Elna EL2000 Sewing Machine $99.00 @ Spotlight

180
SPAWELCOM

The Elna EL2000 is back on sale for $99.00 for VIP members (can join for free in-store).

Good solid machine for those not confined to a sweatshop in Shandong Guangdong Province.

If buying online for delivery use code 'SPAWELCOM' for $10.00 off.

NB: A notice in-store notes that their catalague initially said it had a "1-Step Button Hole" feature, when it should have read "one 4-Step Button hole" feature. Seems to be fixed now.

  • Shandong has A$400/month minimum wage now. The sweatshops are moving west.

thanks, was just about to post the code.

Unfortunately it is only delivery and not click and collect :(

  • Got this couple years ago. Running great. Does most of the jobs for clothing.

  • I'm always losing buttons from my shirts. I can hand sew them but it's a strain on my eyes. Can someone comment on how well the button sewing feature works?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VVBxSolYZE - check out the last 5 mins in the video where they show you to sew a button.

      • Thanks. Do the holes have to be at a standard separation or can the machine adapt to various sizes? Some buttons, like on coats, are larger.

        • I haven't used it personally, sorry I can't answer. I am thinking to buy as well.

Hopefully I decide before the deal runs out :)

    • I would get better magnification glasses, you can buy them cheap from places like Daiso. By the time you setup the machine you could've sewed on a good number of buttons. The trick is also to add a few stitches to the other buttons whilst repairing the one that fell off.

  • I can't find the click and collect. Is there any c&c for spotlight? or I can't see it

    • they are not that fancy - its instore or delivery…

      • cheers

All hail the long, long, long awaited return of AngryChicken!

  • Got this on the last deal for my daughter's birthday.

They shipped it in an oversized box with the product box literally rattling around in a box designed for 3 of them. Then because it was oversided, Australia Post made me go across town to a main depot to pick it up. Would have been closer to pick up from a Spotlight store.

The machine itself is good. Spotlight sucks. Australia Post sucks.

Tip: If you're creating an account to get this, make sure you wait for the welcome credit. It's only $5 or $10 (can't remember) but I only found the coupon after I'd actually made the purchase and the odds of me buying something in time to use it are nil.
