ok so about $30 per "generic" cartridge … how much are generic for these on Ebay ?

If you want to talk about "our generics are better" state in what way that buyers can see and justify rather than based on "generic" faith.

Cheaper on ebay, from multiple sellers. $14each. No deal

      • Yes, No doubt there are cheaper ones and you get what you pay for as well.

But I don't get what I pay for with your product. It looks (and probably is) exactly the same as the other ones on ebay. You can't prove otherwise

OP trying to pass off their product as a premium toner yet even the pic they use is generic.

    Let's do a comparison:

    OP $392.20 $131.95
    https://www.newcastlestore.com.au/tn-2350-premium-generic-to…

    Ikola $94.00
    https://www.ikoala.com.au/product/91884/brother-printer-tn-2…

    Cartridges.com.au $124.95
    https://www.cartridges.com.au/brother-tn-2350-premium-generi…

    Austic $104.99
    http://www.austic.com.au/tn-2350-premium-generic-toner-cartr…

    Hottonerink $104.99
    https://www.hottonerink.com.au/product/tn-2350-premium-gener…

And that's just the first 4 results that use the exact same image from Google image results.
OP, I think you have never sold this for $392.20 You may want to look up the ACCC rules about doing that before someone reports you.

Personally, I would get it from Cartridges.com.au, they have an 'If we can't beat it, it's free' promise.
And as you can see above, I found it cheaper. Details here:

Excellent points. The eBay vendor I linked to is even cheaper and I have purchased generic ink cartridges from them at least 5 times (not an error this time!) for a relative's printer.

      • +2

Yes, I should have added that members should look on eBay or other sites to find it even cheaper.

I just thought their pic looked very generic and have just compared sites that use the exact same photo.

Associated OP needs to sharpen his pencil and return with an undeniably authentic bargain.

        • OP edited this listing on the 14/6/18 to reduce price from $131.95 to $99.95. 5 days after this 'bargain' was originally posted.

Comments and votes on this page from members are based on the original price.

However, they are still not the cheapest available and they have made a threat towards a member.

@xev: Associated OP refuses to take OzBargain - Australia's largest buying community - seriously. If you had done something wrong the Moderators would have taken action.

        • @PJC: Yes, authentic bargains are always welcome.

Especially if it is a bargain on Toner for the FS-6030mfp

Be careful there, what if they use your comment to report to ACCC to bring down Ozbargain!? That'd be farcical.

But then it's not like something I haven't seen.

    Hi Xev,
    1. There is no law regulating RRP Price in Australia.
    2. The RRP price is supplied by my supplier, not me.
    3. Stating that I am doing something illegal is untrue and slanderous and I request that you withdraw your comment and apologise as I will be seeking legal advice on this matter.
    4. I have also dropped the price as I have negotiated with my supplier for an end of financial year special until the 30th of June 2018 or while stocks last.
    Thank You

If the cap fits, wear it. The RRP was quoted by you, not your supplier. On the subject of RRP …

      Hello hello hello

I see the mistake here, you didn't do as I suggested and look up the ACCC rules

It's ok, I have done it for you. It was really simple, I typed 'ACCC RRP' into the google machine and it was literally the first result:

      Price displays

There are laws about the way prices are displayed. Prices should be genuine and you should be able to easily see the total price of anything advertised. If multiple different prices are displayed on a product or in advertising, the business has to fix the display or sell you the item for the lowest price.

And if we click on the link Displaying prices

Prices displayed by a business must be clear, accurate and not misleading to consumers.

And here is the bit I am reffered to:

      Two-price comparison advertising

Businesses often make comparisons between product prices being charged and:

the company's previous pricing (including 'was/now' or 'strike through' pricing or by specifying a particular dollar amount or percentage saving)
      the 'cost' or wholesale price
      the competitor's price
      the recommended retail price (RRP).

Businesses that use such statements must ensure that consumers are not misled about the savings that may be achieved.

Statements such as 'Was $150/Now $100' or '$150 Now $100' are likely to be misleading if products have not been sold at the specified 'before' or 'strike through' prices in a reasonable period immediately before the sale commences.

Such statements are also likely to be misleading if only a limited proportion of a product's sales were at the higher price in the period immediately before the sale commences. The volume or proportion of sales that may result in such statements being misleading will depend on the circumstances of each case.

The length of the period will depend on factors such as:

the type of product or market involved
the usual frequency of price changes.

If a business has a policy or practice of discounting goods when not on sale and uses two-price advertising in relation to sale periods, there is a significant risk that the use of two-price advertising will involve conduct that is misleading. The business would be representing to consumers that they will make a particular saving if they purchase the item during the sale period, when this is not necessarily the case.

Similar considerations apply to the specification of dollar amount or percentage savings such as 60% off.

      Misleading comparisons

Comparisons between 'cost/wholesale' and 'sale' prices can be misleading if the specified 'cost/wholesale' price is greater than what the business paid for the goods. Consumers may be more likely to purchase goods if the gap between the wholesale and retail price is perceived to be smaller than what it actually is.

Price comparisons can also be misleading where, for example, a business uses a competitor's price for identical goods, but that price is taken from a different market or geographical location.

Depending on individual circumstances, businesses using statements such as 'savings' or 'discounts' when comparing a sale price to the recommended retail price (RRP) may be misrepresenting potential savings if the product has never been sold at the RRP or the RRP does not reflect a current market price.

      Tips for displaying two-price advertising

It is good business practice and fair trading risk management to keep records substantiating any two-price price claim. You may be required to substantiate such a claim to an ACL regulator, including the ACCC.

It is also important to remember that a 'sale' or 'discounted' price should only be available for a limited period. This is because if a reasonable amount of time has elapsed and an item is still 'on sale', the discounted price effectively becomes the new selling price, so it may be misleading or deceptive to continue to call it a 'discount' or 'sale' price.

Now, I am not your Mum so you can do further research and find out what the penalties are for such an offence.

In your comment above you stated 'Stating that I am doing something illegal'.

That statement by you about me is untrue and slanderous and I request that you withdraw your comment and apologise.

To think, If you had just spent a few minutes on google to look it up as I suggested you wouldn't have made a fool of yourself.

And please do seek legal advice on this matter, some lawyer will get a good laugh as he prepares a bill for you.
