There is a 10% fee when selling on eBay when I try to use this deal….
Let's say i sell my phone for 300, they take 10% off and give me back the 30 voucher…. I might as well sell it on gumtree ?

    • +11

Wait for free listing every Sunday & list it

    • +2

Yeah but Gumtree is full of tyre kickers and weirdos.

They usually sms, so you can filter them out by saying in your ad -

No sms, please call if you want it.

You will still get sms because people don't read everything, but don't reply.
The people who really want it soon figure it out.

          gumtreee ad -
"For sale: iPhone 7 128gb $400 -pickup Brisbane CBD"

SMS message from idiots - "where are you located?"

          every single time.

        • Haha, as well as saying "No sms" I also write -

If you can see this ad then it's still available.

Then you can guess what happens next, I get sms asking if it's still available!
          I don't reply.

        • @altomic:

I love it when they send you an SMS asking where your suburb is….

"Google Maps" is what I reply.

Voucher? Lol, isn't it just 10% ebay fees.

    • +1

Not if you sell on Sunday, it's a $1 fee.

      • So list on a Sunday? Any special activation required?

  • only an unscrupulous person would take advantage of this offer and the $1 listing fee.

I sold something worth $500 for the $50 voucher. It was a targeted promotion last month, it said $1 listing fee if you offer pick up.

I never got the voucher, they said because the person paid cash I can’t get the voucher. That wasn’t in the terms and condition and they simply said bad luck.

  • The $1 Sunday’s are targeted. 1 out of 2 accounts I have gets it.
