    Not cheap.

  • +1

    Cool but pricey $$$

  • i like ham samwiches and samsum smarthings

    • Turn the brightness down and you'll have dimsum.

  • Isn't Philips Hue cheaper?

    • +2

Philips Hue doesn't offer RGB colour downlight, only in Bulbs RRP$89 and LED Strips RRP$120.

Unless you talking about the 9W Philips Hue Downlight Kit White Ambiance

This only offers temperature colour range from 3700K-6500K, RRP at $89.

      • Ah yeah, it is cheaper than the RRP.

        • Share a link if you find any cheaper Philips products with similar function please, it will be much appreciated.

  • Is this light Aus approved?

    • +2

Yes, it has RCM / SAA Approval.

Please leave your email address if you like to receive a PDF copy of the certificate.

      • +2

Perhaps a good idea to post the pdf link in the original ad for the benefit of everyone? Just sayin….

  • Will it the light turn on when using the wall on/off switch?

    • Yes, if you haven't set a timer for them with the HUE app, these downlights will be turned on (at a default setting of 4000K and full brightness) when you turn on the wall switch.

      • Thanks. My plan is to use it in the kids room, so they can set the colour etc.. Do I need extra equipment (eg gateway/hub)?

        • Correct me if I’m wrong. If you switch it on by the wall switch, it will turn on at full brightness with warm white colour no matter whether you have set the timer or not. To change the colour, you will need the hub.

        • Yes, a Philips Hue Bridge is required to link these downlights to your wifi router so kids can play with it by using phone or tablet.

          Philips Hue Bridge 2.0

        • Yes, you need the hub to set the timer, change colour and adjust the brightness.

Without the ZigBee hub, these downlights will behave just like ordinary LED downlights.

        • I guess if you have the new Echo Plus which has an integrated smart home hub then you don`t need any extra bridges or hubs…

        • @LHSolutions: Yes Echo Plus is much more powerful than Philips Hue bridge, it can link other smart home gadgets such as a smart lock.

  • I want some Samsum

  • Very cool. But it would cost me about $5,000 to put these in to my place. I'll stick with my $20 bedside RGB colour light.

  • Better off getting smart wall plates.

  • Half seriously, does anyone find any colour other than white useful? I've tried but most just don't work for me. I think I would prefer better whiteness temperature control.

  • @OP Who makes these bulbs? They look like these http://zemismart.com/smart-rgbw-downlight-work-with-hue-zll-… . But this is not stated in the current listing.

    • Zemismart is just the brand they use in North America markets, the only difference is the external LED driver, which need to be modified according to Australian

      Electrical Standard (SAA / RCM).

On Australian market, the brand is called Nue Smart Home, the supplier is located in Melbourne.

      • Thanks for the information, this should be included in the listing…

        • Thank you for reminding us, we will refine our listing.

      • The Zemismart page lists them at 490 lumens, yet your page says 800-900 lumens?

        • +1

Thats right, they are of different wattages, it's the 12w one we are carrying.

        • @Lectory LED Lighting:

OK, maybe they mixed it up with the 7W model, the specs on their page say 12W also…

          • Voltage(V):100-240V
          • Frequency(Hz):50/60Hz
          • Power(W):12w
          • Luminous Flux(LM):490lm
          • Color Temperature:RGBW

        • @bamzero: The LED chips we used in these lamps has an output rate of 65~75Lm/W, (7w is 455~525Lm) it looks like they either overstated the wattage or understated the lumen output.

12W lamps with 490lm output, that's a poor LED lamp, which we don't see very often.
