Whats that one equivalent to in the desktop line?

  • Nice deal, OP
Any way to upgrade ram to 16gb without voiding warranty? Website won't allow me to customise.

    • Exactly what I was going to say. The Customize ("build my Dell") option just lets you select software. RAM is stuck at 8GB.

      A very good deal, though!

    • +1

Dell provides Service Manuals for their products. Here's the guide for Removing the Memory modules for the Inspiron 15-7570 (after removing the Base Cover).

      https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/au/en/audhs1/inspiron-1…

The procedure is fairly straightforward, though I don't know the impact on warranty (if any).

    • +2

most notebook brands allow you to upgrade ram without affecting the warranty including dell(I found this in one of their QA when i install mine but I can seem to find it now),of course if you don't get it done(self install) when you buy the ram will not be covered as part of the original notebook.

if you'd like to get it done by them you can contact DELL order support and you can get a separate quote for that as well

    • +3

Considering there is an expectation that the customer may install extra ram (eg through building removable RAM/HD covers) I am not sure how they could say it would void your warranty.

Of course it wouldn't cover the new RAM/HD but it should cover the rest,

Good deal OP. Unfortunately I just bought this a week ago for 1200 odd :(

    • What are your thoughts overall

      • +10

That he should have waited for a week, of course. :(

        • lol

        • I was waiting for weeks after passing the Lenovo deal.. Then I bought a Dell 3000 for similar price but with lower specs.
I am also pissed off after seeing this deal!

  • +3

    Battery hour only 4-5 hours

  • Hows the quality of the Inspiron compared to say the Latitude?

    • +2

Latitude is the premium business grade range with a price to match.
Inspiron is the consumer grade range, with series 7000 being the best of the Inspirons but slightly below the XPS premium range.

      • +3

I have both an Inspiron 7000 and a latitude 7000 - quality is not even close. Latitude doesn’t have the keyboard flex, cheap plastic feeling and feels overall much more premium then the Inspiron.
Having said that, the Inspiron 7000 is better than most other consumer grade laptops
In terms of spec they are the same so no performance benefits from either

        • I thought that was the case.

I purchased Latitude notebooks at the Dell Factory outlet and the quality is good.

I purchased an Inspiron years ago and felt cheap.. I guess nothing has changed.. It is very cheap for the specs, but I think I will wait for a good deal at the Dell Factory outlet.

There is a touch screen version as well if someone interested in that for extra $5.However they are not offering the 512SSD but a 1TB mechanical drive for that

      decisions decisions…

      • Do you mind sharing the link for the yoga 520 ?

        Thanks

        • Sorry.. was going off memory (had to factor echange wn

i3 version is like $700 or so
i5 version was like $180/$250 more

I couldn't give u accurate figure as in foreign exchange, etc.

      • I actually moved on to this from a yoga 2 pro.I can tell this one is more bulkier than comparable yoga versions, haven't checked the exact weight but seems heavier too.I would have preferred 13 inch screen if i put in bit more research than jumping at the deal I've got.comparable config 14" yoga 520 for $800 sounds like a good deal

      • $800? Where is the deal? It says starting $1799

    • Do you know if the touch screen version has Wacom AES? So hard to find detailed specs :/

      • +3

Here is a penable tablet/notebook spreadsheet that you can check, hopes this will help. 😄

        • Very useful info! Thanks

      • not exactly sure what the touch is but my config says this if it means anything to you

  • 15% cashback @ShopBack

  • nvm thanks

  • By the way, for me it says the coupon code AUMPP100JUNE is a valid code but not applicable to this laptop deal?

    • +2

I got the same when I tried AUMPP100JUNE (only AUMPP80JUNE works).

      • +1

AUMPP100JUNE only works for orders above $1900

  • This is not a good deal. A couple of days ago, Dell's eBay store sold a 7700hq+gtx 1050ti gaming laptop for $1095

    • Heavy

    • Terrible screen.

    • old vs new as for the graphic cards they both cant do much other than the regular desktop work, will give you little bit extra performance by having an external card than having an internal

    hey guys just a note..
this is a good deal if you dont play games that often and dont mind the 512 gb storage only. however if you need graphics like 1050 then https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/387267 would be a good deal.
just saying otherwise good deal op.

    • +2

there is a spare SATA port for an extra hard drive if you need a massive storage

  • +1

I think you can get 15% cash back on this if you get it from the work section of the site. Did that with my recent Dell G7 purchase.

    • Did you have to provide ABN or other business ID to shop at the Business ('For Work') store?

      • +1

No need for ABN,just make sure you buy it from the "work" section of the site. It's the same laptop ☺

  • UPDATE: Added Link to the Business store (for 15% cashback)

  • +1

$150 cashback from Westpac Extras too (perhaps targetted?) Great deal!

  • The keyboard is kinda pants on the Inspiron.

If you intend to do anything more than game or type out the odd angry comment, get something better.

  • Argh…bought it yesterday :-(

Order status is Confirmed, can I cancel my order?

    • If you contact their order support team they can stop it before its shipped

  • +1

I want to buy it. How do I avail 15% cashback and ensure I click shopback link properly to get it. When I am going via shopback I couldn't find this business shop link. Can I go via shopback link and copy this business shop link and paste in the other session to get cashback? How does this work? Please guide,
    Thanks

    • +1

I use Cashrewards, but the process should be similar.

Go via ShopBack and click on [Get Deal] and when it takes you to the Dell website, copy the Business link URL into the same browser session…

      https://www.dell.com/en-au/work/shop/business-laptops-ultrab…

To confirm you're on the Business store, it should say "> For Work > Laptops & Ultrabooks > Inspiron > Inspiron 15 7000" at the top of the screen.

Add to Cart and then add the AUMPP80JUNE code, and continue the purchase without opening other websites.

  • Also I am comparing it with Lenovo V330 (14) on Lenovo Website which is currently $999 but I can avail 4.9% cashback which brings to ~$950 which is not a bad deal. Happy to people suggest which one is better.

  • No joy here with applying the AUMPP80JUNE code, any ideas?

    Sorted. :-)

  • UPDATE 2: It looks like the 15% Shopback cashback for Business customers has expired. There is now only a single 12% cashback (I assume for all customers).

  • is the 12% cashback also gone?

      Also, AUMPP80JUNE code has expired.
