  • Good find. I've been waiting for this laptop to go on special. I wonder if Lenovo can match this price with the HDR display next time they have this deal again?

    • HDR screen is glossy, vs matt for this one, so I guess it depends on preference. It's an expensive device, but can't see it getting much cheaper than this for a while.

      • I would have jumped at it if it had HDR as well

    • This one has Win 10 Pro, if that's your thing??

I picked one from that last deal and I love it. Very nice bit of kit. The HDR screen is fantastic when working outdoors, highly recommended.

      • +1

Can confirm the hdr screen is bright enough as an advantage that it offsets the glossy bit.

      • Hey there, likely buyer here.

How's the battery life? The reflections not bothersome?

I'm also hearing issues regarding fan noise and heating, any issues for you?

        Thanks :)

        • While I don’t have this model, I can say the 500nits model lasts a very long time. I’ve done 6 hours with 55% battery remaining, this was on power save but with reasonable usage.

Thanks for Apple, Microsoft & the guy who coined the term "Gaming", laptops are getting more and more expensive.

    • +2

This has nothing to do with gaming. You'd be mad to purchase one of these for gaming when you could get the same specs + discreet video card for half the price.

This is a laptop well suited for business travellers; super light, reliable and virtually unbreakable.

    • Agree nothing to do with gaming.
I have one supplied for work and this thing is amazingly good for business trips.

Essentially 14" laptop that's lighter than xps 13. Battery lasts forever. carbon fibre. 2x thunderbolt.
I'd cry if I have to travel with something as bulky as a gaming laptop on a trip.

      • Ok. Forget the gaming bit.
Wouldn’t a surface pro be a better option for business trailers?

        • Surface pro can't be stomped on with high heels. My previous 2nd Gen X1 survived that and more.

          Surface pro:

          • Old 7th gen intel processors. Much much slower than the new 8th gen
          • 12.3” display is very tiny
          • crappy keyboard
          • positive; light weight
          • i7+16Gb+512SSD = $3499 at the msoft store

Or do you mean the Surface book?

          • (profanity) expensive
          • Crappy keyboard
          • ~50% heavier than the X1
          • i7+16Gb+512SSD = $3799.00 at the msoft store

yes, I'm aware better pricing is avail from retailers, but the surface range makes little sense unless you want to use a pen/touch/tablet setup

        • @ChickenTalon: I got the Surafce book i7 for under $1600 from MS during the eBay sale.
I think this is a better option.

  • the i5 version was a lot cheaper this morning till the seller (not futu) jacked up the price.
was about to pull the pin on it too :(
