Are we ripping of the farmers using their discount?

I got this in my email and I'm about as far away from a farmer as you can get

Are you a logger or a land clearer?

        • Well done….I see what you did there ;-)

  • Now if only we could get 90% off the showbags we might get them at a reasonable price

    • +5

The question is why you want the showbags.

Just cheap lollies, samples and china junk.

Free flu virus with every admission!

I love hearing this comment every year. Is there actually any basis to this?

I mean, you wouldn't say this when you go to the cinema and sit 10cm from a stranger in a sealed box with 100+ other people…..just saying :-P

      • Last time I went, was when I was 18, im 38 this year. I got sick as (profanity) after going there. Sure it could have been a fluke. And my story doesnt prove anything. Just what happened to me.

    • Yeah questioning whether to take my 1.5 year old to her first ekka, mostly due to this.

    • Nice bargain! Why pay a chemist $10 to get it from a flu shot?

      • FYI the flu jab inst a live vaccine so you cant get the flu from it

      • Worth it's own post i reckon

RACQ offering same deal for racq members https://www.racq.com.au/ekka

  • Thanks - just got some from RACQ

  • "Admit 1 child. 5 years of age to 14 years of age inclusive (at time of entry).
Valid for one single entry. NOTE: Children under 4 are free."

So how much do I have to pay for my 4 year old!!!!?!?!??!?

    • You have a young ‘tweenie.
My 14yo turns 15 on 11Aug. Guess we’ll be going on the 10th.

    • I don't have kids but always wondered how they enforced this. Kids don't have ID, can't you just lie within a year or two?

  • Do u have to be an racq member to buy ticket or if u have a parent / friend that is a member can they purchase it on your behalf?

    • Can't see why not. It's just a ticket
