  • This is tempting. Thanks OP!

  • Hi TA, do you happen to come across any 1TB m2 sata deal?

  • +1

Thanks mate, I was on the fence from last 2 days, but finally pulled the trigger today on this one.

  • +4

Dammmmnnnnnnnn my credit card keeps getting higher and higher. I probably should jump as I really need another tera of SSD.

  • +3

Nice one TA… it's now time to pull the trigger on this item.

  • +1

Thanks TA. Just what we needed, cheap cheap SSD. At this rate, we can all have NASs with SSDs in them :)

  • Extremely tempting ….

  • PIZZARSE

  • Will pull the trigger when its <$250 :D

  • Dammit, I want a 1TB for the Xbox One X - must resist.

  • Can this be added to ThinkPad E470?

  • From what I can tell, this ssd is compatible with a late 2015 iMac - has anyone done this swap and can verify it works? I understand that you need an adapter bracket like this one..

    • +1

I have not done this but a 2.5" SSD is a 2.5" SSD. It doesn't matter which one you pick for "compatibility"

  • Son of a…

    Bought the other one earlier.

      • God dammit.

The same thing always happens to me when I buy petrol.

  • Other sizes on sale?

  • Shopping Express do Tax Invoices don't they?

  • new to this.. does this laptop have a spare slot and would this SSD fit/work in this?
currently its got a 512GB SSD only..
    https://www.asus.com/au/Laptops/ASUS-VivoBook-S15-S510UQ/

    • Depends what drive it has, if it has a 2.5" then you can swap it out. Apparently the s15 has a 5400rpm 1tb which is definitely 2.5"

      • depends
I think some laptop needs really thin ssd/hdd

2.5" does not indicate the thickness though

I think you need to look at how thick it is to determine if it fits

i think there is two type of 2.5 inch
        -12.5-mm
        -9.5-mm

        https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/2.5-inch-12.5-mm-9.5-mm…

        • The normal 2.5" is 9.5mm thick. There are 12.5mm, 9.5mm and 7mm form factor. I think you mean if 9.5mm or 7mm will fit this notebook. 😉

        • @O O:

          okay I am confused

you saying 2.5" is 9.5mm thick

but what is the 7.5mm thickness, is that not a 2.5" laptop drive as well?
or is this called something else?

I know that some laptop does not fit a standard 9.5mm hdd/ssd
cause they are really thin type of laptops and I think needs a 7.5mm one

        • @O O:

Look at this link I posted

          https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/2.5-inch-12.5-mm-9.5-mm…

There is two variant of the 2.5"

          -9.5mm
          -12.5mm

    Wait what?
So how do I claim the difference between this and one I bought for $275 not an hour ago?

    • Cancel refund. Order this.

      • Not sure, if it’s easy to get the order cancelled. I have sent a message to seller, but he hasn’t responded yet. Not happy at all.

      • Ok, I sent them a message to cancel the original order or to see if they can just refund me the difference. cheers

      • come on… give the seller more respects. If we kept asking for cancellation just because couple dollars cheaper, soon we won't have a reputable and trustworthy seller(s) around.

Just buy more when the price is lower to make yourself (and possibly the seller) "happier" :)

feel free to neg as much as possible!!!

        • He asked for a solution and gave it. Whether it's ethical or not is another question. This is just the luck of the draw with OzBargain. Everything is bound to be cheaper again.

        • @Clear:

looks like some big price war is going on between sellers..

lot's of ppl are gonna be disappointed no matter what price is bought

what was a bargain just 1 hr or 1 day earlier is now a disappointment when we see the big price drop.

        • @pinkybrain: Yup that's right. Months ago the Chinese sellers were doing the same with Xiaomi (I think) and the prices went crazy low.

        • @Clear:

which Xiaomi items and which stores?

I always love adding more Xiaomi stuff to my collection

I am a fan of Xiaomi, the products and packaging is like apple quality
but the prices are not Apple rip off prices.

It is a shame Gearbest don't do any more good deals anymore
now that charge shipping fee etc..
I don't see much deals posted from Gearbest anymore..

Before they used to post regularly with long listings of coupon codes with free shipping.

        • @pinkybrain: I vaguely remember so I'd have to search for it. I recall Zapals and Lightinthebox being involved… maybe even Gearbest.

You'll find that a lot of the Chinese stores are cutting down on their deals as suppliers like Xiaomi have noticed the attention and raised their prices. As well as not making any money off cheap deals. It was all a strategy to get new customers in the door.

Gearbest only offer free shipping to their top 10 selling countries now. Last time I checked Australia was ranked 16th.

        • @Clear:

But why Xiaomi give a shit what the sellers are selling it at?

The sellers would have paid for the stock already..

        • @pinkybrain: Xiaomi raised their wholesale price to resellers. Like something that once cost $10 now costs $12 for example.

        • @Clear:

yeah but what does the sellers selling the Xiaomi prices cheaply matter to Xiaomi?

          What you mean by this?
"You'll find that a lot of the Chinese stores are cutting down on their deals as suppliers like Xiaomi have noticed the attention and raised their prices"

As I understand it, once the sellers bought the stock
they are free to sell it at what price they want or deem profitable enough..

        • @pinkybrain: Xiaomi noticed certain products (like the Dafang) were really popular and their resellers were buying more and more stock. Xiaomi decided to get some extra pocket money by increasing their prices. Now when resellers go to buy more stock they have to pay extra and can't discount as low as they previously could.

        • @Clear:

Now this explanation makes more sense

But this is a two sided coin..

          If they increase wholesale price
and sellers can't discount as much…
This will result in a drop in sales
Therefore sellers will order less stock

Now Xiaomi needs to lower the price
else they will see a drop in their wholesale stock to the sellers..

        • @pinkybrain: That is correct. One of the other reasons is because Xiaomi have expanded into European markets and want to have the share to themselves and not the resellers.

        • @Clear:

Even if they want to expand into the European market
I think most buyers are smart enough to know not to buy directly from Xiaomi at the rrp prices
vs getting it cheaper at a chinese store…

This is like the apple store selling at RRP
vs other stores, ebay and grey importers selling at much cheaper prices..

      • You can't cancel an order once it is purchased on ebay.

Have you actually tried to cancel your order in ebay?
There's no menu item to cancel…

You can request to return item though.

          Under what grounds?

"Change of mind" would most likely incur a re-stocking fee, so you'd be back to square 1.

Those buying at $275.00 bought because they thought it was a bargain, and technically it was and is. It's just $248 is even a bigger bargain. You can't always be Johnny on the spot to get the best price.

          @TilacVIP:

Why are you respond to my post?

        • @TilacVIP: I don't know that it is a bargain though, I bought into some of these deals over the last couple of days and now feel a bit bummed.

It seems to me that the price of these drives is likely dropping permanently and this is all some sophisticated way to get the most profit out of us by essentially giving retailers deals that cause these to essentially be doing a reverse auction.

Once they have sold out of all this old stock if the new models just drop down to this price it's consumers getting Ozbargained not getting an Ozbargain.

There used to be a time when shit would get sold below cost to clear the way for new stock, it's much less common now, inventory management, logistics, bulk rebates and contracts are much more sophisticated….it's all a little scammy IMO.

  • +1

OMFG this is getting too hard to resist, please OZB it before I give up.

  • Haha quite the price war today!

  • How are these compared to the 860 Samsung and drives?

    • A quick google search will let you know. There's plenty of comparison sites out there. Id suggest also checking YouTube

    • Highly competitive in performance against the Evos, at a lower cost. Best to go for 500GB or higher though.
That 1TB drive is the bargain of the SSD week, there I said it.

  • Anyone know if only Cash Reward offering the highest rate cashbacks for eBay atm?
