    What's the bargain?

    • $50 off the world's most useless product.
      Bargain!

      • +2

not if you can’t afford to rent and are living in your car ….

        • +1

Can't afford most probably cuz u buy such shizz

        • -3

…which is illegal unless you are living in your car in your private driveway…but then you have a house attached to that driveway lol

        • +9

          @andrgram:

          And?

Seriously, illegal… if your car and clothes is all you've got in life, illegal doesn't matter. It's not like you can magically produce a house because the law says you're in the wrong.

        • +2

          @andrgram:

          which is illegal

Could you please provide a link to a legislation that supports your claim?

    • +6

if this was xiaomi people would be going crazy …heck xiaomi charges $25 for a $10 self opening umbrella.

      • Very true.

      • +1

heck xiaomi charges $25 for a $10 self opening umbrella.

And McDonalds charge $10 for a meal that costs them $2.50 to make, what's the difference?

        • +10

eating the umbrella will cut your gums up badly.

  • +9

If only my car had a roof to protect me from rain, snow and falling objects!

    • buy a hard top and not a convertible next time

      • Or maybe they should just bring out a metal version of this umbrella.

        • +2

a metal roof for my car would really protect the metal roof of my car.

    • +1

Honestly though, this thing is about heat. Which it should work brilliantly for. It's not useful for anything else.

  • +10

If I saw this being used in the street I’d assume that the owner was 99.9% a knob

    • +1

Why the 0.1% I’d think they’ve gone full knob

      • +4

        You never go full knob.

    • I agree… Love the concept but wouldn't put it on my car ever

    • +3

not sure if it’s a joke or not, watched the you tube clip and people are dropping bricks on it ????

if it’s not a joke , then i don’t think it’s designer for on street parking …. would be vandalised over night in australia, seems to be asian and in singapore they would probabaly whip you and throw you in jail, here we just say we had an alcohol fueled pot session and didn’t know what we were doing…..or at least be a target for lit cigarette butts as people make their way home from the local bars.

it’s for people with driveways but no caport or garage as UV damages the dashboard, rubber seals and paint over time if your car isn’t under cover …. i see people with car covers on their cars in the driveways if they don’t drive the car everyday porsche’s, mercs, etc.

if you have a $150k car and no garage you are limited in options…..

a lot of this stuff is for people living in 2 bedroom $1.5m houses in the inner city on 250m2 blocks and a car spot …..not people on the quarter acre block 16km from the cbd where you have a garage, carport and another car fits in the driveway, or you have the land to build a carport, and the council gives you a permit.

      • +4

User name checks out…you've sold me on garages ;)

      • Wow. Move to Perth. $500k max for a 2 bed inner city apartment :p Enough spare money to buy that ferrari and somewhere to put it.

  • Wot

  • +3

According to previous sales the people of Erldunda love this product like no-one else.

    • +2

Yes at least one bought there every hour. Those Erldundans

      • +2

Sounds like a Star Wars race of people.

    • Omg i was about to write the same 😂

      • +3

did you know that if you are standing in Erldunda, you are standing in the centre of Australia

Actually there are five points claiming to be centre of Australia, and Erldunda is right in the middle of them, making them the centre of centre

Maybe they know something we don't with all those purchases of the automatic car tents

        • +2

Maybe they know something we don't with all those purchases of the automatic car tents

          They're trialling them on camels

  • LOL looks like an April Fool's product

    • i looked at the videos and they are serious ….. shows some one in singapore or malaysia using it.

  • +14

    don’t buy this

I tried one in Europe. It blows off when you reach about 60km/hr

    • +4

Thanks for the warning, I'm not paying $400 to get blown off.

      • That's a life time blow off

    • +4

I'd be trying to get to 60km/h all the time if it meant being blown off….

    • is that for Parked car only? not for driving vehicle.

      • What's the point of that? I don't usually sit in my car when it's parked.

  • I love it.

    • +2

i’m amazed they can fit that much engineering into a $400 product ….

  • +6

Is there one for manual cars?

  • FFS

    .

  • Wankiest product award gos to the op. Outstanding effort rofl.

  • I hope I can post this before the deal gets removed.
Why not make an automatic tent tent to protect your tent?

  • +10

Excellent! Now I can leave my kids in the car all day while I partake of games of chance.

    • That's an excellent marketing idea for them.
I can't wait to see the commercials promoting it…

They should give you a commission on each one they sell…

      • The only commission here is of a crime.

  • Sweet.. I was having a problem with falling objects hitting my car. Thanks guy.

  • Video showing its operation is outstanding. It can even withstand bricks!… provided they are thrown into the absolute centre of the tent where the operating mechanism sits.

    • -1

they are asian bricks (looms like a paved or roof tile fragment) not an aussie brick….. an aussie brick is bigger and would probably do the trick.

also shows fruit (mangoes) dropping on it so must be targeted at singapore or malaysian market , unless in qld or nt we probabaly don’t have fruit dropping on cars …. branches and bird dropping’s maybe.

if only this was xiaomi …..

i could imagine a post every week where it’s $1 cheaper than the previous post and it comes with a coupon code and people comaplian about slow delivery.

      • You make an excellent point about the bird droppings though. I park under a tree sometimes and my car becomes a bombing target. That's an actual use for this product.

  • -1

Do you have one to suit my Lamborghini

    • if you have a lamborghini and no carport or garage you might actually need one …. hard to look cool going for a drive in a lamborghini covered in bird poop.
also doesn’t look cool getting the lamborghini washed at the BP drive through …. you want the hand washed car service … preferably with gender equality employment policy and dignified t-shirt uniforms for the attendees.

  • Alllllrighty…

  • I guess it would make a cheap alternative to building a carport?

  • +2

Apart from being a ridiculous product the fact they have made up "someone just bought" messages is enough to see an issue with this company.

    • +5

i hate the "someone just bought" messages.

I won't buy from any website that uses those.

      • +2

Recently an online Australian store was showing these pop-ups.

I had trouble believing them when the products being "just bought" were listed as out of stock…

  • Try taobao.com XD

Also don't use this it will leave a mark on your car.

  • +1

They had me at anti theft, now im sold !!! Wait who would try and steal this…

    • Yeah, theft is not the issue. Now, if it had anti-vandalism, that would be useful!

  • +5

Bought 3. Yes I’m from Erlunda

  • +2

I actually honestly like the idea, but not the price.
I like the idea of shading my car on 50 degree days when there is no other shade around.

But then .. i gotta carry it around on the car and deploy it which id probably be too lazy to do.

  • The only one thing that I could see this product useful is for drivers living in a place with lots of hails storm so at least you could quickly stop on the side of the road and open this UMBRELLA … Fancy!! and then watch everyone else on the road panicking looking for trees and shelters … awesome …

  • +2

Mate, this is a serious product. If you live in central Australia, you need this to keep the car cool.

  • +2

But what protects the tent from damage? I know, we need a tent for the tent!

    • +1

      Intentception

  • +1

The popup is fake. I saw someone bought from Erlundra 4, 8, 10 & 12 hours ago. While it is only an estate, cattle property.

    • I saw someone bought from Erlundra 4, 8, 10 & 12 hours ago.

      Am getting the same messages.

Someone in Erlundra must be hoarding them. Is Broden back ????

  • don't know what's with the mocking on this one

it seems like a legit product

can park whole day without getting hot

    • Yeah I don't get the hate or jokes I mean it is a bit excessive but if you have a car that is over $25,000 surely a $400 investment to keep it cool and protected from debris is worth it right? I mean I really don't need a case cover but… oh I know what this is for!!!

BIRD CRAP PROTECTOR!! Got it.. nice idea hmm haha lol now it makes sense. Protect the actual car from bird droppings and uh leaves in summer and autumn.

  • If my car was homeless, I'd buy it a tent. Just don't park it in the street or the council might move it on for vagrancy.

I wonder if they make a two story tent for my 4 wheel drive?

  • bet this tent won't protect you from all the neggers

  • Edited: found out there are various model cheaper at ebay
OP, This is Not a bargain in my books, you can also pick one up at ebay even less 5-10% with targeted vouchers. Try coming back with when you have a better offer, this is OZB after all. In fact I might consider buying one at ebay for $360 delivered after using my vouchers.
