Probably a good idea to put prices in title bud!

every time there's an ssd deal, I get pretty excited.

but then I think, hey, I don't have a use for another ssd :( kinda sucks :D

    • well …i have 1 tb would like 2 tb but the bigger drives are still bit pricey per gb if you already have 1 tb drive …. more a want than need.

the 500 gb is a nice price though and some family members need to move from win 7 to win 10 on laptops so its a good time to swap out.

      • precisely! it's a matter of preference, but I struggle to fill 256gb ssd's on both my windows machines.

media collection is stored on external huge drive anyway, and if I want to watch something on a flight, I just load onto the device as needed..

essentially you only need ssd as your boot and programs drive, and I have never hit the ceiling for this on any of my previous machines.

  • These 1-2tb models seem to be getting better priced lately

    • still that $300 1tb and $600 2 tb mark as a rule. of thumb.

would have expected 2 tb to be cheaper per GB as they only add nand and it’s one controller and case

      • Looking fwd to the day bulk storage could shift to these, probably need 4-8tb but one day… Than hard drives can go there way.

  • Waiting for m.2 SSD sales. but this is soo tempting

  • Prices on SSDs bad again? I think I got the MX300, M.2 SSD 1TB from Amazon for less. Also put it in an m.2 -> 2.5 caddy so when I get a machine which can take an M.2 directly, I can just put it in.

(no, the MX300 isn't NVME, it's just regular SATA but it's small as heck, less space needed in your case / cables)

  • Grabbed the 250GB. Thanks.

  • Want to get the 2TB but will regret it later.

Still waiting for 6TB for $200…

  • damn… bought this with the PAMPER20 code when it was $198 (-20%)… it's $197 (-20%) now.. OzB fail on my part!

it is normal price now. I got 250G MX500 for $75.

  • Also seen the lowest local price yet for a 4TB SSD ($1303.44 after the coupon, plus free/variable postage):

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SSD-860-EVO-4TB-Samsung-V-NAND-2…

I bought one (and will be making an appointment to attend NAND Addicts Anonymous) but it left me with some hesitation about recommending the store, as I came home to it sitting in my letterbox. Authority to leave, for a $1300 item :-/

    • I just need 12 of these for a really nice NAS

      • Seriously tho, putting that in a NAS is a waste with limited 1Gbps Ethernet

        • +1

Friend, thats assuming its a 1gbps nas. Many have sfp so 10gbit is no issue

  • Ugh…That 500GB one…

  • Why get this when you could buy the Ramsta S600… practically the Eneloops of SSD's

    • Reliability. If an SSD crashes, it's often impossible to get the data back.

  • Hi are these compatible with this https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Aspire-i5-8250U-GeForce-A515-51G-515J/dp/B075KCJHMD/ref=redir_mobile_desktop?encoding=UTF8&psc=1&ref=oh_aui_i_d_old_o0_img
