Singapore Airlines' Spontaneous Escapes promotion is on again with 30% off selected SQ operated reward flights in Economy and Business.
This time around we see flights from Syd/Can/Bris/Ade/Per to Singapore (Perth the best deal of that bunch, with an eligible Business seat setting you back 22,750 miles/ 26,460 Velocity pts - SQ216, on SQ's new Dreamliner is elgible).
Although there aren't any locally departing long-haul flights, there’s plenty of value to be had if you're commencing travel in Asia (or can book a cheap positioning cash fare). For example, Singapore to Johannesburg in SQ’s fantastic A350 lie-flat Business Suite is priced at just 31,500 miles/ 42,525 Velocity pts). A quick round-trip price query for this flight in July comes to $7,500 (or 63,000 miles/ 85,050 Velocity pts). South Asia to South Africa is a great value redemption without the discount, especially from somewhere like Bali to Cape Town with a free stopover (see guide), so this is a steal if you can build it into your plans.
KrisFlyer clearly outlines the eligible flights and any 'black-out' dates, where discounted seats are unavailable (this is the easiest way to search).
If you have Velocity points, here’s a guide on how to transfer your points to KrisFlyer.
Note, the discount applies to eligible flights at the final payment screen (not the initial reward flight selection).
