Was contacted a few days by Deal Monkey. There new daily deals site launching this Wednesday (in most major cities). Looks to be a big launch, with nationwide TV advertisement and letterdrops to millions of homes. Deal Monkey deals will also be featured on our site Buyii.com.au once they launch.

    yet another site?

    • More to come :)

    • lol just what i was thinking, yawn

      • +2

i was buying heaps before but now the deals are getting more and more stingy and less exciting.

        i rmb the good old days w $5 burger + chips, $1 pizza, $4 pancakes……

I guess these voucher sites make good $ esp when people forget or cbb redeeming thwm after purchase

  • what is your affiliation to buyii.com.au?

buyii.com.au is registered to lim, zhen sheng and you seem to be plugging buyii.com.au.

    • +9

I've always been transparent about being the owner of Buyii. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/35918

      • how come sometimes the side deals don't turn up or the entire voucher site is not on?

anyway, im more of a browser now then a purchase. too many now w crappy discounts. some are just 50% so why wouldnt i use my enterinamtn card

        • We try to list every deal and side deal. Its done manually so one or two might be skipped. At the moment Cudo is the only deal site we dont list because they requested not to be listed.

but you have not disclosed it in the post deal. people will assume you a normal person and not an affiliate with undisclosed interests.

also, apparently advertising is now ok on ozbargain, since your site has nothing to do with the deal.

        • +3

Sorry you feel that way. Edited post to make it clearer.

The deal came through Buyii, so yes it is relevant. We were contacted to list and help promote the deal so here we are. I didn't even post any affiliate links, so this is just for the OzB community.

Registered and Subscribed… can't see any $10 credit

Anybody know what the story is with this?

    • +1

hey Ilama, the credit takes 48hours to show up in your account according to Deal Monkey

  • +2

Is there a way to see the deals without subscribing? I really hate having to subscribe to a site to see if there might be something there I like.

    • $10 credit towards something which will probably be unwanted

You can use the $10 towards ANY item you want so when you see something you want to buy you use the $10 discount.

    • +7

No one forces you to use the $10 against your will. Obviously it will come in handy if you find a deal that appeals to you. Fine if you want to pass on it, but does it really deserves a negative when many others will find it useful?

      • +9

Some people just can't help having a whinge.

    • +1

surely it doesn't deserve a neg… you can use the $10 for whatever appeals to you. Moreover, if you are sensitive about giving email addresses, you shouldn't take up on the offer.

    • -3

After reviewing the comments and voting guidelines I've revoked the neg. However I'm really not impressed with an offer that gets you $10 towards a 'deal' of unidentified services and/or goods of unspecified value. It is really a non-offer, a non-bargain, nothing, without knowing what you get in return for providing your email address. Even if it's something you want, if it's worth say $1000 (eg., a holiday) then you're only saving 1% of the value. It would be much better if the OP specified what kind of deals would be on offer. How do we know that the 'bargains' on show won't be $750 for a 30-minute LED light facial skin therapy, 'valued' at $2399, or some such rubbish?

      • +4

Come on man, pull it together. It'll be exactly the same sort of deals that are on the other 20 or so sites like this. Some are expensive (accomodation etc), some are cheap (takeaway etc). If you really don't want to give over your precious email address, you have 2 options:

        1. Simply DON'T and stop complaining.
        2. Open a secondary email account with one of a gazillion providers and only use it for this place.

Now, stop wasting your own, and everyone else's time whining about something that is completely in your control to avoid if you so choose.

      • Are you a mod? How can you revoke negs?

        • You can revoke your own votes. Go to the Votes tab at the top to do it (only for a certain time after you've voted).

      • +1

Why not look at the positive instead of being so pessimistic. Deal Monkey will be similar to all the other deal sites, you will get health, fitness, retail and of course dining options. $10 should cover a fair portion of a lunch or dinner deal. If you like to wait then wait until Wednesday when they launch and see. This credit will still be valued then.

As the OP zhenjie has shown to his/her credit, it IS possible to disagree without flaming. simonk83, do try to be civil, huh?

      • +1

I think he is being civil, he makes valid points!

      • +1

I don't have time for pointless comments unfortunately, so that's about as civil as you'll get from me :)

  • -2

    Meh, advertising spam at best.

    • +1

build a bridge mate, get over it.

    • +1

would love to see a really good deal come up on the deal monkey site next week and all the people who negged this miss out on a potential $10 discount.

  • Is this deal still valid? I don't see anywhere on the site where it would tell me that I will be getting $10 for signing up or does it all happen in the background?

    • its valid until end of Feb. While its not shown in the first page, if you sign up and register it will show up in your account in 48hours. You also get a confirmation after the initial email subscription that the $10 offer is on.

      • cool bananas.

just signed up through facebook. that should still work right?

        • hope so, cos thats what i did too

  • Just got the first email from this company (advertising lingerie) but there doesn't appear to be anyway to unsubscribe to these emails. Nothing in the account section and the unsubscribe button on the bottom of the email goes to a webpage with an error:
