Looks like Bunnings is Price beating Amcal

    • Thanks for the link, I've been looking for a good price for silver oxide SR44 batteries and Bunnings don't carry them. Will be getting OW to pricebeat Amcal's $2.95. Much cheaper than the $4.65 I've seen at my local Woolies.

  • I wonder how these batteries specifically the CR2 compare to those low cost ones at Jaycar etc ‘Lisun’.
Like the regular price of Panasonic/branded 11.95 vs 5.95. Is just ridiculous.

    • I haven't seen any reviews. The CR2032 are even cheaper at $2 shop near us. Even cheaper than AliExpress.

8 x CR2032 for $2. From past experience there isn't an obvious difference. The problem is the discharge times are so long.

      • That sounds like the opposite of a problem

    The twin pack of 2025 & 3.90

Remember everyone, when these batteries are depleted, don't throw them in landfill as they likely will pollute and leak into waterways.
Instead, take them to your local Aldi who will recycle them.
Even better, simply buy rechargable ones so you save even more!

    • Bunnings also has battery recycling facilities at some stores in VIC - https://www.bunnings.com.au/about-us/our-actions/reduce-wast…

      @MathNerd,
      Sadly,

Whilst any brand of battery can be brought back, only AA, AAA, C, D and 9V sized batteries (rechargeable and non- rechargeable) are accepted through the program.

For automotive, button and other battery sizes, please visit RecyclingNearYou.com.au to find your nearest drop off point.

It was so convenient when Officeworks used to accept batteries for recycling. :/

    • Don't think there are rechargeable CR2032.

      Didnt know that! Thanks.

  • My local were out of CR2032's the last few times I've visited :(

Ebay selling cr2032 for $4.50 Panasonic 5pc with free delivery

    Thanks OP.

Nice to see first thanks mssg coming.
Thanks for your thanks mate :)

      • The CR2032 price is reasonable for that brand. My wife's kitchen scales get used maybe 4 times a year and the battery is dead. The CR2032 in my stepdaughter's PC still works after 11 years.

        • +2

For rarely used kitchen scales, take the battery out when not in use. Saves the battery from unnecessary draining and the risk of battery leaking and ruining scales.

        • @MiniMoo: Sensible advice though rather inconvenient.

        • +1

@PJC - I feel your pain, that's the reason I despise battery powered scales. I might travel with check-in luggage once every year or three, and when we had CR2032 scales the battery was always dead. I ended up buying non-digital ones with a big arrow and a scale. They never go flat, and they actually work better than the digital ones!

        • +1

@greenie4242: I wish they took AAA, I'm rich in those.

        • @greenie4242: I'm still using the original button cell that came with my scale. I think your have a poor quality cell or scale.

        • @PJC: I have modified some gadgets in the past to accept AAA or AA cells. 2032 batteries are 3V, so if you can hook a double-AAA battery holder up to the button cell socket it'll work just fine. Trouble is 2032 cells are normally used on thin gadgets, so the AAA holder might have nowhere to sit.

        • @greenie4242: No, I'm sure there's no space for that. I assumed the CR2032 would last as long as it does in a PC. I'll just have to put this one down to experience.

Daiso sell CR2032 twin packs for $2.80, everyday price. They are Mitsubishi cells. Cheaper unit price than this deal, if you don't mind that they're not Energizers.

Ikea sells an 8 pack for $3.99: https://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/80291156/

Hahaha, noticed that the specs state that this product requires assembly. Do they give you the metal and the chemicals… :D There is even a link to a manual which just turns out to be warnings in many languages.

    • Nope, just an Allen key!

  • +1

I've had problems with ebay batteries. Usually last a short period.

  • Ive been looking for a discount on CR123, havnt seen any for years!!

  • Ikea do an 8 pack of the CR2032 for $3.99.

Never had any issues, and last just as long as Energizer.

    https://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/80291156/

    • It's weird but in my PoGo+ the Ikea's last about 3 days, Energizers last about 2 months…

      • Any other info on the Pogo+? I bought rechargeables and a charger but it didn't work out, the + was powered but refused to connect with the rechargeable LIR2032 but would work fine again straight away with normal CR2032. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • I'm guessing this deal has expired? cr3032 is back at 9.49 online and in store (just visited today).
