Etihad is one of the best airlines out there - their 'The Residence' First Class is legendary. It's pretty good at the back of their plane too - on a combination of A380s / A330s (usually).
This isn't available directly on Etihad's site - I had to hunt around, and well, via FlightScout it shows up, and actually ends up a few dollars cheaper than their advertised price.
Personally I can recommend March / April as a fantastic time to visit South Africa - especially if you're after wildlife, it's not too hot, the grass in the game reserves is at a respectable level to see over and the animals aren't hiding in the heat of the day.

This won't sound very OzBargain-like or me-like but I think spending $200 extra for a direct Qantas flight from Sydney (via Bestjet) that's 14 hours shorter might be worth it for many.
I am a little bitter since I was cocky enough to think I could sleep on a plane and ended up staying awake for 2 days coming from Europe. The "free food" and "hotel in the sky" weren't as rewarding as I'd hoped. Of course in my twisted world if it was $100 vs $300 I'd put up with anything for such a saving…
