    How much is it normally?

    • It says this on their website? Normally $17.99.

  • Is it normally electrifyingly expensive?

    What makes them smart?

    • -3

      The have little brains.

      • +3

Having a brain doesn’t make you smart

  • Very good price - I recently paid $25ea for 9W LEDs from another brand, however the ones I bought are dimmable, have 700 lumen output, and a slightly wider 160° beam. 600 lumen is very ordinary for 10W - should be putting out 750+. Also, there's no mention of how long the warranty/guarantee is? This is important for LEDs since the bulbs cannot be replaced. You want 3 years minimum.

    • Wouldn't buy non dimmable led lights downlights again

    • what other brand?

      • CLA Slick

I don't get why these split type LED lights have such poor power efficiency.

Isn't the idea of having a separate transformer from the actual LED supposed to reduce heat, thus improving power efficiency. Most LED bulbs are at or above 100lm per Watt, INCLUDING the heat from the close proximity transformer. Imma whirlpool dis.

    • Yep, looks like these are integrated though? And are pretty terrible luminaires/leds. SDCM <7 is terrible, and L70 @15,000 hrs isn't great. Or maybe I'm too picky after working with lighting/design.

    • when it comes to LED there isnt enough heat to affect it, split transformer heat issues was more when it was Halogen lights

  • What the benefit of having a pre-plug?

    • No electrician required if you replacing existing downlights

  • Are these dimable?

    Don't buy from this company.

Terrible communication - check out their eBay reviews.

They also sell from another seller account (mec365) which they claim is not theirs, but shares the exact same address.

Their ABN/ACN has been cancelled since the 05 Apr 2018.

Plus any LED with a CRI less than 90 is harming your health:

Lol at YouTube claim of bad for health, ya sure.

      • So you're saying Dr. Alexander Wunsch is lying or doesn't know what he's talking about?

        • +3

Do you have any recommendations for remedying the negative effects of my LED lights at home? Essential oils perhaps?

        • +1

@tromboc: It's funny that the thing you use to try and make a joke has over 100 published studies confirming it's usefulness.

Instead of trying to be funny, why not watch/listen to at least 10 minutes of the interview to see if in actual fact, low CRI LEDs to have some health implications?

        • +1

          @MdMa7:

Lol. So do you go about with candlelight? How's your wifi?

        • +1

@Gharvey Snruff: The solution is to buy LEDs with a CRI higher than 90… that's it.

No need for candle lights, just a little reading.

There are so many random drs out there in YouTube with their own random opinions. Just because their got a Dr title, you going to believe all of them?.
There should be more independent studies, second opinions and more research to backed up their claims, before I believing in any of them.

    • +1

Fluorescent lights typically have a very low CRI score of around 60.

      That's much lower than LEDs.

So are all the people who work in office buildings for 8 hours a day harming their health?

      • -3

Why ask me when you can get the answer to your question and more by watching the interview with Dr. Wunsch?

    • I watched the entire video, and read other articles as well. Dr. Wunsch claims that the blue light produced by LED/fluorescent lighting is bad for you at night. However, he doesn't mention any studies to back up his claims - that's because none exist. There is no evidence at present. In theory, though, what he's saying is sound.

      • I've just checked and the link I posted is not the total interview.

You can even find the transcript here:
        https://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2016/10/…

        • +1

Ok, that's all fine, but he still doesn't mention any studies or make any references to research done by others, in his interview.

    Non dimmable, not for me.

I need a bunch of lights. Anybody have brand recommendations for the best quality/value ratio?

    Sals have been recommended.

  • for dimmable downlight please try our 11W smartbright

    • And which dimmer should be used for this?
