Eco-Drive means the watch is solar powered, it has a rechargeable battery.
Reports from members in previous deals say that the rechargeable battery is still working in their older eco-drives after 10 years or more.

Thanks WatchNerd, very nice. Love the strap!

      Love the strap!

      Ahhh…. Good 'ol school days…

  • I'm waiting for the next Invicta deal!

    • Why?

      • Oh, sorry.

  • +4

Man, you're killing my wallet with these irresistible watch deals. 😣

    • +5

I hear kidneys are commodity you can sell so you can acquire more watches.

      • +1

kidneys are for iphone deal bro

  • +3

It was 99$ before, had always been a little over hundred bucks. 129$ seems kinda steep.

    • +2

Are you talking about when I posted it 2 years ago @ $105.00?

$129.00 is well below any price I can find in May 2018.

      • +3

OZB spirit is holding me back. :(

      • $129.00 is well below any price I can find in May 2018.

True indeed, and Australia's Largest Watch Store wanted $290 when they had stock.

    • +2

Hmm! It has been around $100 in the past eh? I am glad I didn't pull the trigger. I'll keep an eye on this watch in case it comes down around that price again as it looks great, and its size fits my wrist perfectly.

      • maybe when aussi dollar was 1:1 with us dollar but i haven’t seen it this cheap in a long time.

past prices can get skewed with exchange rates at a point in time, so can seem cheaper due to exchange rate rather than discount.

how long do you wait to buy something hoping aussie dollar goes up ?

        • +1

The thing is, I bought a bunch of watches in the last few years from deals posted here (half of them being cheapos), so I don't buy them because I need them. They're mainly impulse purchases (thanks to the OzB curse), hence why I would like to buy anything from the deals posted here as cheap as possible.

        • @AussieDaddy:

Yes i see what you mean, however this particular watch does not seem to get discounted very often in comparison to other Eco-drives. You may find it never hits the $100 mark again.

        • +2

@AussieDaddy: Me too. One watch is functional, more is bling. I've got bling. I blame watchnerd and pjc. Also, it isn't something that I was formerly interested in - it is an addiction I didn't have. I say all this with a smile though - he who dies with the most toys wins :)

Great looking watch for those of us that aren't gifted with wide wrists lol

    • Amen re wrist width. haha

    • got one for my son , he’s in primary school so good size, easy to read and a comfortable band once it’s broken in.

    • -1

      37mm is pretty tiny.
I have a small wrist but can comfortably wear a 45mm watch.

      • Lol I love your logic.

If you can comfortably wear a 45mm watch, then you sure as hell don't have small wrists!

        • What's small for a wrist, then?
The circumference of my wrist is about 17cm. It's hard to imagine someone with a wrist more petite than mine.

        • @O15:

My wrists! Anything over 38mm looks obnoxious on me

        • @O15: I thought I had the worlds gayest wrists at 18.5cm, always walking with hands in pockets for that and other reasons. You just made my day.

        • @Lps:
          You're welcome. Here to help.
My wrists have never bothered me, in fact, I'm quite content with low body-fat.

    • +1

I share your pain. Anything over 38mm looks monster size on my wrist. It has saved me cash, though. Only Seiko 5s and vintage pieces don't hurt the wallet too much.

  • +4

Finally! A watch that isn't the size of a travel clock strapped to your wrist. Thanks WatchNerd.

  • I have this watch and its water resistance is not like in the description. Keep it away from water.

A good watch to read imho - simple and good readability. It is my choice of watch for biking.

    • it’s wr100m , and that is with the crown pushed in so fine on land and the pool.

i used to dive and you need the wr200 not so much for pressure but for the screw down crown.

with wr100 it’s a good idea to get the crown seal and lubrication checked with battery changes if you use it for water activities…… if it’s a solar watch that service interval is more challenging…..no battery change every 3 years.

    • Make sure to screw down the crown before water testing…….

37mm would look like a ladies watch. I have skinny wrists and I find 40 or 41mm works best.

    • +5

You really have no clue about watches if you think 37mm watches are for ladies, the standard size for all rolex mens watches is 36mm. The only reason you think 37mm looks small is because over the past decade there has been a trend (which actually seems to be ending) of large/oversized watches.

      • Very well said, though I have not yet noticed that trend is ending.

        • Me neither. Once gotten used to its not too bad.

      • +2

it’s more than just size, it’s also shape, how the lugs taper, style and width of band , etc, etc.

i have large watches that wear better than small but it’s not due to size, it’s the shape.

i also have some smaller watches that wear great.

also a dress or field watch vs divers with bezel wear different again, and if the bezel is coin type vs rounded edges.

      • -6

You can use any metric you like to support your views, but 37mm is very small on a grown man's wrist. If it doesn't bother you go for it

        • +4

          It's not.

          It's all about proportion.

I'm a slim build male, so by your logic I should buy large shirts because it's more masculine than a small form fitting shirt lol

        • With dial like this, no need big size bezel because the numbers already large enough

      • -1

Rolex are chunkier hence look inherently manly, specs are not everything, pls check them out in person before you spend your hard earned..

        • +1

You should wear what you want and what you think looks good. Don't be a follower.

        • -4

@dangerdanger: lol there's a reason why fashion trends change, small watches are not very manly

        • @mlburnian:
They used to say that about wearing pink. Not manly blah blah blah

And small cars. Not manly etc etc

Personally 38-39mm is the perfect size for me. Don't need a 44mm panerai, or a hummer car to look manly, or feel better about myself.

PS. I didn't neg you btw

    • +2

It would wear small on my flat 7.25 inch wrist. But since there is no bezel, the increased dial size will make it wear larger. The case width is just one thing to consider though. Lug to lug width is the telling factor for most people and also lug width. This particular watch has small lugs of 18mm, so that will limit strap choices which are normally 20mm or 22mm. 18mm suits this watch though. Older gents prefer small watches since that's what their generations were brought up on.

Here's some nice unboxing photos and here too.

finally, there is a small watch can fit my wrist! OP, do you know if I can replace the band with rubber one? Just my work is closed to water. Cheers

    • No issues there. You just need to get a rubber strap with the right size. OP mentioned 22mm (unsure).

    • +1

      It's 18mm.
I have this watch and replaced the band with a black leather band.

      • Was it easy to put the leather band on yourself or did you have to get it done professionally?

I want to put a leather band also so it looks more formal in the office

        • +3

Not too hard, just used a micro screwdriver to squeeze the spring in.
But I had to buy new spring bars as the original ones were too skinny for the new band. The originals worked ok, but they were not perfectly stable.
They were like $5 on ebay.
Here is a pic to show how the watch looks with a leather band:
          https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/182081/58919/20180513_…

        • +1

Looks great on a leather band. The changeover is doable yourself, or your local watch guy will charge $5. Or you can buy your own watch tool very cheaply.

        • @exxonsign:

Thanks for taking the pic, looks great with leather!

        • @shorewalker:

Thanks for the tip mate I'll probably invest in some tools and give it a go myself. Would probably be doing this a fair bit in the future too

  • Where is a good place to buy other bands?

    • just found this website https://strappedfortime.com/ but OP can suggest the other best places

    • See ilikeit's comment here for places to buy straps. He knows way more than me about them.

    Horrible strap -
    Overall -
:P dude I am not in favour of any watches you have posted. I want a nice classic look watch. Sigh. Still get a plus from me because you do work hard on getting good deals.

    • Just be aware some straps do look horrible on their own, but take a different look on the wrist.

I'm wary of judging straps too quickly given this.

  • I've got this watch, runs perfect. Lug width is 18mm and looks great a bond nato strap

    • What sort of strap you got on yours?

      • +1

        bond nato strap

  • +2

Thanks OP. Been looking for something like this for a while. Couldn't go past it for $130. Should last me 10 years+

  • +1

Terrific, no-fuss solar watch with a faint pilot's-watch vibe. The included strap is widely derided but easy to replace at your local mall's watch repair stand or via the Internet; 18mm gives you a lot of good strap choices. With the right strap, it's thin enough and dressy enough to wear with a suit. I have it on a tan leather Fluco Vigo my daughter bought on Amazon. Would make a good gift.

  • Hey watchnerd!!! Thanks for posting this, much appreciated.

How long will this deal last? I should really wait for next paycheck.

    • Hi there. We will keep this offer up till 9am tomorrow. Tuesday the 15th, Thanks

      • +1

Ouuuuuch, payday is Thursday morning! I'll have to think about it. Thanks for the reply rep :)
