Legit in the checkout of buying something, came here to find out that 5% off code because I forgot. holy shit thanks haha you saved me. !

    • +11

      you saved me.

      Bit dramatic.

      • +17

        Bargains are serious business.

      • +4

Perhaps they were about to buy a new liver on ebay and couldn't afford it without the 10% off offer.

        • +4

          Send a Best Offer.

The liver will rot if it's not transplanted quickly, so you have some leverage over the seller.

        • @lostn: What leverage? Demand exceeds supply.

        • @lostn: That would be Best Offal… :)

        • @MadTacoWarrior:

          What leverage? Demand exceeds supply.

Not for supply that's being advertised on ebay. That's probably in somebody's house.

And yes, I know the comment was made in jest.

TA for Australian of the year award 2018

  • +1

Would it hurt them to do 10% with no minimum spend..?

    • +7

Yes. 10% off $1 costs as much to process as 10% off $100, so small amounts eat into margins and cash flow.

    • And they know that sometimes people would buy $50 worth of stuff they don't need just to get the deal..

Officeworks will have a "Targeted" vacation.

  • +1

    Targeted zzz

  • +3

Officeworks may as well just permanently shutdown their store.

    • +10

Could be wrong, but I don't think Officeworks takes their store down during targeted promos.

      • I think you're right.

      • +1

        You're right :)

  • Targeted === NO for me.

  • +3

FWIW I made a new account and they sent me a 20% code up to $50 discount. Someone already made a deal on it last week.

  • I'll give you a + when I got the disc!! Cheers for heads up op

  • I came here just for the "I was not targeted" comments :O

    • You'll need to wait 'til 10am for that :)

      • +13

        It's ok, I live here :)

        • So we're flatmates!

    • I almost certainly won't be targeted. I bought something yesterday. They own me and they know it.

      • I was right.. no target.

  • Would this stack with current eBay 20% ?

    • Unfortunately no. Only one coupon permitted on checkout.

    • +1

No, but you could go to your Velocity account first then click the link to eBay from there and earn Velocity points on top of the 10% discount. Better than nothing :)

  • +1

I wonder if it would stack with the current Shopback 15% off $25 ebay voucher? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/371526

I notice that the tos for this offer don't state that PayPal needs to be used as a payment method (as can often be the case with these discounts).

    • +2

Yes it will stack, you can use a voucher and coupon together.

      • Excellent, thanks for confirming doweyy. That's another $3.75 off for those who are willing to make the effort (or $13.75 if you're a new shopback member).

        • +2

It depends on what sort of voucher it is. Previous Groupon vouchers for eBay would give you a code which wouldn't stack with the standard coupon codes as you enter them in the coupon code area. I suspect the Shopback vouchers would be similar but I'm happy to be corrected. Your mileage may vary.

        • I have a few things to pickup so it doesn't hurt to try, but others might like to proceed with caution…hopefully they do stack.

  • +1

quick question..assuming I'm eligible and receive the offer…if I win an ebay auction today…can I pay tomorrow with the 10% discount?

    • +3

      Yes that's correct.

    • +3

      Yes you can

  • Hi TA, arecwe supposed to receive an email from eBay, if we are targeted for this ?

    • +3

Hi OzSikh. I can only assume they will be sending out a newsletter to targeted members sometime tomorrow.

      • +1

        Thanks mate

Kindle Paperwhite has "mysteriously" gone up from $159 to $174

    • +8

This is a targeted sitewide discount. I seriously doubt your concern has anything to do with this promo.

      • Some sellers do that anyway. TGG is one of them.

Well not for targeted that I know of, but sitewide, definitely.

    • +4

Yeah very "mysterious" how the price was changed 5 days ago on April 5, which just happened to coincide with the end of the previous officeworks catalogue period, and start of the new catalogue

      • +3

        ACCC on speed dial!!11!!1!1

    • whats a good price for a paperwhite kindle?

  • DIDNTGETSHIT yet :)

  • Never get targeted for any of these offers, Can't see that changing tomorrow :(
Typical, there is some stuff I do actually want to buy and have been (im)patiently waiting for a sitewide offer to show up, or at least a code that covers the stuff I want to buy.

  • Crap! I forgot to wait for this. I just bought (and went through checkout), a $300 item.

  • +1

I have billions so they don't seem to target me..

    • Well I have Brazilians and I always get targeted ;-)

  • +2

    I have an $80k high-yield investment car so I don't think I would be targetted. 😭

  • Shows up in the ebay homepage for my new dummy account (created a week ago).

    No email received though.

    Thanks!

  • No go here :(

    • Same :(

    • Did you get "Looks like that's the wrong code. Please double-check and try again."?

      • Yeah

  • NO TARGETED

  • +1

by the GODS, it works!!! thanks op, have + as promised

  • no love for me

  • As expected, Nada.

  • My main didn't but two alts I created (which I have never used before) both did lol

  • Miracle doesn't exist.I'm stuck with the pull5 code for a $500 item.

    • I've stuff worth about the same amount as well in the cart and no coupon but pull5. :-(

    • I guarantee you will be targeted for 10%, or there will be a global 10% non-targeted code… the day after you use PULL5.

      • Murphy's law. :)

      • I have to make the purchase anyway. Let's see what happens.

  • No discount on this one!

  • Nothing.

  • I made a new eBay account around two weeks ago. Received this and another code for 20% my first purchase

  • Upset that I am not targeted

  • Wanting to buy something for $1500. Can I use pull5 5% of code and then use 15*$100 eBay voucher which I can buy at 5% off at wollies using egift card?

    • Yes, you can you a code and pay with gift cards.
Although the eBay gift card T&Cs say a max of 8 cards, they don’t seem to enforce it - see this comment

      • What happens if the deal goes bad or the seller doesn't send and you need a refund, where does the refund go to if you used an ebay voucher?

        • The refund goes back to the gift card used to pay for the item.

  • +2

No love for most existing users. :(

  • Did anyone get it?

    • I didn't on 3 of my accounts

    • I received on one of my accounts.

      • How ? In an email?

        • Yes, received an email

    • Got two account targeted. Thanks op

  • I have 3 accounts and not received on any of them :(

    • If you've made purchases on those accounts recently, you're dead to them.

The 10% is for inactive people who are not generating any revenue for them. Since you already are, they don't need to give you free money.

      • I've set a new account up and won't buy anything on it until I'm sent one of these offers. Let's see how we go :)

        • How do you set up a new account? ie. Is it easy , does it not require a new paypal account also, and some difficult verification process.

        • +1

          @ozzpete:
Just a new email, not a new PayPal, takes about 45 seconds to create.

        • @simmomelb: Wow. Thanks very much for the info. So they don't screw you over when you use same paypal to pay for item on new account. Because they can see your paypal linked/used with more than 1 ebay account.

      • Actually in my case that's not true as I still got this voucher after buying something last night with the PUMP20 code and about three weeks ago bought a $50 off $120 spend voucher for the Kogan get 2 for the price of 1 mobile deal.

I'm not a big spender but buy something (sometimes a small item) almost every month.

        Definitely don't spend thousands though.

They must be using something other than recent spending as a criteria to distribute these targeted codes at least in my case.

  • anyone not using their ebay account with that 10% offer? would like to make use of it. tx

  • Is there a way to test this code without committing to buy something?

    • +2

I think mrbillions could sort that out for you

    • +1

Yes, just add the item to your cart and click "proceed to checkout" then enter it in the Gift Cards & Vouchers field and click "apply" it'll soon tell you. You can still remove the item from your cart.
I've been doing the same daily :)

  • I got 4 accounts
2 never purchase anything (only created last month), both of them got 10% code
1 use every day - never get code
1 use every few month - no 10% code

i had a bad feeling that ebay is making more and more 0 feedback buyer
this is not good for seller, i also sell on ebay
and i am so scared when 0 feedback buyer purchased something over $500 from me
and those 0 feedback buyers never leave feedback after purchase as well

  • Damn, never get these targeted offers.

  • "Looks like that's the wrong code. Please double-check and try again."
