I find after 3 months bottled the taste really improves, if you can wait that long.
I've left some for 2 & 3 years and they are even better.

    I can confirm this

    I can't confirm this, I have failed Sensai. <bows respectfully>

also cheaper with discounted Wishcards <bows respectfully>

The APA is a very good foundation for a lot of 'kit & kilo' recipes, IMHO a tad plain by itself but with very little extra work a grain steep &/or hot addition (in kettle, during ferment or even via hop tea at bottling) elevates it up to the level of your average commercial 'craft' beer.

I've still got ~30 750ml bottles from my last 2 brews using it in my cupboard and a couple of APA kits still from the last time DM's had them on special.

Very good buying at this price - though try using an all malt recipe rather than the 'brew enhancers' significantly superior for just a few dollars more.

Also $11 on DM ebay store, but probably easier to come by wish gift cards rather than ebay.

Had good results with the Australian Pale Ale and the Canadian Blonde using raw sugar rather than white sugar or dextrose.
I think there's a fair bit of malty/molasses flavour to raw sugar and it's the best way to enhance the brew base without increasing cost.

The Mexican Cerveza makes a great lawn mower beer. I’m too stingy to buy brew enhancers so I just use white sugar, which I first ‘invert’ by boiling in the presence of an acid. I find this produces a cleaner taste.

Quantities I use with a 1.7kg tin to make 23L:

    800g white sugar
    400ml water
    1/4 tsp cream of tartar

I just noticed that DM's have Muntons Beer Kits for $21.90 shipped, online only.
    Has anyone tried these?

I’ve tried the wheat beer. I have a batch that’s 1.5 years old and the taste has improved significantly over that time. I would recommend it, it has a light malty flavour and a very creamy head, quite impressive for a brew made only with invert sugar.
