I’d be surprised if there are many nerds here who haven’t heard of Umart…

    Would not recommend 1050.

    1050ti for $1000+.

    • How do you get the price to $1095? I’m seeing $1300 something

I wouldnt ever compare any laptops with Dell… Dell in my opinion is quite shite XD

    • I agree - BUT their XPS series have always been very good to myself and my customers.

  • Good deal - my normal BUY price is $1208.23 ex from Distributor.

  • Not worth it. You can get a 7300hq/1050ti Acer Nitro 5 laptop with ~$950. Plus the 7700hq is an older gen CPU.

    • WHERE?

      Amazon $1199
      Gumtree $1179

I haven't seen one in Australia for that price since OzBargain had one ages ago.

Also you say 7700HQ is an older CPU then compare with 7300HQ. i7 vs i5 of same gen? What?

I like the Nitro don't get me wrong we sell them quite a lot but I don't think we're comparing fairly ATM?

What I meant was that you could get this price by buying from Amazon America and ship to Australia (the price was $950 + shipping the last time I saw, now it is actually USD $699/AUD $984 + shipping, but still). The shipping is only ~$30 anyway. And for a gaming laptop GPU is way more important than CPU: 1050ti can run PUBG smoothly but 1050 cannot, which is huge.

For the "older gen CPU" I was referring to the newest ASUS FX series laptop FX504, which is of the same spec except a newer gen CPU in their cheapest model. It costs $948 + shipping on Newegg (again, from America). Before you say that it is a i5 here, 8300H actually
        performs marginally better
than 7700HQ, while using less power and generating less heat.

Ah - OK. Got it. Each to their own - but I don't buy grey imports any more. Samsung, Altec Lansing, HTC, and Asus have all in the past refused me warranty on faulty overseas devices. They check the model and if it's not AU adios. I know Dell and some corporate Toshiba models are OK (specifically have global warranties) but not all do so buyer beware.

I simply don't do it any more it was costing me more than the couple of hundred I'd save.

Even recently bought a Razer Stealth (last year) direct from Razer (who do warrant in Australia), but the first one kept locking up multiple times a day. Sent it back got another which did the same thing. They had it picked up sent to Sydney for repair, came back and it was doing it again. One more swap later and I still had a locking up device. 3 MONTHS later and fighting for my money (really stressing!!!) they finally let me send it back for STORE CREDIT (wouldn't give me refund). So the only thing I felt was safe was to buy a different device (the Blade) instead. Luckily that one has been pretty good (no lock ups but at the start had some blue screens which Windows Updates seem to have fixed), but that damn thing was another $1000 or so more that I wasn't really keen on spending.

All this to replace an Asus UX31A which was four years old, flawless, and my only concern was it was running a little hot. After I got the Razer I decided to take the old device to Asus in Malaga and they fixed the cooling and a new keyboard for $88. Should've just done that in the first place instead of spending over $3000!

          TL:DR!

My experience with overseas stuff is not good so I usually don't do it any more.
