[Pre-Order] Xiaomi Mijia Smart Toilet Seat / Washlet (AU Plug, English Sticker & Melb Stock) $254.95 Delivered @ Shopro

1220

Please note, Australian stock has now sold out and this item is on pre-order. Stock will be in Australia within the next 2 weeks.

Greetings everone, Shopro have decided to run this product at an excellent price for the first time! I believe this is the cheapest so far for this, beating out their previous eBay plus deal, and there's no need to have eBay plus this time or use the eBay US hack! I don't think you could even find it cheaper from overseas.

There is currently 100 in stock ready to ship, but Shopro have advised me that 320 more are on the way but will arrive in 2 weeks time, so if you miss out on the initial batch, there is still an opportunity to pre-order for that delivery :)

In my experience, Shopro/Gearbite have excellent delivery times, and are extremely helpful for any issues you may have with your purchase.

People get super freaked out about stuff touching their bum, but I wish every toilet on earth was a bidet. What other part of the body would you get shit on and be happy enough just wiping it a few times with paper?

  • +9

I own 3. Fantasic unit. Almost tempted to buy a spare for when i travel…

  • +22

While I can't comment on this particular unit, I've owned a bidet for the past year or so. I bought one which bolts on underneath the existing toilet seat for $30 and is connected to hot/cold water lines.

It really is worth every penny. You save so much on toilet paper and on those days when you're constipated, it really gets the pipes unclogged (as you can use it as an enema without actually inserting anything up your bum). After you're done, your arse is as fresh as a mountain stream.

I am never going back to toilet paper again. I don't miss wiping dozens of times for the 'poop marker' effect to stop.

I'll probably be buying the SmartMi unit when I replace the current bidet (it's leaking due to it being a cheap Chinesey thing).

    10/10 would recommend.

    • +1

Can also recommend non-smart Sense Bidet CB101 (~$50) on eBay, been using it from the last 5 years, no problems whatsoever.

      • Nice try, bizwin-korea

        • +3

You're welcome and thanks for your first comment on OzBargain.

        • @batrarobin: does it have a self cleaning function too?

        • @DerKaiZeRs: No it isn't very fancy; it's just a mechanical bidet.

      • I don't have the same model, but i bought a cheap mechanical bidet and the minimum pressure is way too high.
My next one will be a xiaomi mijia / smart bidet once i move out.

    • I bought one of those best-selling ones on Amazon. Water fittings didn't match what I could find at Bunnings, so it's sat in the box for a year or so. I am still one of the uninitiated :(

      • +1

        Buy this for your initiation:

        https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/KOREA-SENSE-BIDET-CB-101-COLD-Hy…

Been using it from the last 5 years, still works as new.

        • That's pretty much what I've got. The fittings don't match my toilet, or what I've seen at Bunnings, so I'm stuck.

        • +1

@t3chshopper: Hey I am pretty sure I have seen it at Bunnings in plumbing section. Basically you need the through-and-through fitting with a little tap-off to connect your bidet's 1/4" flexi tube. I will see if I can find you the link for it, it's pretty cheap to buy.

    • -2

So you cannot buy Australian? ah right we are importing brains but don't know how to use it.
Cheap Chinesey probably you also paid cheap $

    • It takes like 20 seconds for the warm water line to start turning warm, and that's with the faucet turned up high. Should I expect ice cold water sprayed onto my bum with this thing on a cold night?

      • No. If you read through the features you'll find that the seat heats the water.

    • +1

But aren't you using toilet paper to dry off after the spray?

      • +1

Needs a collaboration with Dyson's airjet.

        • Can Glen20 get in on that collab??

        • +1

          @Kangal: and WD-40

  • +7

I'd like to get one, but having to get a power point installed into the separate toilet would probably cost a fair bit, no?

    • +10

This is the only reason I haven't bought one.

    • At first i used an extension cable that went under the door..then waited till i had a few electrical jobs around the house

    • +1

Shop around for a contractor. I've finally found one who does excellent work for very reasonable prices. Cost me $270 for him to install 3 power points, relocate one power point (a tricky one in Besser brick) and install an IXL bathroom light (that I bought separately).

  • Any idea if they will fit on most toilets? And legalities in installing. Mainly from a plumbing point of view.

Obviously also have to have a power point beside the toilet which is rare unfortunately.

    • -8

i have one, the thread on the included filter is standard sizing for mains pipe and threaded pipe to cistern but my plumber told me the connector from the filter to the seat is not to regulation for Australian use.
so if fitted yourself and it failed insurance may be a problem.

      • whats with the negs? just advising what my plumber told me(he didnt fit it). He advised me to turn off the mains water when not in use.

  • +2

Stupid question but where does the water come from? Do you need to connect it to the plumbing?

    • +6

I believe it requires a T Diverter installed at the toilet water supply valve.

      • +7

My toilet flushes with grey water, I guess I'm SOL? lol :(

        • +1

          First world problem!

People around the world struggle to get water and here to clean your bum you need fresh & drinkable water.

        • It says in the description that the external cotton filter will filter out sand, dirt, rust and worms so you should be right, just spray a can of deodorant down there after or stock up on the Sorbent flushable wipes that are on sale at Woolies this week (they are great).

    • -7

      This diagram might help.

  • Tempted. How easy to install this thing? I guess it will need electrician to install an extra power point and get a plumber to connect the water side of things.

    • +5

If it's anything like a normal bidet, you'll need an electrician for the power but a plumber is a complete waste of money.

Your toilet will already have an external valve connecting it to the water, shut off the valve, screw in a T valve (most bidets come with one) and connect the toilet and bidet to the T valve, that's your plumbing work done. It takes 5 minutes and anyone can do it without any prior experience.

  • Don't get the hype about a full seat bidet.
Get something like this. it's like a pressure washer for your butt.

    • I am currently using the exact same one for one of my toilets.

    • +5

No way! There is no comparison… that thing is of the past.

Have you ever tried a proper bidet?

    • Don't you get water everywhere with this thing?

      • No just make sure your butt is covering the seat. Aim. Fire.

        • +8

Sorry mate. Go to Japan and have your eyes opened.

        • +5

          @Circly:

          … and your butt.

        • +2

Disagree, we have one of these currently installed. my wifes mother (who uses one of these every day back in the home country) manages to wet the entire bathroom floor. This is disappointing for me since i wear socks in winter and now my socks get ruined whenever i go to the bathroom.

    • +2

Bum guns are quite messy and it requires some skill to use so you don't over-pressurize and get water everywhere.

I've seen them a lot during my stay in SE Asia but the upper class hotels have proper bidets. The latter is much user friendly.

      • -1

If your butt is covering the seat, there's no escape.

        • I believe scrimshaw is referring to the hand held washer hoses. They can be messy. Bidets are much better.

    • +2

Yeah… but you have to use your hands… and other people touch it… ewwww…

      • -1

        Don't see the issue

      • +2

        Just like door handles.

        • +2

Dammit. You're right. I'm going to have to rethink my door strategy.

        • +2

Push door open with bum, if you can't do that, open door handle with elbow, if you can't do that, wait until another person opens the door for you.
          That's my toilet door strategy!

        • @damion: Is that OCD?

        • +1

          @Diji1: No, it's BEP (Bum->Elbow->other Person)

        • +1

          @Diji1:

Not OCD, you cant believe how many ppl do not wash their hands after using the toilet and they just open the door with the unwashed hand…

      • +1

The issue is with fecal matter touching, splashing, and staying on it.

    • Not so good when the temperature under the house is around 2 degrees.

    • I did this back in the 90s to rinse off the kids cloth nappies

  • +27

Does it send pics of my butt hole back to China?

    • +13

No, it instant posts it to Grinder, along with your GPS co-ordinates*

*This post might be something you would remove with a bidet :)

    • +3

Why, would that save you some time?

    • One would certainly hope so…

    • That's the Huawei version

    • ZTE sends yours to North Korea… although the American ones are nice and large, they too send nudes to the NSA

  • Does this need hot water plumbed in or does the seat heat the cold water coming in?

    • +5

      It heats the cold water.

2nd line in the Feature/Description table in the original post.

  • Anyone know if it comes with the required T section to connect to the water supply?

    • Yes/no
The water filter is a plastic T section. The threads are plastic

      • Ah yes you are right. Just looked at the YouTube video and it seems that from the filter to the cistern it held by a clip. Not sure how that will hold over time with full water pressure inside it, I rather it to be a screw nut type rather than just a clip.

Edit: Ah, looks like its to the bidget that is clipped in.

  • +7

This is very useful for those interested in how the install works.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgTKsIhgykI

  • No drying function :(

    • +3

      Give butt a good shake

      • The poor walls…

      • Woof!

    • Pat dry with a few sheets of TP

    • My friend has one with the drying function. I prefer to just dry with TP. Like after washing my hands in a public restroom if there is the option of using a paper towel or hand dryer, I would always use the paper towel for convenience :P

      • Yes - unless they have the Dyson or even the Mitsubishi dryer. They ACTUALLY DRY your hands in roughly the same amount of time and better for the environment.

Any of the old style ones I use paper every time - they are so crap!

        • But they warm your hands…

  • Has anyone used one of these? Any feedback on it? Cheers!

    • +2

I have one for a few months now and it works a treat

      • Any troubles connecting the hose from the filter to the cistern? I can't seem to get the hose on top the plastic threads

    • Yep, love it.

In winter its a life(bum) saver.

  • Thanks OP got one

  • got one last month. easy to install and works well.
anyone knows how to pre-heat the toilet seat? now the seat will only start heating if your arse is touching the sensor on the seat.
but I am hoping that the seat is starting to warm up so it will not be ice cold when my arse is sitting on it.

    thanks

    • +3

I think that would be a huge amount of energy. How would it know when you need to poop?

      • +5

        smart anal plug

        • Tried that. Should have got the bluetooth version. DOH!

      • +3

Actually, on the same topic, the first 0.5 seconds of the water squirt is also cold (on a freezing winter's morning).
It kinda wakes me up a little haha.
