It looks like a snoring amplifier… (in stereo)

Hopefully, rainforest sounds. Replied same minute as post. Gotta get those deals and puns early.

  • how does it work?

      It doesn't.

    • enlarge your nostrils

      how does it work?

I think you mean "who does it work?"

      Answer: The gullible…

  • +8

this will not maximise airflow through the nostril, if anything it will reduce the airflow due to the filters

Designed scientifically to maximize airflow through the nasal passage

It must be true, it has the word 'scientifically'…

Snoring most often happens when you breath through the mouth, rather than thru your nose. I've personally never seen someone snore with their mouth closed.

We were designed to breathe in through our noses so that the air is filtered, warmed and humidified before entering the lungs. When we breathe through the nose the air passes over the curved part of the soft palate in a gentle flow into the throat without creating unnecessary turbulence. When we breathe through the mouth however, the air hits the back of the throat head on and can create enormous vibrations in this soft tissue

So this device would actually make it more likely to cause breathing in via the mouth which instead worsens snoring, achieving the opposite effect?

Small or collapsing nostrils can prevent you from successfully breathing through your nose. This encourages mouth breathing, and it is the air hitting the back of the throat that causes the snoring noise. By using simple nasal dilators you can easily remedy this problem.

This is a PM2.5 filter though, so you would need to remove the carbon filter (if it really is a real carbon filter) to actually be more of a nasal dilater rather than a 'dust filter' for your nostrol

      • We were not 'designed', we evolved. I hate it when supposedly scientific texts use that terminology. It does however, make me wonder, who actually wrote the piece. Generally scientists and medical professionals will use the correct terms.
Not meaning to hijack anything, we all have our peeves and peccadilloes.

Prove that we evolved from pond scum then. Where did the scum come from? Did it evolve from a rock? Where did the rock come from? Did something create it or did that evolve from nothing?

        • @kelza83:
The information is out there, and you well know it is. It's your choice to read and understand the science or to deny, foolishly.
Also, this is not the place for this.

        • @TheSmegger: that’s the type of answer id expect from someone who actually has no idea. There actually is no physical proof to support evolution. It is based on circular reasoning and the theory of Darwin which is so outdated and inaccurate that they are actually slowly slugging away from it in the attempt not to make it noticeable. There is literally no physical evidence to support carbon dating. You can research “circular reasoning carbon dating” I bet you’ll find a tonne of stuff to make your brain actually think rather than just be a sheep. Baaaaaa

        • @TheSmegger: ps. You’re the one who made the comment in the first place so I’m assuming you thought this actually is the place for this…

        • @kelza83:
          FLAT EARTHER LOGIC!
          BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA

        • @TheSmegger: oh really smegger? You think the earth is flat? Sounds like someone needs to grow a brain.

        • @TheSmegger: like him or hate him, you’ll have a hard time proving him wrong https://youtu.be/ogSttUF9mbo

  • I like the "One Size Fits Most" :)
I guess we are all different as humans

  • If you're wondering if this will work or not, realize that you're putting a dollar (or 3.99 without coupon) piece of plastic in the air hole which you breathe air in and out of to live

Awake in bed at 3.14am on a Tuesday morning. I could use these right now for my better half who’s snoring away :op

    • +1

I got one of these before and my better half says it made me snore louder…

    "PM 2.5 Filtering
with a silicone air filter and an activated carbon filter to purify the air."

This means that you'll likely only get a few days of use before the carbon is saturated.
    I'd be replacing these weekly.

    PSA here:

If you're snoring, it could be a symptom of obstructive sleep apnoea (OSA). OSA can have many detrimental effectives on your health including your heart.

These cheap devices are like putting a bandaid over a melonoma spot. Even if it stops your snoring, it's hiding the problem and not solving it.

If you snore and you're feeling tired even after ostensibly what should be a good duration of sleep, a visit to the sleep physician for a sleep test would be a good idea.

Avoid "sleep centres" like ResSleep because they make their money retailing OSA gear and you never get to directly see a sleep physician as they just send the results to someone remotely.

Easiest to get a referral from your GP but a dentist can refer you as well.

Sometimes snoring can be harmless if it's not a symptom of OSA though. Although you may be harmed by your husband or wife!

  • Earplugs in the nose would surely work to stop the snoring. Can't snore through your mouth.
