it's well known that capilano don't use Australian honey… mostly imported from china.
Edit: what they said ^^^
But it says 100% Pure Australian honey?
Ingredients: 100% Pure Australian honey sourced from Eucalypt and ground flora.
commercial honey is mostly all mixed. See my comment below.
"Along with its namesake brand, Capilano Honey Limited also produces Allowrie, Smiths, Wescobee and Barnes brands, which carry labels stating they are "packed in Australia from quality local and imported products".
Everyone should be purchasing honey from their local bee keepers…
Yep, agree 100%. We stopped buying honey from any supermarkets about 3yrs ago and onky buy honey from our local bee keeper now.
Everyone should be purchasing honey from their local bee keepers…
Because everybody has a local beekeeper… :\
@jv: you'd bee amazed what your neighbour is doing in his shed
@brezzo: meth lab? I joke i joke.
@jv:
Let me dumb it down for some…. Try farmers markets, fruit & vegie shops etc..
Damn it! I always bought them. In fact, I was about to go now and buy a dozen as use honey instead of sugar, and thought to check OzBargain first. I always thought Capilano was 100% Aussie honey? Can they really lie to the regulators and watchdogs and use imported honey while claiming it to be 100% Aussie?
Before you buy honey i recommend watching episode 1 from the netflix series ROTTEN: Lawyers, Guns & Honey
It will change your perspective on honey
If only the honey were as sweet as you, sir.
While you are at it watch the corporation documentary. There are others and it is all well known to me, but as with the corporation this will be watched and forgotten. Mark my words and come back in 50 years if you are still alive and Ozbargain hasn't become marsbargain.
this will be watched and forgotten.
since i watched the Honey episode, i started buying from local farmers after very extensive research
that was meant to be off all who watch, majority will forget.
The fact that Capilano is still in business proves it.
Marsbargain
Funny thing about people thinking that mars colonization is possible.
Mars has no rotating planet core ,
Therefore no magnetic field to protect it from solar radiation like earth does, and just like all astronauts and especially long term residents of the international space station is/are irradiated.
Which makes the outer planets and their moons better long term prospects.
In actuality we have a perfectly good planet to begin with
if she doesn't burn us off and create a much smarter species to tend.Probably there will be a moonbargain too :)
Besides Consuming kids documentary will help that too.
@bargainparker: for the molemen maybe
Wreaking things is much easier than building something
If I've learnt nothing else in this life
I know this
The majority of human beings are lazy and will take the easy way out while the exceptional solve the problems that make it even easier
Everything else is just speculationUnfortunately there is no easy way out.
and no-one gets out alive
In a billion years it
May be easier to just fly the planet,
Of course the Americans will want to drive.

The bear is sticky with honey

Very informative

Interesting, they do import honey, but do not sell it under the Capilano brand. The honey they do import is supposedly pure honey (no added syrup). The offered product on this deal is labeled Pure Australian Honey, so I figure they would be in breach of Australian labelling laws if it has imported components.
Squeeze me honey honey
squeeze you where?
It doesn't mention why they are being sued.
They must have posted some untruths on the website maybe???
oh my…
how can you sue someone for posting facts ?
@jv: Used as a threat/intimidation.
@jv: But the little guy has few resources. Capilano might not win but they intimidate you by tying down your resources/time and lots of lawyer money/court time. Newspapers have lawyers on staff. I doubt a small beekeeper would.
Easier to just roll over.
Facts in dispute.
Lot of money in big business.
Do you think ozbargain members are the litmus test.
Grow up
I heard they arent 100% Australian honey. SO I never bought anymore. Apparently they import and some include Chinese honey which isn't pure and include all sorts of syrup. Just letting you know.
