[Pre-Order] Xiaomi Mijia Smart Toilet Seat / Washlet (AU Plug, English Sticker & Melb Stock) $254.95 Delivered @ Shopro

1220

Please note, Australian stock has now sold out and this item is on pre-order. Stock will be in Australia within the next 2 weeks.

Greetings everone, Shopro have decided to run this product at an excellent price for the first time! I believe this is the cheapest so far for this, beating out their previous eBay plus deal, and there's no need to have eBay plus this time or use the eBay US hack! I don't think you could even find it cheaper from overseas.

There is currently 100 in stock ready to ship, but Shopro have advised me that 320 more are on the way but will arrive in 2 weeks time, so if you miss out on the initial batch, there is still an opportunity to pre-order for that delivery :)

In my experience, Shopro/Gearbite have excellent delivery times, and are extremely helpful for any issues you may have with your purchase.

    • A piece of ham will fix it.

    • I have the exact same model. The toilet seat is always hot for me.

  • My water is hooked up to the rain water tank and only pumps the water when it goes below pressure. Wonder if the bidet will still work..

    • Your water in the pipe is already pressuarized by the pump, so it should be okay

      • +6

Just realised I will be spraying my anus with rainwater which is filled with bird poop… Not sure if thats safe especially for the females that will use it..

        • True that

        • +1

I use rainwater at my house but I have a partical filter and a second stage UV filter. no bugs in vajayjays here.

        • You do realise that you shower in the same water?

        • @Deelirium:

How so? Rainwater tanker is not linked to my shower

        • @R3XNebular:

Sorry, assumed from your comment your house was on tank water.

Living rural and being on tank water my entire life, never heard of any one getting anything from their rain water in my region. Know of one storey of some one getting their water tested after fishing out a quantity of dead rats.

Testers came bk saying it was still better quality than what comes out of the treatment system in most cities water.

    • Yes, it will. As long as you’re okay with washing your ass with the rain water, it will work fine.

  • Do you guys have power outlets near the toilet? Or do you run an extension cord?

    • +2

Extension first. Then get an electrician in when you have other jobs to be done.

  • i bought this about 3 months ago. its really good. now i wished it had a blow dryer.

    • +3

I have a blow dryer with mine, it's hardly useful being kinda weak, and it's one of the top of the range Panasonic ones. Drys faster if you just shake your butt around.

      • how about shaking off the water first before starting the blow dry?

        • Not much difference. It's either sitting there for 5 min vs 5 sec wipe with TP, I'd much prefer the latter.

  • +11

    No Band 28, no deal.

  • My throne seat is separate from my bathroom and there is no electrical plug there. Any thoughts on how to install this?

    • +1

Xiaomi power board or xiaomi power banks with inverter

    • Mount bidet on garbage bin in bathroom near powerpoint, do business, empty bin liner in toilet.

      • ahhh so that's why coles went back on their plastic bag charges…

  • Are the remote control labels in English?

    • +1

English control Label sticker will be supplied

    • It has an English sticker included.

  • +3

The bluetooth connectivity is great … there are Xiaomi games that make pooping fun and you really try to brew up and squeeze out as big nuggets as you can

    • ???

    • Almost, you better patent your idea before someone steals it.

      Another clip https://youtu.be/djI6PuW2QsY

      • funnily enough I played that in Akihabara. Great game. Another excuse to buy a drink from a vending machine that appears every 50m

  • Looks like I won't be going overseas anymore in order to experience this.

    Hope it works

  • How does this compare to the one sold in Costco (USPA) which was for $399.99 back in Jan this year - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/353766

    • That one has remote control so good for prank. ;)

  • Holy sh*ting!

  • I just got shipping notification a few mins ago, what are the chances of me getting it tomorrow!???

    Otherwise probably Monday :(

  • Anyone has non-electrical bidet alternatives / experience?

    • +1

I have the Kraftig cold version with two nozzles (male/female). Very easy to install and no need for electricity. Very simple, paid around $25 from ebay. You can get ones with hot & cold inlets as well.

      • Can u provide a link of the exact model you are using?
How long have u been using it for? Any issues?

The one with hot inlet needs electricity i assume?

    • I've got this cold-water bidet
      http://bidets.com.au/shop/bidets/coway-ba-12-bidet/
I'm thinking water, electricity and privates are not a good combination.
It uses a special Coway filter (I think most if not all use a propriety filter), I bought a chrome t-piece and tap from ebay and connected an inline filter (using fridge carbon block filter) to keep costs down.
The women of the house don't seem to like using it so much on a cold winters morning, me I have no problems with a slightly numb rear end.

  • +1

I installed several units at my place over the last 7 years. Personally I love the spray especially with warm water. I never touched the blowdry function, it just felt weird. My mom loved the warm seat, she leaves it on all the time. It costs 50c per day. Never had any Chinese brand though, I bought mine from Korea

    • Mind linking the ones you used? Thanks!

  • So if I have electric wall sockets in my bathroom, all I need to do is get the plumbing sorted?

    Thanks

    • Don't need any special Plumbing, you just need to take a tap off your existing water supply. (Unless you want to connect it with hot water tap as well for warmer water?)

  • +1

Finally it's time. Insisted on putting a powerpoint right next to the toilet bowl when i got this house built for this exact purpose.

Which side does the plumbing need to be? Mine is on my left side (sitting on the throne). From the video, seems to be on the right? Any issues with that? My toilet is flushed to the wall.

    • I would like to find out too as my other toilet (plumbing) is like yours…

I also have an USPA Bidet with remote installed on another toilet in the house but the plumbing is on this right-side (if one was sitting on the toilet). This product seems to have fitting underneath the controller.

  • Are these easy to install? Installers please reply.

    • The hardest part for me was the 2 anchor holes just a bit too small to fit the bolts through. Needed a fair bit of fitnessing and ingenuity.

Next hardest is the hose they gave is just a bit short as my tap was on the right side of the toilet while the hose connector is on the left side of the bidet unit. With more ingenuity i just managed to connect it.

Then getting power to the unit can be troublesome.

Hold your freaking horses all you Jimmy backyard plumbers…..

Important note - you also need to install a backflow prevention device between the water outlet and the bidet to meet plumbing codes, this is due to a risk of bacteria migrating back into the water pipes.

A toilet seat douche or bidet must comply with
    AS/NZS 3500 Part 1 Water Services Clause 12.2.3.
A douche outlet installed at least 25mm above the
overflow level of the pan, at any position, does not
    require a backflow prevention device.
If the douche outlet is less than 25mm above
the overflow level of the pan, at any position, a
‘high hazard’ backflow prevention device must be
installed (see figures 1 and 2). The device must
    comply with AS/NZS 2845.1 or AS 2845.2.

    AS/NZS 3500.1.2015, Part 1 Water Services,
Clause 4.2.2 states ‘no device or system that
may cause contamination of a water supply
shall be connected directly or indirectly to any
part of a water service without appropriate
    cross-connection or backflow prevention
control suitable for the degree of hazard’.

If you are going to do a job, do it right, or risk drinking poo water.

Edit - removed link to unsuitable backflow prevention device

    • OK, I may have gone off half-cocked I have read it contains a backflow device, but no watermark certification.

    • +1

How does backflow preventing bacterial migration?

      • Because water only goes one way only with back flow prevention. That is going to your bidet inlet without back flowing to the water system. Hope that makes sense and I'm not even in plumbing.

    • Great info, I am putting those backflow protection valves on mine soon!

    • i giggled when i read the word 'douche'

      anyone else?

  • Will this turn my poop from a dumb s#1t to a smart s#1t

  • I don't suppose there's a version with the controls/outlets on the left-hand side? Due to the design of our toilet you can't bring the cords/hoses around.

  • Anyone know if a version with the plumbing on the opposite side is available?

  • Do yourself a favour, invest in a Bidet. Have had mine for a few months, refuse to wipe ever again.

  • anyone know how to install it?

    • Same way you install a toilet seat, couple of plastic bolts. Plus a T-join into existing water supply for the toilet cistern (this should have a stop-cock, so easy peasy) and plug the power cord into an outlet. Few bathrooms have this near the toilet so that may require an electrician to install first.

Guys did you know under current water regulation the water inlet for these bidets need to have a dual check valve so that water cannot flow back to your own lines and to the water system due to contamination?

At least Toto shop told me that if you ever DIY.

If someone gets sick it isn't good you can be held responsible

Strictly speaking there are two standards. Plumbers use a service call RPZ which requires a service every year and is expensive to install and require in every toilet, and Toto saying any watermark certified product can be installed in Australia but still need the dual check valve.

OP if you can clarify. Or perhaps someone with a plumbing background?

Also is this Xiaomi suitable for both top mount and the old toilets mounting from underneath?

Does it come with different mount brackets to fit?

    • You may already have a dual-check valve on your mains water, next to the meter.
However, I also don't see a bidet would explicitly need one, since it doesn't hold any water that could back-flow, does it?
Maybe only the bidets that have a reservoir to hold pre-heated water?

      • Ahh, the S.A. rules are more detailed - it depends on the height of the bidet outlet with respect to the water in the toilet, so if the sewers backed up, and the toilet overflow at the same time the mains water failed, the sewage won't backflow into the mains.

  • I’ve contacted Sydney Water but maybe someone has an answer already… is recycled water (purple pipes) safe to use in a bidet?

    • Nope.

    • Do you usually wash your hands or shower in it?

    • Have you got your answer from Sydney Water? Wonder the filter will make a difference

      • Answer is no

  • Fantastic unit, I bought it in the last sale.

OP - any chance you guys sell the “English sticker” only?

    • +2

Hi, We made this stickers for our customers. if you purchase from us, please PS your order detail, i will follow up an free English sticker for you.

I use a K'archer on my missus. Clean as a whistle.

  • I would love to have one, but I am just a bit concerned about the size of this thing.
Seems to be bigger (especially longer) than a regular toilet seat, seems to me, it will be sticking out over the edge of the toilet bowl by a few cm!
    Anyone experience this?

  • That company should change its name from shopro to nopoo ;)

  • What happens if you don't have a power point right next to your toilet? Will it be a bit weird running it around the vanity (next to the toilet)? Do I just need a cold water inlet (next to toilet), or do you also need hot water?

    • Thankfully I have a power point int the room directly opposite where I need to install - will be easy to fit.

  • Anyone remember the thread where someone flooded the landlord's place with their bidet? That was a gem.

  • Was just about to grab one til I read the comments about the rainwater tank water supply.

Maybe a silly question but how do you know if your toilet is connected to the rainwater tank supply?

Seeing as though most newish houses all have rainwater tanks now, how many people are buying this and not realising they might be using it with rainwater?

    • I use one with my rain water tank. Majority of the time the tank is pumping mains water into it anyways. Check to see if there's a pump next to your tank. Turn it off if you're worried and it will only be mains water.

  • This is one of those purchases where my girlfriend will kill me if I buy it, though I know she'll love it after having it…

Like every single item I buy

    • Doesn't work with motorcycles - I have repeated this 2 more times just to be sure.

      • Why are you shitting on your motorcycle?

        • Not shitting on my motorcycles - just confirming that wife doesn't love them after buying them … perhaps that is the problem, only works with girlfriends ….. Hmmmmm…..

        • @singlemalt72: Oh well, good thing you have both, right. Right?

      • "Doesn't work with motorcycles - I have repeated this 2 more times just to be sure."

You must be doing it wrong, it's definitely possible:

  • Got one. Gonna be so hard to explain this to the girl

    • She'll love you for it

While I wait for this I play romper stomper in the shower. Seriously one could turn into a Muslim and never want toilet paper again. Built a 2nd shower over the emergency drain and the 100mm plastic grid now has a CD sitting in it and a 40mm hole all sitting a bit lower and so easy to clean with a powerful hond shower. Ebay also sells colon cleaners can either insert or it also can be placed from behind under ones "hole". Does enemas in seconds, eliminates so much more. After I can pig out again…
