        You’re welcome buddy

  • Thanks OP. Shame about the mobile phones exclusion.

  • +2

I'm confused how this works and wondering if someone could help. Does this mean I can purchase from The Good Guys locally but through the eBay US store?

    • +1

      Yes. Buy through eBay.com

Find your item at the Good Guys using eBay.com.au.
Delete the "au" from the web address.
The site will switch to eBay.com (prices shown in US and AU $)

  • Can I purchase a Buy Now item now and pay for it using the code once it is live tomorrow morning, i.e. will the code work for purchases made before 2am tomorrow but paid for after 2am?

    • +1

I suspect so. Don't quote me on it though

    • +1

Dickens, to use the words of Turd, "I suspect so."

    • And Dickens, do not quote Turd on it.

  • Do they do the price jack up?

    • +2

      It's site wide.
The price jacking is more for the sales when it's a few particular ebay stores.

      • Yep, and it should be even less likely with Australian sellers, since this is US

    • Try looking at the purchase history if you can.

  • I am looking at buying a Sigma lens. Are lenses excluded?

    • Only if you consider a lens to fall under the category of "Cameras & Photo"

      • Thanks. The lens is listed under Cameras, lenses.

  • I assume ebay plus wont work on ebay.com?

  • Will this stack with PENNY5 or is that code only for ebay.com.au?

    • +3

      eBay codes don't stack.

  • Time to move back to the US!

  • +2

Great timing as I'm moving to the US for maybe a week or two.

    • +4

Sure, we're all moving to the US.

  • I have been waiting for a good deal on the Xiaomi Mi Roborock S50 Robot Vacuum Cleaner.

    I found this

    https://www.ebay.com/itm/Xiaomi-Mi-Roborock-S50-Robot-Vacuum…

Will the coupon work on it? It appears to be under home appliance. Which isnt in exclusion.

    Will come to $453 delivered?

    • +1

Following. I also want one lol

    • +1 following this!

    • yes it should

  • Just checked, so the code will valid start from 2am tomorrow. What if I win an auction before that, can I wait till 2am to pay and apply the code?

  • nice one

  • +3

    Exclusions = killer.

All I want to buy is in the computer hardware & video games.

  • hey guys, need help. Can't find where is this button..

There is always that 2nd guy.

Every bell curve has to start somewhere.

      • +1

I know how to read. not the code, changing the postal address doesnt work for me. I have to ask because people just mindlessly upvote.

        • I should just mindlessly what?

        • +1

@PJC: Perhaps mindlessly fidget-spin. Or mindlessly stare off into the distance. I've seen elderly citizens well accomplished at mindlessly drooling as well, so perhaps give that a go? For a greater challenge, try all three together.

        • @dm01: Isn't that multi-taking?

  • -3

Have to pay GST for freight as well..Nah.

    • +2

no, not if seller is in australia

  • Price jacked for BES870 barista machine.

  • Can we stop rambling on about the GST. Harvey's having a good laugh at you all every single time you whinge. Theres nothing any single community like OZB can do, hes won already, Aussies lost, thats capitalism. Just get used to it, take the good with the bad.

    • I think if we banded as a community to boycott Hardley Normal, we could make some impact. But as it turns out, people are still shopping there judging by the HN deals we've had since July 1.

      • Yeah well judging by everyones past history with the HN Amex deals. Us lot will never ever be a community lol. But come on, he was mainly targeting us for the GST in the first place. He's not worried about offending anyone as he knows he doesn't want OZBargainers to step into his shops. We're definitely not his targeted customers, more like a nuisance in his richer people environment.

        • +2

Well, I've stopped shopping at HN - no matter how good their deals are. So long as I do my bit, I'm just going to sound like a broken record telling people to boycott them in every HN thread. Maybe I could make that my mission and just post in every HN deal to tell them to suck a fat one.

        • @Munki: Keep up the good work - it's making an impact, as evidenced by HN having to take $100 off the price of the Apple HomePod!

        • +1

@Munki: me too every chance i get i will buy off HN if its at his loss of profit like when GOW was released

        • +1

@dm01: I just price match with David Jones and pay with 10% discounted David Jones gift card. Winning!

    • -2

Theres nothing any single community like OZB can do

Change your vote from Liberal and Labour to someone who won't take payoffs from industry. Because at the moment industry runs the country at the expense of everyone who is an individual.

      • Do you really think a political solution is the answer? They're all the same. When a country starts to go downhill and becomes poor, the economy takes a priority no matter if its Liberals or Labor on the stage.

        • They are all the same because too many voters keep doing the same thing. Why would you need to change when you can take duopoly for granted?

  • +2

cant change registered country it keeps changing back to australia even when i use a full valid US adress

    • +1

same here, guess ebay has spotted the bug and patched it.

  • +1

Linked page that I found seems to not have exclusions FYI except the usuals, but could be updated closer to the time.

  • Yep change of address works if you use an actual valid address. Can't just make it up.

  • So am I right in assuming that ebay gift cards will work for this - I guess that's what buy through ebay AU means?

    • +1

ebay au gift cards wont work because you need to buy thru ebay.com to get 15 percent off

      • Thanks

  • I use a shipping address in the usa to send my stuff to and then ship to me here in australia so to take advantage of this deal if i go on ebay.com and have my item sent to my us address will i quality for this deal.
    Im registered as australia?

Or do i need to change it to usa and enter my usa address?
If i did can i change it back afterwards?

If the seller sends iten to australia which i not checked what then?

If you do a best offer and seller accepts offer again will this work.

  • +1

OP, I think you got the date wrong. It says 8am Pacific Time 8/8/2018, so that should be 1am Australian Eastern Time 9/8/2018, not 8/8/2018.

    • Thanks. I had just edited to include the start and finish times now that they are official. My bad.

  • Wait, so you can buy AU products shipped to AU from ebay US?

    • Buy from a an AU seller, but do it through the US website.

      • I presume the AU seller must be willing to post worldwide or at least to the US for the listing to appear?

  • PLEASE HELP! trying to change it but im getting a error You didn't provide some required information. Please correct the fields identified below.
its forcing me to change the state to a usa one?

    • I believe some other people had this error too. Just look through the comments. You might need to be creative and use a US address.

      • But wont the item ship to the US address????? how do I get it shipped to my address??

    • So I changed it to a usa address, but its still using my address as primary and only address on account settings, seems weird. now need to wait and see if this works.

  • +1

For anyone asking how to change the address and then getting an error. A better way to get past this is to make a Shipmate or Ship it to account (it's free) and just put the address they give you for their service into your primary address, once you check out select the actual address you want to ship it to and then change it back once you're done shopping. Saves you from worrying about EBay shipping to some random address you found on Google maps.
    Hope this helps

    • very confused how this works. and do you have links to the website?

      • Sorry it's Shopmate not Shipmate. Its a Aus post company. Its basically a website that provides you a U.S. address for shopping in the U.S.

  • previous US sitewide deal, i can only use the CODE once. is that the case?

    • yes, it is stated in T&C

    • However, in previous deals you could checkout out as a guest.

  • Has this started I'm in wa and confused when deal is on,if I use code with my Australian ebay but with .com and ship to my USA address will it work as not working right now?
Also do ebay gift cards here work on eBay.com

    • +1

Starts in about 10 min. Gift cards won't work. Buy whatever you want on eBay.com with the code. Ship it to your normal address.

  • Mine is failing to update my country, hmm.

We noticed a problem. Please review the below information

Time to make a new account, perhaps?

Also, where are these exclusions people are seeing.. Not in the OP or on the link provided.. It only says it excludes usual stuff like currency, gift cards etc.

  • +2

This code can't be applied to your order.
looks like you cant buy consoles or they fixed it or something

    • Yes, I tried a console as well, no good even though PRONTO15 page says:
*Eligible items exclude warranties and protection plans, as well as items from the Coins & Paper Money, Gift Cards & Coupons, and Real Estate categories.

I have changed my registration address to US…bugger.

  • Deal is up now!

  • +2

"This code can't be applied to your order".

Changed address to US. Waited until 1am. What a waste of time.

    • +1

      Same. :|

    • +1

Same error, ugh. Was set on getting a graphics card :(

Oh well.. we will have to stick with the "20% off" price jack local deals which are absolute shit. Regretting staying up late now, should have just waited until morning to try…

      • +1

There will probably be a 10% or 15% sitewide in the future for AU

        • +1

They were common during EOFY but rare lately.. they are trending towards 20% off a list of price-jacking sellers.

Either way, this post is not available :(

    • +2

lol we all stayed up just to get disappointed :(

Also same error for me too.

    • Were you using ebay.com?

      • +1

        Yes. I double checked too.

    • It finally worked when I created a new separate ebay account on ebay.com with a fake US address.

  • +1

"This code can't be applied to your order".

  • +1

No go for me either :(

  • Code worked for me: "You saved AU $10.50 on this purchase"

The catch is some items won't appear in search on ebay.com because they ship to Australia only. Try looking through the left side bar of recently viewed items to get what you viewed on ebay.com.au.

I bought a gas bottle, in case people are wondering. Not on the exclusion list.

    • +2

Where is this mysterious exclusion list? None of the links in the OP have anything more than:

exclude warranties and protection plans, as well as items from the Coins & Paper Money, Gift Cards & Coupons, and Real Estate categories.

      • You're right. It seems people are having trouble buying anything computer related.

      • Well I cand definitely say it wont work for any mobile phone

  • Worked for me on some badminton equipment! Saved $50. Thanks OP!

  • Has it worked for anyone?

    EDIT: Yes, yes it did.

  • It's working for me, thanks OP! :)
