Just think that this deserves its own post. For 7 piece of Global knives this is a pretty good price.
I already have a set of Globals but would have jumped on otherwise. Remember to apply the voucher to get the price!

This is part of Afterpay Day sale for 2018

Yes - but I'd spend my pennies on just the 20cm chef knife. You'll probably find that you use it for 90% of the time and the rest just decorate/clutter your bench space.

Very subjective matter really, but I myself would rather have 6-9 variations on Chefs knives… though a Santoku type must be part of the said collection.
I find that many (Chefs) knives have their own personality… some are great with some foods, some are great with others and vice versa.
        Just my opinion!

        • I pretty much agree - I've got several chef knives (incl. French, German & Japanese) and use them for different tasks. Rarely use anything smaller than 20cm.

  • I think you can sometimes pick these up on eBay for around this price too.

    • petersofkensington is selling it for $355 on ebay + 20% code PLATES = $284. So $299 not a bad price if you missed out this week on the PLATES code.

  • Global Kabuto Knife Block 7 in White is the same price: https://www.house.com.au/product/global-kabuto-knife-block-7…

    • The white set seems to be $284.25 Delivered @ YourHomeDepot (House's Sister Site) with AFTERYAY for anyone looking.

There is absolutely no need to spend this sort of money on a set of knives! Nothing wrong with $5 knives from Big W!

(Picks up a friend's knife, slices through a tomato like thin air)

    Ohhhhhhh….

I just grabbed this https://www.robinskitchen.com.au/baccarat-artisan-knife-bloc… for $75. Not the best by far and not comparable but I bought a honing steel and it should do the job. Plus I love the hand feel. I can't believe I've spent so much going to restaurants because I hated cooking! A great knife makes it a breeze!

  • Use Qantas Mall for 5 points per $1 when you buy it too. Effectively a 5% discount on top.

Though i have not used it with the promo code.

  • I know Global is a great brand, but is this particular knife set a great quality set of knives?

Kinda like how Sunbeam/Breville make great consumer coffee machines but also have their fair share of dud models that no-one would recommend.

    • It’s hard to mess up when you basically have one line of knives using one grade of steel. They’re all pretty consistent. Global isn’t like shun and shun pro’s. But even standard shun knives are very decent
