      So, is this one $845 for 64gb model, still a good deal? Or was the above just a really good deal?

      Just wondering whether it's worth it if new models are coming out soon-ish(?), maybe those are worth the extra $ or the pixel 2 will drop in price after the new phone's available?

        If we combine with shopback cashback then it can go further down to $828 for 64GB so $71 difference .
        Both looks good deal depends on preference. ( money or storage )

  just read up about these, apparently the XL models use LG branded glass so the quality is actually inferior to the regular pixel 2 as that one uses Samsung's glass

    Without knowing beforehand, you wouldn't be able to tell that the Pixel 2 was made by HTC and the Pixel 2 XL by LG — they're that similar. But when you dig a little deeper, the lineages are clear: the Pixel 2's AMOLED display (which is actually made by Samsung) is clearly better than the washed-out, problematic LG-made pOLED display on the Pixel 2 XL
