Reflex paper on page 1 is cheap.

    • +4

Quick reflexes you've got there JV

      • It's also 550 pages instead of the usual 500 !!!

    • I've been using the cheapest Officeworks brand for $3.49/ream I think? Haven't had any issues with it.

      • +1

I find the Reflex paper is better quality.

The cheaper brands tend to 'ripple' more when there is a bit of humidity.

        • Maybe Officeworks have been using everyone for $3.49/ream?.

No doubt they prefer a 'rippled' type as it feels better in use?

    • +2

kinda. you get 10% more which I've not seen before. you can get a carton of 2,500 reflex from Officeworks for $25 though. Free delivery if you buy $55 of stuff. reams of paper can be heavy, the Officeworks delivery guy hates it when I buy loads of paper.

Good find OP. Wish amaysim was on sale too…

    • I went with Belong instead on Amayasim - $25 vs $30 for 5gb/month, and the remaining data rolls over. Any reason why I should have gone with Amayasim?

        Telstra outages?

        • 4 week instead of a monthly billing cycle might be worth $2 or so when averaged out

  • Can you use those Optus/Telstra modems with any data sims and other providers?

    • +4

Optus’s modems are all unlock I believe, so u can use any provider as u wish, not sure about telstra

    • +1

Telstra one are locked. I had to pay $25 to unlock mine

Just a note on the belong starter kits.

Coles were doing the $25 for $10, if you activate the sim and use a referral code you and the referrer get an extra $20, giving you $45 credit. this means that's if you select the $10/ month option you get 4 months for $10/$12.50, your fifth month will cost $5.

You can activate using paypal as the nominated payment and then deautherise the payment if you want to not pay after the first 4 months.

    • +1

Keep in mind that once you deauthorise they'll bill it to the account.

Got stuck with an $45 charge and didn't use the plan. Bill's on the account now.

    • and then deautherise the payment

You'll still have a debt, though they will probably not pursue it. It is not "prepaid".

quick question - you can buy the $40 kit and sign up for the $10 plan instead right? The credit just gets banked and used the following month?

  • Do people here constantly buy starter kits? Isn't it annoying always changing your number?

    • Yes that's what dual SIM phones are for so u can switch numbers/port with less pain. One day I'll be over it but at the moment I have 6 months of Sims to use up.

    • it is called SIM hopping

    • With Belong, don't you just activate a new number and then gift the data to your original SIM? I'm about to buy a couple. Please tell me if that won't work. Thanks

      • This seems like the easiest solution rather than porting out and back in. As I'm assuming doing that you lose any accrued data.

Set your main account to $10 a month
Activate all your other sims using new emails for each (can put dots in a Gmail address to make it look like a new address) using PayPal
Gift the data to your main account
Cancel the other sims and revoke the PayPal authorisations

  • Anyone know what the expiry date is on the Belong kits?

    • +2

I believe they must be activated a year from the date of purchase (they are marked as sold at the time of purchase when they scan the barcode on the back of the pack). This is based on the previous deal posting where someone mentioned you have a year in which to activate.

      • Thanks. They seem to go on sale reasonably often, so I might wait a bit. Don't think I'll be missing out on this kind of deal.

  • Can use the modem with kogan sim?

  • I want a telstra wumifi modem with long expiry. Does such a thing exist yet or are they still bending us consumers over?

    • You should be able to get one from the wumifi store.

      • I blame my phone

        • You should blame your wumfi

My local post office ran out of the $30 Telstra sim, but I picked up the Belong $10 sim for $5.
Nice given the data is unlimited, albeit shaped to 64kbps after the first 1Gb per month.

was thinking getting the telstra one but sorry noob question - what is "unlimited data banking" using internet to access your banking..?

    • You can "bank" an unlimited amount of unused Data every time you recharge.

      • so buy a sim for 30 days and if you have 10GB plan and only use 5GB, then you recharge you'll get 5+10GB = 15GB for the next month?

if so, all good these are just sim's we are trying to get for family when they come to australia for a holiday to use as a one off and 2.5GB should be enough for them (only here for a week)

        • so buy a sim for 30 days and if you have 10GB plan and only use 5GB, then you recharge you'll get 5+10GB = 15GB for the next month?

Correct, also the Telstra has 5GB bonus if you activate before 2/7

  • I have read that the portable router might cause high pings. Have anyone tested this with gaming?

  • Is the $20 Belong deal always going to be $20 ie its not a one month offer?

    • Expires 15/7, but just like all ½ price sales, give it a week of so…

  • What's the maximum someone has banked using Belong Mobile?
