Zambrero is giving away burritos in most states.

The locations are not given but they are giving clues for each location.

UPDATE The locations are now available.

    edit: Oops, free, sounds good

    Brisbane answer is central station

  • -1

Gold Coast is most likely surfers paradise

  • +3

Adelaide isn't even a clue, it's straight up the answer: You'll Parade yourself around Norwood for these burritos.

Which sucks because I go past 3 other stores every day, but not that one :(

    • -1

buy one get one free will be a better deal because there's a massive line whenever there's free burritos. Just less than two months ago it was at Flinders Uni and people lined up the whole day from 10 to 5pm.

    • +1

yeah wtf kinda “clue” is that when they mention the suburb and specific street

      • Help a brother out im not familiar with the area. Never mind you can see it on their facebook haha

  • +4

My guess for Sydney is Central Station (opened 1906).

  • +3

Perth is Leederville. Skate park close by.

    • +2

This is the best answer. BUT there is also a skatepark across the road from the willeton store so just confirm with the second clue in case they're misdirecting 😊

      Edit: OH, outdoor locations…
Maybe the new Scarborough skate park

      • Scarborough was my first thought. The skate park there is quite large.

        • Tale of two (English) cities: There is a Scarborough in England, but not sure why it's a tale of two cities.

        • @sharonlives: Scarborough is in the City of Stirling…

    • +3

Mirrabooka Zambreros is next to an ice skating rink…

      • +3

        And near centrelink

    • +2

Second clue is a tale of two English cities. My guess is the corner of Oxford and Newcastle Streets in Leederville.

      • They actually posted the answer on Facebook, and you're right.

  • +1

Melbourne is queens bridge, crown end

    • Is there a store there?

Or do they need to update their site.

      https://www.zambrero.com.au/locations/search?search=3000

      • They said outdoor locations so I imagine it's a pop up

      • They not doing it at the stores otherwise it would be an easy scavenger hunt.

in outdoor locations in 9 cities across Australia

    • Yes there'll be a pop up on the Crown Casino side of Queensbridge, so I've heard 😉

    adelaide looks like TTP

  • +3

Might want to mention it's only the new flavour burrito that's being given away.

  • +5

These burritos taste like trash compared to Guzman Y Gomez.

Lettuce and corn have no place in a burrito particularly when used to pad out the filling and cheap out on the meat.

    • +5

Pretty sure you can tell them not to put in lettuce or corn.

    • Totally agree!

    • And Guzman Y Gomez taste like trash compared to Chipotle. I wish the heavyweights just came over and crushed all the mediocre local chains.

      • Chipotle is trash

        • Chipotle is trash compare to Zambreros

    • +1

Disagree. The chicken is more flavourful IMO, and the sauces are far superior without question, plus the fresh salad goes very well. GyG is good comfort food, but it's very basic.
The burritos that taste like trash are Mad Mex (not what they used to be) and Salsas (not Mexican at all).

Canberra is probably the Tuggeranong store. Look on Google Maps and the paths in the area opposite the store are in a cross configuration.

Edit: Or not if it's an outdoor location. Plenty of x-es in Canberra pathways all over the city.

    • +11

Probably Veteran's Park, the path makes a X and its in the City. Tuggers is probably too far and remote for the promotion of a new line.

      • Shout out to the couple of classless young uni? chicks that after being told "it's one per person" immediately bagged theirs and returned to the back of the short line anyway. It worked but …yeah… tactless

In all honesty I'll be back there at 3pm myself

  • Sydney townhall yeah.

    • The wait in the queue will put you off

      • +1

The fact that its a pop up store doesn't bode well either.

When Guzman have their free burrito days, they have a proper store and a crazy amount of extra staff….

        • And better burritos.

    • Townhall is 132 years old, though…

  • Veintitrés de Mayo doesn't have the same ring as Cinco de Mayo.

  • Was disappointed when I saw this was only the new burrito. Can you update the title op?

  • They aren’t giving away free burritos.
Their website says ‘buy one get one free’

    • +2

It's bogof at the restaurants, freebies are at the undisclosed popups, post is misleading though, should be updated properly

    • Scroll down their website.

  • Nothing for NT 😕

  • Hobart is very vague but I suspect its Kangaroo Bay in Bellerive (Eastern Shore)

    https://www.ccc.tas.gov.au/page.aspx?u=864&c=12052

'Tasmania’s largest waterfront redevelopment project, Kangaroo Bay in Bellerive, is now open for development proposals, as Clarence City Council seeks to realise its vision for a vibrant waterside hub in the heart of the city'

  • What time is this thing happening?

    Edit: Perth between 11.30am - 1.30pm and again at 3.30pm - 5.30pm

  • From Zambrero's Facebook page:
    "🌯🌯GOLD COAST FREE BURRITO ALERT🌯🌯
On Wednesday, get yourself down to the corner of View Ave and the Esplanade, Surfers Paradise between 11.30am - 1.30pm and again at 3.30pm - 5.30pm to score one of our smokin' new Barbacoa Beef Burritos being handed out by our street team. Can't make the giveaway? Stress not! All Zambrero restaurants will be joining in on the fun, serving BUY ONE GET ONE FREE on Classic Barbacoa Beef Burritos and Bowls ALL DAY on the day!"

  • +2

In Melbourne, got there before 12, had already run out

Told to wait 10 mins, 25 mins later still nothing

There aren’t even many here looking for burritos, they must have seriously underestimated the quantity

  • Well it was Eastlands Shopping Centre - apparently the 'largest in Tasmania'.

  • did anyone find the Sydney one? I thought it may have been in Henry Deane Plaza opposite Railway Square but it was nowhere to be seen.

    • The Sydney one is here according to Facebook https://www.facebook.com/zambrero/:

On Wednesday, get yourself down to the Pitt St side of Central Station at the intersection at Railway Square Bus Terminal between 11.30am - 1.30pm and again at 3.30pm - 5.30pm to score one of our smokin' new Barbacoa Beef Burritos being handed out by our street team.

      • They ran out in like 15 minutes, lady told me to go back at 3:30. They were handing out free hats and taco vouchers (for use at the restaurants) instead.

      • Oh, the video shows it well. They must have run out and left before I arrived. Thanks!

  • Well nothing going on at the Canberra one as of 3:07pm with a 3:00pm start. Went to the nearest store where I had to wait 10 minutes for the one staff member working to make two or three burritos before I could ask them only to be told they had no idea.

edit Just went back. No-one there at 3:40pm either. I know we're at the right place because 1. it's Veteran's Park and 2. we saw the folks there at the lunchtime sesh

Why are these free promos so hard for these stores and chains to get right? What unpaid intern do they have dreaming up and executing these things?

    • I just got back from there. I went about 3:30pm and someone was handing out a zambrero flyer with "FREE" written on it. You need to go to the store to redeem it. They actually allowed me to choose any burrito, not just the beef one.

  • Thanks OP. It was delish and no wait at all!
