Depends on your coffee preference. Vertuo is more to "American Brew pot" style coffee than normal Espresso style nespreso
I've tried different capsules on the Vertuo range. Hated every single one of them. Like elcheapo said, it's the American brew type.
Next time try espresso range, they have one call Double espresso and make sure they froth the milk otherwise they will just heat it like American type.
One thing I don't quite like about vertuo machines that the froth is way to thick to my liking
Was tempted till read that uses unique capsules limited to 20 flavours. Very good price if you don’t mind being locked into another system which doesn’t allow compatible pods.
DRM for coffee pods.
Is this correct? Locked in to only Nesspresso branded pods with this machine?
Until 3rd party brands can come up with pods that match Vertuo machines.
Learning from their original capsules, they had 7 years to keep the patent of exclusively selling capsules for the machine. I guess it should be the same with the new vertuo machines.
Not sure yet because they have barcode on the pods now.
@superforever: The barcodes are just instruction to the machine on how long, what's the temperature, spin speed etc to brew the coffee. I guess anyone can copy them.
May be or may be not.
Just like HP put a chip on the ink cartridge, it is possible the machine itself to refuse to use it.

Uses vertuo pods which means your coffee choices are limited.
Taste the coffee before buying. I wanted to like it but after tasting it about 5 times on different occasions I still couldn't find one I liked. Over extracted and bitter. Not smooth.
Try espresso range with froth milk.
