Leatherman Charge TTi $199 C&C (Or + Delivery) @ Tool Lanyards

70

Had been looking around for a Leatherman for quite a while and stumbled across this deal. Thought it was a good price for the charge TTi.

The nylon sheath one is out of stock. Looks like they have a few of the leather sheath ones left.

Postage was $14.95 but you can pick up in store.

Pro tip: If you can find spares then you can take out the useless scissors and flat screwdriver and replace them with a second bit driver (ie turn the TTi into the [discontinued] XTi).

  • Nice find OP 👍

  • FYI, this the old version, new ones called tti plus

  • What makes this pocket knife worth $200? Compared to say …the ones I can get almost anywhere for like $3?

    • This is a multi-tool, as opposed to a pocket knife. Much like, say, a screwdriver, you could get a cheapie for a few dollars, or a high quality brand-name tool with a lifetime warranty for a whole lot more.

    • This is two knives (serrated and smooth) made from decent steel, a saw, a file, a decent set of needle nose pliers with wire cutters and stripper, a screw driver with interchangeable bits, and a few other things all packed together with titanium panels into a package that can fit in your pocket. While I don't need mine every day, I certainly get a lot of use out of it. I purchased the extra bit kit so that I have pretty much every screw/hex/torx bit at my disposal when I need it. It's 6 years old and still looks like it did new, with proper care they will last pretty much forever.

If you need tools sometimes, but not enough to carry a toolkit with you, then they are great. These very much fall into the Buy It For Life bucket.

I thought this price was a bit steep, as I recall paying $98 for my Charge Ti. But I've just checked, and that was 11 years ago. It still looks as good as it did then though. A great unit indeed.

Similarly, I recently thought I'd lost mine and figured I'd just replace it as I recall paying about $100 for it. I checked and I did indeed pay about $120 for it, but that was when the AUD was worth about the same as the USD, so that's the equivalent of about $175 today, and that was a really good price in 2012.

  • I've lost my Leatherman micra. 16 years of being in my pocket all the time & great service. Great tools.
