  • Can we stack this with the Goodguys deal? @tightarse

    • +5

      No, one coupon only :(

      • +56

        Username checks out :D

        • +11

          Avatar does not :D

        • @iLoveYourFace: He used to think that he was ambivalent, but now he's not sure!

    • Always one coupon only (per item) on Ebay.

  • Is there a chance this offer will be pulled early like the previous 10% code?

    • +2

No this has a fixed end date. That was "ends at eBay's discretion".

    • +2

Is there a chance the track could bend?

      • +4

Not on your life my thrifty friend!

        • -6

          *Hindu friend :)

    • +2

Yes. Despite stating an end date, eBay has pulled coupons early before

  • -2

spent 1.5k last week on ebay, non with ebay au…i am now an US resident kthx

  • +2

I'm going to need a bigger house.

  • What does platypus have to do with an eBay sale? A curious choice of code.

    • Something to do with Australians in the world cup most likely, they've got a banner for that on the front page

      • +1

Whose front page? eBay or a newspaper? I don't see a platypus banner on eBay's home page.

So our national team has been demoted from a tall, bouncy, energetic Socceroo to a flat, bottom-feeding, eye-laying evolutionary dead end. All for the sake of a 10% off sale. Oh the shame.

        • eBay's front page, it has a banner saying

Celebrate the FIFA World Cup, Everything you need to support your team in style

Then links to this with heaps of Australian supporter gear, even though we got relegated lol. Only logical solution I can think of to do with Platypus

        • eye-laying egg-laying

        • +2

          @doweyy:

10% off is a lousy clearance sale. Old jerseys need to be min 50% off before anyone cares

      • +2

'Played-like-pussies' was too politically incorrect then.

We saw what you did there, ebay.

      • Something to do with Australians NOT in the world cup most likely

    • They're running out of P words

      • I can think of a few…

  • +2

    I think I have "ebaycouponoverload-itis"

  • I'm looking for a future proof power bank for my Samsung Galaxy s9+ and iPad. Please recommend something over $50 so I can take advantage of this deal but less than $100 if possible. Thanks

    • +1

      Any Anker PowerCore

    • +1

      Technology is never futureproof.

      • +3

You go say that to my Super Nintendo! Still going strong!

      • Some things are a lot more future proof than others. Although anything with a built in battery won't last too long without losing capacity.

  • +4

it doesn't make up for the Turnbull Amazon Tax now on non Australian merchants.

    • +1

True, but it is not eBay's fault. eBay doesn't have to do anything to help, yet it does. eBay is the good guy here. Tell your friends never to shop at HN and explain why if you want to take it out on someone.

  • Wow. Love the whole site off. Thanks OP

  • +3

    Yesterday: 5% off sitewide
    Today: 10% off sitewide

No harm in waiting until tomorrow :)

    • This one lasts until Sunday

      • +2

The 5% off lasts a lot longer than that yet we have got a 10% off now!

  • What's happening with eBay or someone hacked their system & generating codes everyday ;)

    Thanks Again TA 👍

    • -1

More like TA putting the pressure on!

      • He is just delivering the clicks, and doing a good job of it.

      • +1

        TA clamping down

        • +1

          He's tightening up.

  • +5

I need "a max discount of $300 per transaction" :(

    • I need a $200 :) But I could handle a $300 as well!

  • +2

    Thanks OP.

  • Anyone recommend any good office chairs? Buro metro isn't at a good price on ebay anymore.

    • Try Taco Urban.

    • I've had two iottie holders in two cars for years. Very good design too.

  • Serious question - can anybody recommend a decent car phone holder that doesn't self-destruct or disintegrate within 4 months?

    • The samsung branded one seem to hold up well. Had mine for a couple of years now. Only issue every couple of months it will fall off as the suction is starting to go. But pretty happy so far.

      • Thanks, you wouldn't have a link for this at all would you? Or do you mean Samsung-branded holders in general?

    • Highly recommend the Logitech Plus Drive: https://www.logitech.com/en-au/product/plus-drive

      • Thanks!

        • +1

I should warn you though - the metal plate that goes on the back of your phone keeps NFC from working. If you've got a Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+, they would stick to the Drive+ without the plate. I don't know if the same applies to the S9 series.
          HTH.

    • The magnet ones are amazing. No moving parts

    • I bought this one from the (self) deal and it has been perfect.

  • I'm getting "You've entered this code too many times" is it too early

    • Starts 10am.

      • cheers thought that may be the case

  • ok , will try again at 10am

  • +1

Wow a 10% off that lasts more than a day? It's almost like eBay Plus has drawn people away from the site.

  • +7

So this is effectively what was "normal price" up until Saturday (pre-GST)?

    Well played, ebay… well played.

    • +5

Well played Gerry Harvey you mean..

I guess your statement is only true for grey imports

    • +1

I'm hoping there will be a proper 10% off pre-GST prices (i.e. 20% off post GST)

      • +2

To be precise, you need 18.18% sitewide to achieve an effective 10% off post gst.

    • Yes, technically you are correct.

Did they nominate a GST amount for all Australian purchases? I can't recall.

    • …though, the GST increase seems to be more than 10%. They're making you pay extra to administer the GST as well.

Even 10% off doesn't bring international purchases back to what they were before.

Good for Oz stuff though…and all the foreign stuff that is still cheaper even with GST + eBay effort tax.

  • +3

This is like only 1%-off sale compared to pre-gst

  • I am going broke! Must stop visiting OzB!

    • Wait until a new credit card deal!

  • Good now there's something big to buy.

  • And there you have it aussies have forgotten and moved on from the ragging 10% tax increase from international shopping, to start off, EBay 10% discount code grab yourself a bargain!!! Everyone’s happy again :)

    • +5

      Screw Gerry!

      • +1

He'd probably let you, call him.

        • +1

I did, he mumbled something about not being into professionals …

      • +1

You'll have to give 10% extra screwing.

  • lol 3 coupons in 24 hours.

  • Thanks but cap it at $500 please

    Ta11 at $500 and I'm in.

  • Where do I enter the promo code? There's gift card/promo code section during checkout (where I select payment method).

    Thanks

    Edit: was using app

  • +2

Time to start looking for things I don't need to buy in order to save money…. Decisions decisions….

  • I kept promising myself not to spend anymore and failed many times. I hope I can keep it for this week.

  • No 15%? Tell them they're dreaming.

  • Does this work for for best price offer?

  • +1

Typically I purchased most of my items on eBay from OS.
This discount just helps alleviate the additional taxes.

Sorry eBay. I'll probably be buying elsewhere now.

    • +1

I can't see how this takes you away from eBay, all international companies now have to charge GST, so unless you buy via a non-GST charging forwarder I can't see how you are saving money elsewhere?

      • +1

It's more to do with the fact that ebay was plain and simple for importing, as opposed to using a variety of other sites.

      • For me personally, eBay is used out of convenience. There are no savings compared to using a variety of other sites.
Anything can be purchased through non-GST charging forwarders, it is a question of how much effort is involved.

      • +1

all international companies now have to charge GST

Not all, only those turning over $75,000+

    • There's nowhere else that has the low prices and buyer guarantees from PayPal.

Dare I say it, with that attitude the extra tax might have the effect the government wants (less likely to purchase from overseas, more likely to purchase domestically).

  • I just bought $200 of stuff yesterday using penny5 :(

  • dammm man

  • d'oh just bought something yesterday with the 5% code

    • Don't stress too much - it's only $10.

If it was a weekday then you can easily justify the reduced discount by saying you paid $10 for 'express delivery' because you didn't have to wait for another day (to apply the 10% code).

Of course, on a weekend nothing will get posted so my point is moot, but you get the idea.

  • Buying a Blackvue Dashcam x 5 today for my staff - any suggestions on something around 500?
