Apple Watch Series 3 GPS + Cellular 42mm Space Grey Aluminum $468 Delivered (HK) @ amaysim eBay (Direct Import)

61
PLUGNPLAY

I feel this is worthy of its own post as this may be one of the lowest prices around for the Aluminium 42mm GPS+Cellular Series 3 at $468 delivered.

Don't take too much notice of their almost month long shipping estimates.

Mine was delivered in less than 5 days after ordering based on my own experience. Ordered last Wednesday 2pm and it arrived at 8:30am today.

They also included a nice little 4 port USB hub with 4 different travel adapters in the package as well.

Don't forget 1% Cashrewards.

  • Do they include GST on their Tax Invoice ?

    • Just was about to ask that also for TRS claim :)

Since it comes from Hong Kong - no.

  • Thanks OP, do you know if the cellular part will work fine here with AUS network carriers? Apparently US purchased watch doesn't work here according to online forums/Apple retail store staff.

    • I’ve just set mine up with Telstra and waiting for it to become active.

My understanding is the cellular Apple watches can only be used in the country in which they’re purchased. So you shouldn’t buy overseas models or else they won’t be cellular in your home country. Refer: https://www.tomsguide.com/us/apple-watch-3-international-roa…

    • I’m pretty sure that relates to once it’s been set up in that country. Same with the watches bought locally here, they won’t roam internationally once set up in Australia.

I’ve set mine up with Telstra and just waiting for it to activate.

Good luck - let us know if it activates without issue! Otherwise I’m steering clear.

      • Interested to know if it activates ok and works fine.

        Please let us know

Just had a look at Apple’s website and I really don’t think this is a good idea to buy: https://support.apple.com/en-au/HT207578

        About international roaming

        • Cellular roaming isn't supported outside your carrier network coverage area.
        • To cover the LTE and UMTS bands used around the world, Apple Watch Series 3 (GPS + Cellular) comes in three regional models – Americas, China, and Europe/Asia Pacific. Unlike iPhone, there isn't a worldwide Apple Watch Series 3 model that supports all cellular bands used globally, so it isn't possible for Apple Watch to roam.

OK, so I have been chatting to Apple Support after I confirmed that all was active with Telstra and everything is working as it should be - I can make calls, send texts and use data from the watch without the phone nearby. i.e. Tested it down the street with the phone at home and all good.

So to answer anyone's concern, this definitely works with Telstra.

      https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7304266

      Someone said in the discussion:

the information in my reply has been confirmed by the applecare agreement administration team. hardware coverage for apple watch under the one-year limited warranty is available in countries where apple watch is available to buy from apple or from apple authorised distributors

By the sound of it as long as Apple Watch is sold here in Australia, Apple should look after it regardless of the country of purchase

      • Apple will cover it whenever you are. I have had friends take an Apple product in to another store for warranty when it was brought in China.

They are a global company that sells in most countries around the world, and that can't refuse to look at it since you aren't in that country where you brought it. I have seen them deferred a repair as the user had a different keyboard layout and said it would take X long to get that part. But otherwise you are all good.

Seems like Hong Kong and Australia share the same LTE band and uses the same Apple Watch cellular model.

Heads up. I bought an Apple Watch from HK last year. Had issues and Apple, Apple Auth service and apple care could not help me. No aus warranty at all.

  • For what its worth, amaysim give you a 2 year warranty directly with their imports.

  • Does anyone have a deal for local stock? My dad has been nagging me to find him one…

      • I confirmed further up that this works fine with Telstra. Had it activated earlier and checked with Apple Support that all functions are working as they should..and they are.

        • Great success!

  • ALRIGHT
    all chips on black
the LTE bands on the watch seem to be the same as AUS stock
    dive dive dive
    here we go!

    • K update even though the deals over

      The model is indeed A1891
      Works perfectly with Telstra
set up in a few mins

      so far so good

If the deal comes around again - go for it imo :)

  • I can see from the comments above that it works with Telstra, LTE bands etc, would this be the same for Optus?

    • This model of this watch is the A1891, which according to the Apple site is compatible with all three main Telcos.

      • price went up
