but I’ve never had a problem. Guess we’ll see when my latest purchases are cleared (or not cleared) in a few months.

It’ll be a shame if they’ve canned it for good because then we’ll need to figure out if it’s better to use mobile or desktop for better pricing.

        • Definitely the AliExpress app from GPlay/iTunes and not their mobile site?

        • @Clear: 100% definitely the app on iOS, I followed the instructions that TA posted in a thread once. I pretty much use the app for all my Ali purchases

Edit: these are the instructions he posted last year. Hopefully he can confirm. https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/27551/48680/capture.jp…

        • @Chickenleg: Thanks, I'll have to try this! I've been calculating if the mobile discount is better/worse than the CR cashback… This will make it easier haha

    • Any updates on whether CR will match?

    • +1

Gonna wait 1 more day to see if cashrewards also doubles their cashback

Isn't Shopback a scam? Plenty of people here who think so.

    • Hey picklewizard,

We're not trying to scam anyone. If anybody has issues we're more than happy to help - just send an email over to [email protected].

Don't help me - help these people. That's after like 10 seconds of searching too.

Curious as to your view on this though. Seems that things are randomly denied unless people make noise. Is this your business model?

        • Not sure what you're saying we're denying, but our business model is based on an affiliate marketing model and all about people getting their cashback. To keep it simple, we get paid a commission on purchases that people make when we refer them to our partner stores, which is shared back as cashback. If someone doesn't get their cashback, then we weren't paid either.

Of course, hiccups can happen, but most importantly reach out so we're aware of what's going on and we'll do our best to provide a solution.

Shopback isn't meant to be a scam but it's useless for me. My first purchase from Aliexpress wasn't tracked and they said haha tough luck, we don't investigate, if it didn't track then you get nothing.

Cashrewards is almost flawless and doesn't miss tracking. If they do, just lodge a ticket and you'll get it 100%.

That may be your experience, but not mine.

I've used CR successfully on many occasions but the one time I did a $150 order on Ali it mysteriously didn't work. I couldn't even lodge a ticket because of some reason that I forget.

Also not my experience with CR. Made a very large order with Ali (~$1,000). Was tracked but couldn't get anywhere with customer service. Had to give up after several emails back and forth as they claimed the sale had been tracked by another marketing company (?) but wouldn't tell me who.

      • Hey supersabroso,

There are a few common reasons as to why transactions may not track in general, coming down to using unlisted coupons, third party promotions, sales being attributed to another channel (Google, Price Comparison Sites etc), browsers (ad blockers, cross-site tracking).

But anyhow, send us a private message with the email address linked to your ShopBack account and we'll be happy to take a second look into this.

      Cashrewards anyday over ShopBack.

    • Definitely not a scam. I've met the the team. Cashback takes longer than Cashrewards to process but they will be processed eventually. Just gotta be patient.

  • Got my cashback confirmation from ShopBack.

Cashback confirmed was 5% not 10%.

    • Hi crazycs,

Could you send over a private message with the email address linked to your ShopBack account? We'll have this fixed for you.

      • Just an update here, we've looked into this for crazycs and there are no issues with the rates. There was just a bit of confusion because multiple quantities and items were purchased.

For clarification, each item purchased from AliExpress will show as a separate entry. So if you buy 3 things in a single transaction, you'll see 3 cashback entries on your account.

        • I think it's better if you let the user in question respond with the update next time…..

Yeah it's quite confusing. I bought four items in one transaction but the cashback confirmation came in two seperate emails, 20 minutes apart AND the cashback for all four items wasn't confirmed on the website until this afternoon while we were messaging. I had checked the website earlier this morning and only two of the cashbacks were listed.

Any reason why the cashback was split into two confirmations?
With CR it's always pretty clean and everything gets picked up in one transaction.

        • @crazycs:

We just wanted to put an update/follow up here in advance in case others were wondering the same thing.

We're not exactly sure why there's been a lag given you've purchased all 4 items in the same transaction. But thanks for raising this, as we'll have the tech guys investigate this to make the experience cleaner and less confusing.

        • @gotyourback:

Great, thanks for the follow up.

Shopback keep requiring me to login everytimes I visit them and Cashreward does not. I have 2 large transactions which were not tracked because I assume it was like cashreward auto login.

    • Agree, it is a bit annoying.

    • Hi seibmoZ niagraB,

Happy to help you out here. Can you let us know more about these transactions? Feel free to drop us a PM or a message to [email protected].

Understandable that the account login process can be annoying but we do thank you for raising this as we have given feedback to the relevant teams to make this experience more seamless.
