Legit. I prob was too sleepy.

Thank you and much respect to you, sir.

    Great price. Thanks OP.

  • Bought it last time, can't use it for my garage door, been an idle… collecting dust at the moment :(

    • +4

Have you checked the intended device (i.e. the garage opener) operates on 315/433MHz frequency? It has been reported 315MHz does not work properly in some applications.

Here is a quick Youtube video I found šŸ‘

You can also try to add a compatible add-on receiver, like this šŸ‘

According to discussions in previous posts for this item, A lot of garage doors use rolling codes in which case it won't work.

    • +1

Yep I'm in the same boat - discovered afterwards that the two things I wanted to control (motorised blinds and a motorised awning) both use rolling codes :(

I'd be keen to find something similar which does support remotes with rolling codes

      • +4

I will make a post when I figure out a solution/ product to tackle rolling codes.

        • you're the best sky!

        • +2

@xev: That's why the sky is still blu =)

        • Use an esp8266 wired to a relay use that to press the button on the original rf remote

          Or

Use an esp8266 wired to a relay to push the button on the actual garage door.

This will allow you to control with wifi.

You can also use a sonoff 12v dc as it has a built in relay.

        • @kiwijunglist: so basically convert rolling RF signal to WiFi, correct?

        • +1

          @sky blu: no.

          Convert wifi to rolling rf.

      • what brand are the blinds and awning? Cheers

    • +1

Bought this not knowing if my garage works or not and luckily my garage motor has the same frequency range. I would be disappointed if i was in your shoe. Well, the good thing is that, at least you can control your AC and TV in the house. It doesn't have to collect dust :)

      • +3

Actually you should be worried if this works with your garage door.

If this works with your garage door, it means the garage door doesn't use rolling code and anyone can open/close your garage because. It takes little effort to workout your garage door operating frequency.

    • The cheap option is to use a Wemo maker for garage door automation. I got mine for around $20 from Jb hifi. It is hard to find one now. Might able to find a second hand. Cheers,

  • Can this control a Merlin 230t garage openerļ¼Ÿ

    • +1

Check the garage opener's specs for RF frequency. Due research is an integral to any DIY project. Google is your friend.

  • How's the integration with Google home? Does it respond to commands

    • Should be okay. It uses IFTTT to integrate with Google Home.

      5-minute Youtube video here.

    • +2

Lucky us, google home has just included broadlink into their long list of compatible devices. I've been using it everyday and all of remote control are collecting dust or some lost in the house. My kids are loving the google commands.

        • +1

I forgot to add, after you have programed the IR or RF device frequencies through the broadlink app. For google to recognize your commands, you need to program the set of command sequences in the "Scene" section in app. Then name it Eg. ā€œTURN ON TVā€. To use it with google home, just say, Hey Google, Activate ā€œscene nameā€. Is this case, Activate TURN ON TV. Have fun with with it.

  • Which adapter do we choose, UK, US or EU??

    • +1

I am asking the rep re Australian adapter. Maybe if you could wait a little bit as China wakes up around 12pm AEDT.

    • +1

I bought the EU one, not a big issue. It's just a 1.0Amp phone charger than you will have lying around the house to power it up.

      • Oh yeah good point, it is powered by USB so Iā€™m not forced to use the included adapter.

    • +1

Hey just followed up on the adapter - rep has replied "FREE US/AUS/UK high quality plug will be packaged in your order based on your shipping address. so you can choose the option you like."

  • Do they make this or the RM Mini in white so I can mount them on the wall and look less conspicuous…

    • I wish they did but it looks like there are no other colours except for stand-out-like-dog-balls black

    • +3

Have you tried painting your wall black?

      • +1

        You are full of solutions!

      • +2

I believe the simpler solution would be to spray paint the units white!

  • +1

Thanks OP. Would like to know if it supports 315Mhz as well as 433MHz. It should but the page only lists 433MHz.

    • I believe it does. The (simple) manual doesn't state anything, but their website does say "RF 433/315MHz". Hope that helps.

when i click on go to deal it says AUD 34.

  • +1

Just happened across this, friend was looking to get one already so thanks!

Also, Iā€™ve been doing a lot of work to make the RF and IR devices operate via Appleā€™s HomeKit https://github.com/lprhodes/homebridge-broadlink-rm

    • You're welcome!

  • My understanding was that this version (Pro+) lacked the internal temp sensor that the older version had.

Oh, and if you really want a garage door control (with rolling code) then there are a number of pages telling you how to interface a spare RF garage door controller with a SONOFF unit. These Broadlink units are good for RF mains switches instead (you know, 3 mains switches, with remote control).

    • I'm super confused about all the Broadlink RM versions. I get the difference with the Mini as it only does IR (not RF), but then the RM Pro has a few versions plus the Pro + and then there's the RM Plus (https://www.gearbest.com/other-home-improvement/pp_622303.htā€¦) - what are the actual differences? They all seem to do RF, IR, Wifi in the same bands. Is it just signal strength? I like the look of the Plus more but Gearbest has it cheaper than the Pro+ - is that because it's not as good somehow? It's also way less popular for some reason …

Basically, does this RM Pro+ have way better features / strength than the RM Plus to outweigh the style factor?

    • there are a number of pages telling you how to interface a spare RF garage door controller with a SONOFF unit.

Could you please share a link to those forum pages !!

      Thanks

  • +1

This is now expired. Any chance for another discount code ?

    • +1 from me as well. I have the older RM Pro which has been good, but it also is the version that did not support 315mhz RF remotes. Would like to have one that does 433 & 315…..
