At the moment at BWS, if you scan your Woolworths Rewards card when purchasing, you will earn at least double the usual amount (1 point per dollar) of Woolworths Rewards Points, with the potential to instead receive 3 or 10 times the usual point amount, as well as either a 10000 or 20000 lump sum of points at random. It may still be better value to get your grog from Dan's, Costco or First Choice, but if you have a BWS close by or you like collecting Qantas Points, this promo can help you earn more points faster. Note this offer excludes Woolworths Online purchases and usual Woolworths Rewards exclusions.

2000 Woolworths Rewards Points = $10 to spend at Woolworths = 870 Qantas Frequent Flyer Points.

    Whilst it technically is a competition, you are guaranteed to earn at least double the usual amount of points no matter what, which is why I posted it as a deal and not a comp. I guess we'll see what the mods think.

    Similar deals have been posted in the past (eg: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/344021) but that example didn't give you the opportunity to possibly earn more by random chance.

    Since there is a 100% chance that you can get at least 2x points per scan, it can both exist as a deal and as a competition. (It satisfies a deal post criteria)

    For anything that does not have a 100 percent certainty, then it is a game of chance and it would be a competition. (edited)

  Do you need to opt-in for this competition because the T&C's state :

  The Promoter may use any personal information that a Registered Cardholder has provided to it for the purpose of running the Promotion…

  It also says it will publish the name of the winners…

    that's just a legal formality and also a requirement for the sake of a fair competition. If you run a comp, you must publish the details of the winners within 48 hours of the draw.

      Not without their consent to enter though.

      Is this competition opt-in?, or is it for all Woolworths Rewards members? as I didn't receive an email asking me to accept it…

        Looks like becoming a Woolworths Rewards member puts you in the running automatically.

        That wasn't in the conditions when I joined, so I've never consented to it…

        If they published any details, they'd need to prove I consented.
