$250 Qantas Travel Credit & 20,000 Bonus Qantas Points with The Qantas AmEx Premium Card ($249 Fee; Exclusive to The High Life)

11

The High Life and American Express have teamed up to promote an exclusive offer for the Qantas American Express Premium Card – the first special sign-up offer for this card in over two years.

By applying through The High Life, new card members can get 20,000 bonus Qantas Points and a $250 Qantas Travel Credit, which is significantly better than the standard 30,000-point sign-up offer for this card.

The $250 Qantas Travel Credit completely offsets the card fee, practically making the card free for the first year.

Other card benefits include:

  • a high points earn rate of 1.25 Qantas Points per dollar spent on everyday purchases
  • two Qantas Lounge passes each year after selected Qantas spend
  • complimentary domestic and overseas travel insurance
  • up to four free supplementary cards for family members over 18 years of age
  • complimentary premium membership to Qantas Wine (worth $99)

…and much more.

This is the first time that Amex has offered a Qantas Travel Credit with this card and it’s a great opportunity to shave $250 off the cost of a holiday. The Qantas Travel Credit is easily redeemable online at American Express Travel for a Qantas flight (any flight with a QF flight number).

To be eligible for this introductory offer, you must not have held a credit card issued directly by Amex Australia in the last 18 months. Note that you are eligible if you’ve held an Amex card issued by a bank, a David Jones Amex Card, or if you're a supplementary cardholder on someone else’s primary card account (including a corporate account).

Minimum income: $40,000 per year
Annual fee: $249 (fully offset by the travel credit in the first year)
Minimum credit limit: $2,000

This offer is only available via The High Life website using a specific link until Thursday 30 August 2018.

  • $249 annual fee? no thanks. not keen forcing myself to spend $250 with Qantas to "offset it".

    • Hi JetBombat, the card perks are quite valuable, so it really depends on whether you'd like things like high points earn rates, lounge passes, Qantas Wine membership, travel insurance etc. Plus there are other Amex card member benefits to enjoy, like Amex Offers (regular discounts with merchants).

    Card fee in title please

Much better offer with most major banks.

  • Horrible offer. Try again.

  • Yeah not a great deal.
Can get other cards with no annual fee with minimum 40k points.

It's not a terrible deal, but I can't see anything that makes it different to most of the other cards now

  • "The $250 Qantas Travel Credit completely offsets the card fee" is too opinionated. American Express Travel doesn't offer the best prices and it can't be used across multiple bookings.

um. Why would you take this version, when you can go direct and get the same card, but with 30K points?

(I'm ignoring if the card itself is good value - this 'deal' doesn't seem to be a deal - it seems this deal is 10K less points, but you do generate a commission to The High Life)

That one doesn't come with a $250 travel credit?

      • my bad - when I looked I was sure I saw that in amongst the other bits.

        I guess I can't kill my vote/comment now.

  • Meh..

  • This card is for The High Life obviously, not for The Bargainer Life

  • is the travel credit to be used annually , as in Jan to Dec or annually as in time of applying + 1 year

    • Hi, you only receive one travel credit, and it's valid for 12 months from card approval. There's no travel credit in future years.
