  • Hmm no Queenstown or Christchurch ski season flights?

    • +1

Jetstar often stay out of sales in that period (May-Sept is season - may start late or finish early some years). In previous years return flights for $300 in ski season for east coast has been a good price - Virgin/AirNZ codeshare.

  • Thank you!

  • Why is it cheaper to fly out of GC than Sydney?

    • +1

Airport service charge differ according to the greediness of the airport owners and the desperation of State governments.

  • Is it a good tome to visit NZ on the last week of October? Suitable hiking weather? Still low season and less crowds?

    • Yeah-absolutely! Daylight savings has begun, schools have gone back & it's fairly quiet (South Island anyway). I just booked MEL-CHC in mid Oct for $169 (free return). Have been a few years ago in early Nov. If I recall correctly, some rates (ie) accommodation may go up from Nov.

      • Chc wasn't on the list…sweet.

  • Just went to book a ticket and got (profanity) over hard due to demand and buggy systems.

Managed to bug out their online system to offer me a ticket for $2 somehow. I need that damn flight not a disaster, so started over, then at completion (now at surge prices) they double booked me somehow and then wanted to argue about it on the phone for an hour, after all that garbage had to book a higher fare since prices had changed again, thanks Jetstar!
