Get $20 off Popular Lume USB Charged Portable Burr Grinder at Baristawarehouse until August 31

As the world’s most compact electric grinder, the Lume Portable Coffee Grinder isn’t just convenient, it’s the beginning of the end for manual coffee grinders. Featuring stabilized conical ceramic burrs, a USB rechargeable battery that can grind 50 cups of coffee, and a built-in light, it’s great for use at home and in the great outdoors.

The grinder’s conical ceramic burrs are held tightly in place by a stabilizing cage. This eliminates burr wobble, which results in more uniform and consistent coffee grounds - an essential for a balanced brew. The burrs can be adjusted to grind coffee for french press, espresso, and everything in-between.

The Lume is outfitted with a battery that can be recharged via Micro-USB. At a full charge, the device can grind coffee for 50 cups. The full charge can also be used to power the high-efficiency 150 lumen light for 20 hours. Now you can keep your space illuminated wherever you go.

Weighing just 624g and taking up a mere 22.4cm x 8.3cm, the Lume Portable Coffee Grinder is a great piece of gear for travel coffee lovers.

LUME PORTABLE COFFEE GRINDER FEATURES
Micro Electric Grinder - Sized like a manual grinder, powered by electricity.

Stabilized Conical Ceramic Burrs - Stabilized burrs reduce wobble to encourage incredible grind consistency and precision that most hand grinders can’t match.

Use For Any Method - Suitable to be used for french press, espresso, and everything in-between.

50 Cup Rechargeable Battery - A full charge via Micro-USB gives power for 20 hours of light or 50 cups of coffee.

150 Lumen Light - Why add a built-in, high-efficiency light? Because it’s awesome.

  • ceramic burrs and no photo of how they are stabilised… I can't imagine this would be very good for espresso

    • yep.. and pretty close to a breville smart grinder sale price… so only for those who need a portable, powered grinder.

Um yes being portable it is mainly intended for portable use (like when you're travelling). There are no other battery powered burr grinders on the market that I am aware of.

yeah I imagine this, a fire kettle, and a few aeropress pumps could upgrade family camping trip coffee without the RSI

    • The Kickstarter page shows it a bit better:
      https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/pennli/lume-a-professio…

But are you travelling with an Espresso machine?

      • Aeropress, nanopresso, handpresso. Plenty of options for travel…

        • My thoughts were that not many would travel with a full Espresso machine, so whether it can grind for Espresso would not be relevent. That said for family camping I go with a Smart Grinder and a Kitchenaid Syphon if it's a powered site, so I'm not exactly travelling light. I use a HandGround grinder and an AeroPress for non powered sites or work travel, so this could be a good replacement for the grinder.

        • @OZB Al: the nanopresso creates 16bar espresso shots. It's a pretty cool device and makes better coffee (IMHO) than the aeropress. Likewise the nomad and to a lesser extent the handpresso are good for espresso when travelling. I've used the handpresso, aeropress and am sticking with the nanopresso.

The biggest problem in my experience is hand grinding fresh beans esp if you enjoy more than one shot or make for others. A powered grinder could be a godsend. Though you could always attach a motor or drill to some hand grinders…
