  • Very interested….but is it hard to install myself?!

    • +1

Haven't installed it myself but there is a youtube video
      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TLn6jmrN94

    • Nah not at all

      • having trouble biting onto the thread on the plastic bit on the filter (the part where the hose goes into the toilet cistern). anyone has the same problem?

  • Wash let? Never heard that word before.

    • +1

It is really popular in Japan

      • I know what it is, but bidet is the term generally used.

        • +1

It is in general, but "washlet" is the more popular (marketing) term used these days.

        • +12

          hehehe, he said 'butt bidet'

        • @denlife: uh.. huh huh… Yeah yeah yeah!!

    • +2

Its a little waterjet tube that pops out under the back of the seat and sprays a directed stream of water for cleaning (like a bidet I think).

I've used them and they are fantastic after you get over the initial shock. The strength of the spray is variable so you can start gently and later pump up the pressure as you become more experienced.

        Cleaning what?

          Cleaning what?

That spot where the sun don't shine.

  • Grabbed 2 last week @ $265ea. Great seats and rather easy to install. Currently using a power lead until the electrician comes round
    Best function is the heater

    • +13

Worst case is you get a sausage and couple of meatballs.

    • +13

I wonder what you would have been saying when you saw the first electric street light….. nope better stick to my kerosene lanterns

      • +1

You climb street lights to clean your soiled anus!?

        • You don't?

    • It comes with RCD, ya know?

    • +1

I take it you've never left the country?

i have one, love mine. i got my measurements a tiny bit wrong. but still works well. make sure you remove your existing seat and measure before purchasing.

    • Hi, I'm pretty keen to get one too. The only measurement that's a little off on mine is from the securing holes to the front of the toilet bowl. My toilet is only 430mm whereas the recommended is between 450-505mm.

May I ask where did you get your measurements wrong and do you reckon if it will still work on my toilet?

      • +3

My cistern blocks the bidet from moving back further so when the seat is down you can see the front of the bowl. So I didn't properly measure the holes to the cistern. Hope that make sense

Can't remember my actual measurements but when I did it, it was the positioning of where you mount the screws got me.

        • Thanks for the reply.

Do you mean that part of the seat hangs over the bowl? If so, by approx how much?

        • +1

          @Arch113: I think it's about a 1.5cm. you won't notice the overhang.

It's a bother if you put the seat down and the bowl hits your junk.

        • @PreSsieGuY:
Push your butt in push your butt out then shake it all out.

          80s song, me think.

      • My toilet is similar to yours, but even smaller, only 423mm. This is the only measurement that doesn't fit in the recommended length. Let me know how it goes if you decide to get it!

        • There will be about 2cm overhang, but should not be that noticeable?
I assume yours is from Caroma as well?

    • +1

Is your toilet suite from Caroma?
      Something like this

  • Its very common at korea
At home or department store , hotels..
Sould try sit when its warm especially winter
Also warm water washing is fascinating :)

  • +1

How is this one with dimensions. Australian toilets being shorter from tank to front. Mine measures 485mm but all bidets I come across are typically minimum 530mm. If anyone who has bought one can enlighten me if that fit matters greatly or not. It would be great.

    • Also very curious about this! Anyone that has purchased in the past can chip in here would be great!

  • Loved these in Japan, i'll get one when i renovate a bathroom at some stage in my life.
Problem for Aussie bathrooms is that we don't place power points anywhere near a toilet, this is the issue installing this seat.

Note: in my current bathroom, the only powerpoints are at chest height on the other side of the room, not viable for me

    • I currently use an extension lead haha

  • Without a water mark sticker, if anything goes wrong insurance are void straight away. Better to install it down stairs in a concrete slab powder room or bathroom.

Does anyone here have a Toto smart toilet seat?

In Japan they just use Toto:
    https://totovic.com.au/
    http://oceania.toto.com/index.html

    • +1

Wondering how much do they cost here as well

      • +1

When I was in Japan, I did a bit of conversion, and it costs around $500 AUD for one. I don't know if Toto even sell them here. The website only lets you add things to a wishlist.

        • +1

The first link is the Australian Toto branch, it's somewhere in VIC.

Edit: found the NSW distributor. They have a showroom in Zetland:
          http://www.mizudori.com.au

        • No one on ozbargain is buying a toto washlet here. They wont stock the cheapest models to maximize profit margins.

Call the showrooms, theyll have the top of the line toilets for thousands, with no one to install it OR, only one person to install it (for heaps) and you void any warranty if you dont use them.

The only people who have toto here are probably Japanese expat execs.

        • @KoalaManager: The crappiest Air BnBs in Japan have them. Makes me wonder where they get theirs from. The $500 ones I saw were from those Duty Free shops which have big markups on things.

  • I seriously can’t live without my bidet (I didn’t get this one in particular). One of my best purchases ever. This one’s a bargain at that price

  • Code should have been WETARSE15.

  • -2

I don't trust Xiaomi enough to shit on it.

  • Yikes!

As you sit down, the inserted sensor senses the user sitting on the toilet seat and automatically turn down the temperature, avoiding from burning your skin

    • It's a feature, right?

      • Ever since my first trip to Nippon, I have the strangest dreams…

  • Thanks OP bought one of the last 2

  • +2

When applying the code it says there's a problem please try again later.

    • +1

Have you used the code before?

      • Have used it before.. forgetful me.

  • +1

Had to sign up to ebayplus, but hey free shipping ($20) plus discount ($45) it's already paid for itself! Thanks for this, have been eyeing an electric toilet seat for ages. That this comes with australian plug and english sticker is great. Too bad it won't ship out til 10th July tho. Not sure how it compares with Toto (japanese) or Inus (Korean) type seats but I sure hope it works out well! Winter time is a cold time for the tushy.

  • Dup.

  • Really want to buy it. But no power supply :-(

  • sorry my bad, code works for plus member only

Dont buy Chinese copycat product. China copied other products from other countries very very well.
This product original made and designed by Japan, and it is a top quality.
The price is not much different.
    Why buy Chinese made products?

    • +2

I bought my first Panasonic toilet seat from japan in 2005, a basic model costed A$250, but 110v-220v convertor costed another $100, after 7 years I bought another Panasonic from china, it came with lots of fancy functions, such as Wi-fi Geofencing for saving energy(not home turn off), and air dryer, costed me A$800, you may not know most of the toilet seats in Japanese market are made in china, last year I bought the 3rd Chinese made one for my mum for A$400, I've noticed even the same model but there are options for U-shape and V-shape toilet…
I don't see anything wrong with Chinese made products, by the way Xiaomi products never copied others, if you insist to get a japan made product, you may get a decent transformer at first, I bet you don't know Apple iPhone all made in china… Dyson vacuum all made in Malaysia… Bosch washers all made in Czech… and so forth…don't be stubborn!

  • having trouble biting onto the thread on the plastic bit on the filter (the part where the hose goes into the toilet cistern). anyone has the same problem?

    • Yeah had the same problem, went to bunnings with the filter and the hose and got a male/female adapter with some plumbers tape (for the drips which were a pain) and finished it off <$10 later

  • Just got my installed today. Is the warming of the seat constantly on? I expect it is only on when I seat on it???? how much electricity will this one consume if it is constantly on?

    • I think you can switch the warming and also the entire unit off if you long press the power/stop button. Then just turn it back on when you're in next.

      • Thanks. it is funny tho this named smart, how it is smart… just electronic and even a bit silly because it washes and sterilizes that nozzle every time even I do not use the water spray function, the water dripping noise is bit annoying for me at night as the toilet is next to my sister's room :)
