Worth noting that these are tubular wheels, best saved for race day.
More expensive than a new set of car tyres
Still cheaper than a house though.
Can't sleep in a bike though
@mikaelkn: Thanks for backing me up, those videos show people sleeping on the ground, not in their bikes.
How much are they usually?
Wow…more expensive than the set of 4 x run flat Mercedes tyres.
Priceless for passion.Mercedes make tyres?
Continentals
I don’t get why people care about the sound of hubs. I ride MTB and BMX and at the skate park, everyone is always circlejerking over who has the best sounding and/or loudest hubs.
“Sick hubs, brah! They are loud as! What you runnin’?”
Sorry but this is a much better deal
https://www.extremeoutdoors.com.au/p/atomik-250cc-fury/250FU…
Dot know why the down votes… this needs to be a deal of its own… better deal in my eyes too
the hubs on the atomik are awesome, comes with a free engine and seat too.
Absolutely! Two wheels for $2000? You can get them free, work while bikes on the curb in every suburb in Australia every week.
Not for cyclists that dont give a sh1t about motorbikes it isnt
Bahaha
Seriously though, if you want MAD sounding hubs just buy these it’s much cheaper
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/396400Damn! My Hope 4 hubs are already the talk of the skate park… but now, I shall be king! :D
Can I lock the hubs?
and people complain about the cost of an iphone x , google pixel 2 or the new samsung note 9 ….all cheaper than a set of bike wheels.
An iPhone is also cheaper than a Rolex. Shall we use it as a benchmark for everything?
Nah, the Atomik 250 pit bike is now the defacto “banana for scale” when it comes to judging if a deal is good…
People complain about the cost of iphone x, pixel 2 and the note because the prices are too damn high.
They'll no doubt improve your health and wellbeing much the same too.
The mamals will compare who has better sound out of their wheels. Cool.
the one thing I really struggle with when it comes to wheels is that no one will let you try them out.
how am I supposed to pick a set of wheels if I have absolutely no way of getting any idea of how much of a difference it is going to make?
(plus if I want to shave weight off my setup - there is something else that is round that needs to be dealt with first!)Cycles galleria in Melbourne used to (and suspect still does) but not like any store will have every variety of wheel for sale
thanks for the suggestion
Do you come with the Wheels OP
If something that is normally $4000 is able to be sold at half that price and still make a profit, I question how much these are truly worth.
Similar dimpled wheels from China are over $1000.
And they are like a few years old model, not quite as good, can't be sued if they break your neck.So add up all the costs of a real brand and the $2k is probably break even point.
Then consider the huge marketing and sponsorship costs required to achieve premium brand reputation.
The bargain is Chinese wheels. But you take your chances, nobody thinks you are cool and they won't really have any resale at all.
Next step up is the Chinese wheels the big boys like Wiggle put their branding on. A bit more trust.
Do they come with a bike?
