Remember to use AMAZON10 with new accounts to get $10 off :)

  • Impressive price for a 4K camera

  • Amazon with the hot prices. Nice. Inb4 ozbargaining lol

  • add something $1 to get to $300 for TRS

    • Does this have to be from the same seller (ie, Amazon it seems)?

If it's a different seller, the invoice won't be from Amazon and hence wouldn't work right?
Don't want to get caught out!

      • +1

The Home Affairs website says that the purchases must be from a single business with the same Australian business number (ABN). Not sure how Amazon AU works for tax invoices though.

        • Not sure how Amazon AU works for tax invoices though.

They work the same as everyone else with tax invoices, why would they be any different?

        • +1

@Maverick-au: I guess what I was thinking of was that for the purposes of consolidating invoices for the TRS, you'd have to be mindful of the differences between Sold by Amazon, Fullfilled by Amazon, Fullfilled by Seller etc as I presume you'd could end up with multiple invoices with different ABNs depending on who is actually doing the selling of each item

  • +3

Nice! +1 to OP and got one…

    • Can someone share the screenshot of the invoice so that those have missed the deal can use it to price match in Officeworks or JBHifi?

  • -4

Incredible price, shame it's a couple months too late. Got no use for it now.

  • +11

Watched some videos on it, kinda cool but wow so shaky. From what I understand Hero 6 has inbuilt stabilization. Big difference.

    Edit: Stabilization comparison: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KONnbKZ9iyE

    • They are hinting that its software stabilization anyway, you can do this yourself once you copy it to your computer, or Youtube does it automatically.

      • Post video processing is something you want to avoid at all costs.

        • +1

          Why?

If the gopro's solution is software based, its basically the same solution as post video processing.

I guess it depends if you need to upload 10 videos a week or just one.

        • +6

          @samfisher5986:

Post processing 4k video is not fun

        • @cyrax83:

Youtube will do it no problem, its not too bad on your own computer as long as you aren't doing many hours worth of video.

Depends what you are doing with your videos.

        • @samfisher5986:

          Not necessarily.

In the case of the Hero5 I think it's pretty basic image-based stabilisation, but the Hero6 uses the internal sensors to help stabilise the footage on the fly, information that isn't available to the stabiliser in your editing app or YouTube.

  • amazon au must be dumping these in favor if the new model

  • Thanks Op, just got one. big step up from a yi action cam for me!

    • Can you please advise which Yi action cam you have ?

  • I don't know if this happen to anyone , Got replacement under one year warranty , mint. Nek Minit (couple weeks later) tried them on while Im at Bali , used them once, then I proceed to move the file to Laptop. I'm not sure what's happening but out of nowhere the device suddenly start to bootlooping on me, just Like LG G4 , G5, Nexus 5x, etc.

Contact the Good guys but unfortunately the warranty already expired just around a week or couple after it start bootlooping on me (1 year which I think abit short from reputable company from GoPro). Asked the GoPro for replacement , they said they can't do anything but offer 20% off from their overpriced RRP price $429 (which will be $343.2 not including shipping cost) when I send the faulty camera off to them at my cost. Told them what a bloody joke as I just got faulty product from fresh minty package , not going to fall in for their marketing & failure. Tell them that I'll report to ACCC , should I do it Goys?

    • +3

This has ACCC written all over it. 1 year warranty on a $500 camera i think it should have at least 5 years

    • +6

Not an expert on this but you have consumer rights under Australian Consumer Law, regardless of what the stated warranty period is. You have to deal with the Good Guys not Go Pro, as it was the Good Guys (TGG) who sold you the camera. Boils down to this - is it reasonable to expect the Go Pro to only last for 13 months (nope), in which case TGG should repair or replace the device at no cost to you. But you need to stick to your guns and not let them tell you otherwise.

Check out this link … https://www.accc.gov.au/consumers/consumer-rights-guarantees… for more information about your rights as a consumer.

      Best of luck.

Good Goys Keep refering me to the GoPro live chat which is pretty hard to reach as their availability hours is very limited. They told me it's already too late when I reported it. But Im on long vacation can't do anything about it, as a matter of fact it ruins my holiday as Im unable to record any event.

is it reasonable to expect the Go Pro to only last for 13 months

Nope, It's not even 13 months. I just took it out of the package (I got product replacement as the side door is cracked) then use it once , to say that it last 13 months is way too kind. I would say the lifespan is about 2 hours. I rarely use the GoPro , just using them on vacation

I Tell them I won't buy from GoPro anymore as they're getting greedy like some company named apple. Tell them my next Portable Mini Camera will be Xiaomi Yi or other brand. but I'm "stuck" with them as I bought bunch of accesories worth around $240 which contain 5 additonal battery (which is very expensive) , complete set of mount lods of them , Bike-Head-Chest-Car Mount , yada yada.

But I feel very strongly that GoPro should be held liable to this not Good Guys as the manufacturing and quality control progress is out of their hands.

        • My understanding is that its the date that you report is the date they should use.

So if you come back 2 months later to return something that was reporting to fail one week out of warranty, its one week.

You can definitely get this repaired/replaced under consumer law.

See this, something the ACCC links to on their website

          https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uE8BB-ioNRw

          https://www.accc.gov.au/media/video-audio/consumer-videos#do…

So if you come back 2 months later to return something that was reporting to fail one week out of warranty, its one week.

Bad Goys asked evidence for this but I don't know how can I provide one with. So instead i'm dealing with GoPro directly according to their reference
I did asked for the solution in GoPro Official Counter while I was at Bali and they told me that theres definetely something wrong with the Motherboard which will be very expensive (around 69% of the camera's price just like any other mainstream phone) and not worth to fix it according to their previous experience with GoPro Hero 4 or 3 (GoPro got bootloop problem in their previous model as well, not all but some of them though)

Thanks for the link anyway , Im not familiar with this thing. Very glad that someone kind enough to give some helpful advice
But I will advice to everyone not to buy GoPro as the way they deal with the warranty (in case you got a same problem like me). Xiaomi Yi isnt as good but I reckon worth the Value

        • +3

@rodinthink: Get a written record from the Go Pro Counter in Bali! You should totally follow this up when you get back, and get a repair or replacement at no cost. And don’t let The Good Guys fob you off to Go Pro - it’s up to the customer to choose who they want to deal with (ie. the store you bought it from, or the manufacturer).

        • @Procyon:
          Sorry for Late respond.

Will go to Good Guys and ask keep annoying them until I got replacement. But I keep delaying it and its already 4 months as Im busy with work and had long rant email to gopro back and forth. Plus theres only good guys in Top ENd outback here , so if I annoy the store manager, I might lose face (Burying my face down like Emu) when I purchase/pick up something else there

        • +1

          @rodinthink:

Take a copy of the accc website. If they dont give you a replacement on the spot or try and send you to someone else, ask for the manager, and if thats still the same, ask for the names of the people and call ACCC on the spot in front of them.

Tell them you will also call GG HQ.

        • @ninetyNineCents:
Nice will do. Will make more nemesis

        • +1

          @rodinthink:

So what if they dont like you, do yo uwant your GP replaced or what.

    • Did you get any new paperwork for the replacement that TGG gave you?
If so, the 1 year warranty should actually restart from the day you got the replacement.

      • Ahh, Something I didn't think off. I would look through my entire OZBargain-Horading messy room
        Cheers

    • The Good Guys should just run it through their SolvUp warranty system, which will then come back as send off for assessment as its outside of the 1 year warranty. They then will send it back to GoPro or authorised repairer to be assessed for the warranty claim. From there if a fault is found they should either repair unit, replace unit or issue a store credit or refund.

      • I think they tried to avoid the problem and tried to refer me directly to GoPro instead. I dont know if they do it so that I can have much more crystal clear direct contact with goPro as it waste lods of time for them to go back and forth becoming the middleman between me and GoPro or the Employee/Supervisor doesnt want any problem with their Upper Management. So silly though

        • +2

They cant refer you to GP directly, its their legal responsibility to handle the claim.

Ask them to put in writing whatever they tell you with their signatures or take a friend as a witness or film it on your phone. Fliming is wonderful they will be very careful of what they say after that and realise they cant f**k you about.

  • Way better than the goprohero4.

    .
BIG Thank You to Jase2801 for posting the deal …..I even got the extra $10 off :)
was looking at the GoPro 6 deal I went back before bedtime to check if it was still live and saw this ….almost $200 saving …..the 6 can't be that much better
(I can put the saved $$ toward my trip) so thanks Jase2801

  • +10

I always wanted one of these, but then realized my life is too boring for a Gopro.

    • Get one to change your life. I go out more often after buying a gopro.

    • +2

      Username does not check out

    • Very wise.
Plus the value depreciate alot by yearly. So I reckon it's a much more liability than asset if you don't use it much / for work purpose (Youtubing?).

Just use your own Phone's camera. It's versatile and you always carry it everywhere which is very crucial to capture unusual stuff.
For Instance my Xiaomi Mi A1 which keep reebooting and freezing. Does anyone got this problem as well?

  • Ah crap, it’s gone back up.

    • +1

$375 is from another seller not amazon au.

Amazon AU just before sold out the last couple said more stock on the way soon.

  • It shows $375. Is it finished the sales?

  • Need a good Sony FDR X3000 deal plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • Can someone share the screenshot of the invoice so that those have missed the deal can use it to price match in Officeworks or JBHifi?

    • +1

Doesn't that only work if it's still in stock?

      • +2

        It's back in stock … :)

  • Back in stock :)

  • If I'm not sporty type, what do I use go pro for?

  • Can't add to cart =(

    Price gone up to $375.

  • +1

Out of stock again. Too slow again. Damn it.

    • Damn it. Was waiting for this to come back into stock for days :(

      • The listing had 1 in stock from Amazon AU but said more coming soon.

  • I'm also waiting for new stocks and just missed it.

While searching for this item on Amazon AU, I saw this new seller listing a new GoPro Hero5 for $239. Too good to be true??

    https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B01M1ID5XV?m=A19GSBTUDSVJF7

    • It's a bit dubious. Being a new seller is a bit of a worry. Great price if it's legit.

    • Saw that, but I’m not touching it. New seller, no feedback, price is too cheap.

      • If you trust the A-Z guarantee, it's not much of a risk. Worst case, lose $239 somehow (I can't see how) - best case, new seller is reimbursed by Amazon if it was an automated listing issue.

Delivery requirements are 3-4 days on the item from what I can see, would be quickly sorted out if they don't ship / ship a dodgy one.

It's the same Amazon item number.

        • I’d prefer not to waste my time on what is very obviously not a genuine deal. Knock yourself out, let us know how you go.
