I’ve been eyeing this bad boy up for a couple of weeks now - and with this 20% off deal, it’s the cheapest I’ve seen it in Oz delivered.

Has fantastic reviews across the board both for enjoyment of the build, and the end result.

    That's a pretty amazing set

  • Still working on bucket wheel. Keep moving houses before I can set up to continue. T.T

    • still haven’t opened bucket wheel.

Finished mine the other week, have the Chiron waiting to be built, this'll be my next set I think. :D

wanted to buy the Chiron but yet to see a killer deal that would justify another unopened box of lego.

        • @garage sale:
Holding until I see the Chiron is at ~$375ish.

  • Paid $300. Good price

  • I could almost sell the unopened Volvo loader and get this instead. Tempting.
    Nice find.

  • Great price for this set.

  • Good price for this particular product but this retailer is one of the worst offenders of price jacking on eBay.

For the majority of items, the Ebay price, which supposedly is offering 20% off, is even more expensive than the price on their website. That is blatant misleading and deceptive conduct on both the retailer and Ebay's part.

    • Their ebay price includes the cost of fees and, more importantly, the cost of postage. That means any percentage discount also reduces the cost of delivery.

    • I do find their ebay prices offendingly higher than RRP, but I assumed what Max Power said when I noticed their actual website had more normal prices. They factor ebay fees etc into the ebay price. I don't like it, but whatever.

I still will buy from them (or anyone really) if the final price I pay is a good enough % below the RRP listed on Lego's website, regardless of what the 'starting' price.

  • Anyone know of a reasonable price on the lego technic bucket wheel excavator

    • $279.99 + delivery (looks like $10 to Perth - assuming your profile location is correct)

I was thinking of that set, but reading some reviews there seems to be design issues. I can't get references for that right now (work), but i'd advise you to look into that first.

THIS particular set looks amazing - but a nightmare if one thing is wrong. How densely packed is the damn chassy?!?!?!?!

  • Wouldn’t say it’s got across the board good reviews…this model does some things well (height, load capacity) and other things not so well (stabilisers don’t touch the ground, no new pieces, slow motor).

    I’m a big fan of this guy’s reviews…

    But each to their own.

  • Your title and thumbnail say @ Hobby Warehouse, but when I click the link it takes me to "madeforsomeonespecial*mfss"

  • The original listing sold out. I got the last one. Well, I hope I got the last one, and won't get my order cancelled…

So now if you look up the top it says rather small 'the selected item is out of stock' and eBay then fills the page with another listing instead.

    • Ah, yes, it says "Out of Stock" now. Didn't notice that before - probably should have refreshed before posting.
      Thanks.

    • Plenty chance to buy this later. It’s not like they are limited edition.

      • Maybe not, but they are relatively thin on the ground right now. Most department stores had them listed at launch, and have since either gone out of stock or pulled the items from their website.

They'll eventually become a little less popular and there'll be more stock available, but by then my reason for buying might have passed.

    • Alas "I have been informed by our warehouse team that we are out of stock of this item. I do not have an eta for new stock. Would you like to receive a refund? I apologise for any inconvenience."
