actually I think of 100s of things I'd rather do than this but I'm happy for those who are so passionate about it. upvote for a good deal.

I bet the process fee from ticketek is about the price of 1 ticket

    • Can you please list at least 200 things you would rather do? I'm not a huge rugby fan so I'd love to see two hundred things that you think are better to do than watch the QLD vs NSW State of Origin.

Glad you let us know. Do you intend on letting us know each time a deal doesn't relate to you?

      • he's probably one of the anti gun deal SJW's

90,000 fans ? Really. Only sold 20,000 so far and will be lucky to get to 50,000 with corporate boxes and FREE ticket giveaways. So wait for the free tickets they are that desperate!

    • All MCC seats are sold out

    • +1

      20,000? Source?

    • +1

Last NRL SoO in Melbourne was over 90,000 in attendance. Not bad considering it's two away teams

    • +1

They wouldn’t be offering discounted tickets if they weren’t getting desperate. I’d wait though as they’re likely to get more desperate. They’ll be giving tickets away to avoid a half empty stadium.

    • idk where you got your stats from, but you are incredibly wrong. It was the biggest SOO turnout in Origin history in 2015 at the MCG. Probably even considered one of the more successful events for the NRL + Vic Gov gets a shit tonne of money.

    • There expecting 80000 plus we’d night

why the heck is this in Melbourne, honestly…..

The Victorian Government paid a shitload of money to the NRL

      • +1

To be more specific NSW NRL sold one of their games to the Victorian government for pooload of money, its classed as a NSW home game.
They do it because of 2 reason:
        1) Regardless of how many people show up, the payment from Vic Gov will still cover the cost of the game.
        2) Ensure that all fans are watching on TV back in NSW so they can maximise TV commercials revenue.

        • +1

          3) A good chunk of the players actually reside in Melbourne
          4) Melb is the sporting capital of the country
          5) It's a neutral venue for a 3 game series
          6) TV rating in Melb increase because the local media gives it more attention.

          @supabrudda:

          4) Melb is the sporting capital of the country

          Shitty sports, sure.

        • @PainToad: nah just more sports mad. Not fair weather supporters like you brizzos.

  • Whoever decided the MCG could get decent League numbers is a moron

  • Im getting no tickets left with the above code. Silver, Gold or Platinum

    • You have to go to the best available category to see the 2 for 1 offer but even when you select that I am getting a message saying there are no tickets available

      • Yeah i see the 2 for 1 offer but am getting the same message as you.

        • You can get ground level tickets (not able to select the area you'll be seated) from viagogo at $38 each. I would guess these would be the same as what is offered by this 2 for 1 deal

        • Thanks, just going to try wait for ticketek. Cause im getting the same error msg even when im not using the code on normal priced tickets and its definitely not sold out.

  • Is anyone having difficulty using this discount code. It is giving me the following error:

"There aren't enough tickets to meet your request right now. Please try a different ticket category or type, with a reduced quantity of tickets.
If you receive this message even when selecting only one ticket, all remaining tickets are being transacted by other customers."

Even when only selecting 2 tickets

    • Working again as of 11 30am

      • Except it wanted to sell me Platinum tickets at $525 for 3 tickets (6 people)… a bit more than the 2 people for $75 as indicated

        • +1

          You're welcome mate.

That's exactly what was indicated as it is half of the selling price.

You will see i've included $75 as a 'from' price for silver tickets. I don't think a reasonable person would expect to receive tickets valued at $350 for $75 based on my post.

        • Haha my mistake, you have to go to the actual category you want to buy otherwise it tries to sell you platinum tickets

        • +1

          @MaKa:

Yeah who would have thought selecting 'best avaliable' would mean the website would try sell you the best available tickets.

  • No tickets left. Annoying.

        Spoiler Alert:

NSW should win by 19+ with the QLD squad as is, Cook will have an absolute field day.

any deals for game 2? cannot for orgin. GO NSW BLUES!

  • +1

Inglis and Chambers will be having a field day outwide next Wednesday as both Mitchell and Roberts can't tackle for shit!

    QUEENSLANDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Inglis is a N.S.Welshman and neither can catch The Fox

  • I still don't get how a QLD vs NSW game is being held in VIC..

Upvoting for a good deal, but I'm not going to go down as it'll end up more expensive with transport costs.

    • Same reason as the F1 - eyes on Melbourne, the sporting capital of the country

      • The difference is the F1 isn't QLD vs NSW.. I can't imagine that many Melbournians would care about State of Origin??

Furthermore, almost anyone from QLD or NSW who is after a bargain won't happen to be in VIC at that day. Unless two return tickets to Melbourne is under $75?

        • No one cares about F1 either.

yeah not many do care about NRL in Melb, yet over 11,000 more people turned out to watch it in a cold & rainy night then they did in Sydney.

Furthermore, almost anyone from QLD or NSW who is after a bargain won't happen to be in VIC at that day.

I will be, along with 13 mates, some cane toads, some cockroaches, some locals who just want to experience the rough & tumble of the game.

        • @supabrudda: yeah that's true but I can't imagine that many Queenslanders would fly down to Melbourne just to watch the State of Origin..
It's trying to create interest for Melbourne. It seems like it could be working (surprisingly) but it's hard to know if this is just because of the cheaper tickets and deals.

  • There were 'restricted view' tickets available for $15 yesterday. They are in the closest few rows of the lower level, so the advertising around the playing area will reduce the view a bit…

    • I picked these up. They're in the members area and come with a free scarf and beanie.
