Upgraded, redesigned, and filled with features, the Lumix DC-GH5 Mirrorless Micro Four Thirds Digital Camera from Panasonic provides an outstanding imaging platform for shooters who demand some of the best video and still photography quality they can get in a single compact camera. At the heart of the camera is a 20.3MP Digital Live MOS sensor and a newly developed Venus Engine processor, which both offer dramatically improved processing times over its predecessor. This enables the ability to record 4K video at up to 60 fps, 10-bit 4:2:2 internal recording with select settings, Full HD video at up to 180 fps, 12 fps continuous shooting, and sensitivities up to ISO 25600. Also, the camera features built-in 5-axis sensor stabilization, which can work with certain lenses to activate Dual I.S. 2 for highly effective shake correction that can compensate for up to 5 stops of shutter speed. Other improvements include a speedier and more accurate Advanced DFD autofocus system that can lock on in just 0.05 seconds, as well as 6K PHOTO at 30 fps and 4K PHOTO at up to 60 fps.

  • Awesome camera awesome price. Thanks op!

  • great camera and deal….. can't decide to get this or the GH5S…. this is better for my wallet but……. :)

Same dilemma! The 5S has much better low light capability, which few other cameras have (with 10bit 4k). The lack of IBIS is disappointing but not sure enough to overcome that low light tech. Then again, the Black Magic Pocket Cinema 4k will ship in Sept with supposedly even better low light features… ugh

There is a much cheaper speed booster by viltrox which paired allows for lower aperture ratings and better low light performance.

Although if you only do film, the gh5s is better, but no ibis and 10 megapixel stills is not great if you don't have another stills camera.

If lowlight is a major concern, you can always get a speedbooster and noise reduction software like NeatVideo, which will allow you to gain a couple of stops of light. The GH5 is more than capable if you're lighting your shots anyway and if you're doing photography as well then it's a no brainer to get the GH5 over the S. Honestly, you'd be better off spending the difference in price on a good lens.

      • Making that comment you assume the poster doesn't have good lenses or a speedbooster (though you're talking non native lenses there). There is no comparison IMO between a low light camera with large photosites and one that isn't built for it, noise reduction notwithstanding.

  • I have a question guys.
T&C's for the $200 EFTPOS Card Redemption say Claims are only open to Australian residents. I'm from New Zealand and I would have the camera shipped to my Girlfriends place in Sydney while i'm here. Do you reckon I could still apply for the EFTPOS Card? The receipt will have an Australian delivery address yet a NZ billing address which I need for TRS.
    Thank you.

  • Damn I paid $2700 for the gh5 and 12-35mm kit just less than a month ago!
