$20 Wine Voucher for Purchases $70 or over

7911
WINEJAN

Ok so i saw this deal else where and when i tried placing an order i got the items for free. I am in sydney and if i place an order below $10 i get the whole thing free inc shipping and insurance. You can purchase individual wine bottles and some beers too. There is a lot of choice.

I am sure this is a mistake and can't confirm whether they will fulfill the orders. Try your luck. Nothing like free beer or wine.

Edit: orders with $0 might not go through. Make it $0.01 or more and it will go through

For some areas this may not be free as deliveries varies in areas.

    • oh wow they are aware of the glitch but won't do anything about it. It seems they just can't fork out the extra money to give to their web developer to sort the problem.

  • +1

not impressed, i will be telling all friends to avoid this website if they do that. They should make their systems more secure and not waste customers time. If they are going to take the money from a persons account instantly then the deal should be honoured.

    • +3

I believe they simply can not afford this.

  • just as well i waited to monday to find out b4 ordering that it wont be honured.

  • +1

Any decent company would still go ahead or at the very least offer a damn good consolation offer.

  • No, the order of things is effectively: they can change their mind, you can't.

  • +5

Whilst their system probably should not have accepted the order, the conditions of the voucher clearly stated minimum order $70 & I think it is unreasonable to expect a company to potentially lose a lot of money when you are not complying with the voucher conditions.

  • This will no doubt hurt their reputation, although I don't mind that they had to cancel, it's understandable.

  • +2

yeah I will be steering clear of the store from now on I think. Its not worth it buying alcohol online, shipping kills the deal. better off going to dan murphy or striking a deal at your local independent bottle-o.

  • +2

what really shits me is that there still has been no response as to what is happening. they are holding onto my money with no explanation on where my goods are!

  • cancelled my order too :(

  • -2

    my order says processed…

    maybe it will go through

  • Here's their email which just arrived in my inbox:

    Dear Valued Customer,

Thank you for your order on our website. Unfortunately the terms and conditions for redemption of this Promotion $20.00 voucher (WMCJAN), requires the following:

    (1) Minimum order $70

    (2) Redemption for Wine Only - therefore excludes spirit etc plus freight & Insurance.

Unfortunately, we had a "glitch" on our website, and this had not prevented your order which did not comply with our Terms and Conditions, to go through.

We will refund your credit card payment and cancel current order, so that you can reorder in accordance with the terms and conditions.

If you have any queries, please contact the undersigned via email

  • Order rejected :( not surprised.

  • +2

    Rejected as well..

this website will certainly be blacklisted by me from now on and I will tell all family and friends to avoid it. They have not even offered a consolation, very dissapointing.

  • I got this reply to my order. They are not processing any :(

received email too… DAMNS! I was so excited I was gonna score a bottle of bubbly for $1.54 !!!! lol

    • Ditto on the order cancellation. Not too fussed as most orders made by OzBargainers were invalid anyway based on the T&Cs.

  • +2

MY order was just over $ 65 and was rejected..!!!

Well this company is a miss for me in the future..!!!

You would think they would welcome some of the orders to gain a bigger customer base…

Anyway to expensive on postage to use in the real world…

  • +1

    Yep order rejected..

  • +3

    Credit card number farming, anyone?

  • transaction cancel, bugger…

  • +11

To those whinging… stop crying. You were clearly in breach of the T&Cs.

I'm laughing at these people saying they will now boycott this company and tell their friends. How stupid. You wouldn't have ordered from them if it wasn't for you thinking you might score something for basically nothing.

    Honestly.

    shakes head

LOL @ EVERYBODY ranting over their precious dollar or less.

You knew from the start that there was zero chance of this going through.
    Waiting on my $1.57 refund and a 10% off-my-next-purchase-voucher.

    • +1

      Everybody?

      Learn to read.

    • +1

      @Ecstatic - including urself??? lol

if u knew it was 0% chance, y did u bother

      • -1

        for teh lulz?

  • Very disappointing, with some of us putting larger orders in.

Why blame carelessness as a website glitch?

Fix the problem for future orders and honor the orders that went through, would be much better for the PR

  • EPIC FAIL!!!

  • +2

If ozBargain placed 3000 orders (2600 clicks through + people who submitted multiple orders) at an average loss of $25 per order (shipping and alcohol) that would equal $75,000.

    That's a lot.

    • +2

I agree they would have lost a lot.

I disagree with your math. the average loss would have to be less than $20 per order because it was a $20 voucher (and hopefully that make a buck on normal sales). The shipping cost was part of the $20 voucher.

3000 x $15 = $45K lost if they had honoured the deal plus winning over our hearts (but would we repeat purchase?!?)

  • I have enough wines to last me another 3 yrs at least but placed an order just for a laugh to see what the fuss is all about. Guess what? My order went through and I have recieved a tax invoice.

The wine in question is a bottle of GRANT BURGE MIAMBA SHIRAZ 2008, had to pay $10 ($21 + $9 shipping - $20 voucher). Now let's see if they will actually honour this transaction.

P.S. I have ordered from them in the past (with an Ouffer voucher) so maybe I get preferential treatment?

    • I had ordered from them in the past as well - but my transaction was refused :(

  • After all this fuss, I guess the local alcohol stores are still better than online buying.

  • -2

    doesnt work

  • +2

    Anyone received their refund yet?
They're quick to take money but slow to refund.

    • Got 3 charges but only 1 refund. :(
Received no messages or anything from them.

  • nope. piss poor of them I think everyone should avoid them. take money instantly and hold on to it for days with no reply, not a good way to run a business.

  • One mistake (allowing payment to be processed that didn't comply with T&C) followed by another (tardiness in emailing the customers involved) … I haven't heard anything either. If I wasn't on this site I would think my order was being delivered.

    • no, if you weren't on this site, we'd probably all comply to the real terms and conditions. We're just tightarses here.

  • It said 'Voucher not valid'.. :(

  • I have heard nothng either.

  • Once credit cards have been batched to the bank it will take atleast a couple of days, depending on your bank, for the money to come back to your account.

This is not the fault of the merchant assuming when they worked out the problem to started refunding. Most of you are missing a dollar so it isn't a biggy for 1-2 days. You gambled and you lost. Even if you are paying interest @ 20% on your credit card it is 0.0006 cents per day….or the cost of gambling if you like.

  • i paid $5

  • I got all my money refund to the Amex except one $0.01 transaction, which might be on its way too. Nothing really worth to complain, all fair all good.

  • fair trade said have to honor deals. Its says for wine purchases over 70 doesnt say anything about beer , and thats why the vouchers was still processed.

  • what are you trying to say?

  • received refund for $1.56 for bottle of wine.

    oh well.
