  • I thought the price has been like this for a while? I posted a listing of all the cheaper blu-ray collections in another thread a week ago.

hmmmm perhaps we need a wiki of all current deals, rather than posting a new thread for each title?

  • Loving all these Amazon Blu-ray box sets at the moment!

  • +1

I got them all on HD-DVD for like $25 about a year ago. great films to watch in HD.

    • +4

      People actually use HD-DVD? :P

      • yep people still use it. I mean I got a whole heap of movies so why not. I got more on HD-DVD than I do on bluray lol. Those Xbox 360 HD-DVD drives and movies are still in pretty high demand from people wanting to get into HD movies on the cheap. movies still sell for around $10-$15 a pop on second hand market.

      • +1

yep - mainly because i bought a player for $90 and heaps of movies most under $5 on runout specials. ALso got a PS3 and seperate bluray player, but I've still got heaps of unopened hd-dvds to watch.

        • I'm similiar. I have two HD-DVD drives for the 360, and my desktop computer has a HD-DVD/Blu-Ray reader. I have 80+ HD-DVD discs, most of them I haven't watched, they're just sitting in my media shelf (well, bookshelf!).

    • When Toshiba finally dropped HD-DVD a few years ago, there were HD-DVD deals all over the place posted on OzBargain. Sourcing new players would probably be as hard as getting a BetaMax player though.

Isn't there going to be at least one more Bourne movie in the near future and if so, wouldn't it be better to wait for a Quadrilogy set instead?
I know its only $26, but still…seems to be kinda pointless to get one of these now.

Bourne Legacy will come out on BluRay in 2013, if you really really wanna wait, be my guest

      • +1

Well considering I've seen all 3 of them and seen twice each of them, i personally have no issues with waiting for it. That said, i can understand how some people may not want to wait that long and/or want to buy this for someone as a gift.

        • No Matt Damon on Bourne Legacy …

        • +1

No Matt Damon? You're kidding me right?

  • +1

    Cheers. Good bargain.

  • How is this $26?
    It's £14.99 + shipping which is £12.49 for standard shipping…
can someone elaborate. There is the free Super Saver Delivery but one, this order doesn't exceed £25 and two, we are not located in any European countries which puts the price at about £27.48 or ~$45AUD

    • +2

      12.49 + 3.68 shipping = 16.17 = $26.17

      • I see 14.99 pounds when I click in the link though, and when I go to through the checkout process j only see standard shipping for 12.49 pounds…where did you get those prices from?

  • Great bargain.
Combined with http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/37358, got both for $53 delivered.
    FTW ;p

  • Oh okay I get it now :) thanks guys

  • Awesome movies at an awesome price.

  • I got it for ~$30, I love having bluray boxsets. It makes me happier.

  • What region is this? I don't know a lot about blu-ray and can't see it mentioned anywhere..do I need a region-free player or something?

  • +1

no its from UK, so its PAL..

    it will work fine here.

    • Ah ok, awesome.
Yeah the product details says Region 2 so that threw me off a bit.

  • Australian Blu-ray players are region B coded. They will only play Region B or Region Free discs unless the player is unlocked. The UK is also region B so we can buy discs from there with no problems. America for example is Region A and will not play on a oz player.

Pardon my ignorance, I have a Panasonic DMP-BDT300GN and anyone know these disc will work?

    http://www.panasonic.co.nz/at-home/entertainment/blu-ray-pro…

    Thanks in advance.

    • If you bought your Blu-ray player in Australia, then it will be "Region 2". Region 2 includes Australia, and the UK - this is why we can purchase Blu-rays from the UK with no problem.

DVD region codes have different boundaries to the Blu-Ray codes, and therefore if purchasing DVD's from Amazon UK you will need to have the ability to play Region 2 DVD's (Australia is allocated as Region 4)

This link should explain it - it has a world map of the Blu-ray regions:

  • Hi Guys

Now this is off topic question at amazon experts. I have two questions:

    A. Have you ever ordered anything from amazon.ca?

I ordered two text books today. Standard shipping was around 40 weeks.

So I had to settle for priority international couriers, which for two books is around CAD$ 67. I can still go in and change shipping, before they ship. But with no previous experience I settled for priority courier.

    B. Will banks also charge and foreign exchange transaction fees. I used Westpac Amex Card.

I noticed that creating a profile on amazon.ca created an access on amazon.com and uk. This is convenient.

I have not bought from Amazon Ca for the shipping reason. The cheap option is likely by seamail (why it takes so long), which is not an option from the USA anymore. The next option up normally kills the deal. I have done seamail from the UK which took about 14 weeks.

My experience with Amazon is that I normally get the goods well before the estimated time - like 2 weeks maximum for standard shipping from the UK. Expect longer if you are in a rural area. Unless you need them desparately quick I would look at the second option for shipping.

I hoped you checked www.booko.com.au when you searched for your text books.

If you paid in Canadian dollars you should be charged an international transaction fee, if you picked Aussie dollars you will be fine.

I would imagine your account will also work in Amazon Germany and Amazon France as well.

If you change you will probably be waiting close to 4 months to turn up.

Standard International Shipping (averages 30-40 weeks)
Expedited International Shipping (averages 7-14 weeks)
Priority International Courier (averages 3-7 business days)

      • Thanks a lot. Looks like I picked the right choice.

Yes Stanas I did check in booko. This was the best available. Amazon US is getting it shipped from Canada and works out to be the same price.

  • wow the standard really takes 30-40 weeks??

I have never ordered off amazon personally but got a guy to get a movie for me once from there and ship it to me once it arrived. It took about 3 weeks, think it was the expedited shipping..

    • only amazon.ca takes that long, not amazon UK or US
