I am going to get confused between these Dell PC thumbnails and the Galaxy S9 a LOT for the forseeable future…..

    • +4

You know there's a deal title next to the thumbnail?

  • You tried.

  • Price of the New Dell Inspiron Gaming Desktop Intel i7-8700 16GB RAM 256GB SSD GTX 1070 8GB is incorrect.. should be 1719.20

    • I have corrected all the prices now. Got pretty excited for a i7 + 1070 desktop for $1200 for a moment

      • Unless I am having a stroke title is still uh butchered.

    • guess I had the price on the wrong item

  • edit: typo fixed

  • New Dell Inspiron Gaming Desktop Intel i5-8400 8GB RAM 1TB HDD GTX 1060 3GB $959.20

That seems a damn good deal for the specs? Put in a 250GB SSD and that thing is a really good budget gaming box. From a quick check of MSY the CPU and (cheapest) GTX 1060 I could find came to about $630 just by themselves.

  • why they dont have 8700k version?

    • why they dont have 8700k + 1080 version?

I'm assuming the XPS is priced slightly higher over the Inspiron due to the case design… In terms of upgrade-ability, is the Inspiron better overall? As it has a larger case size.

    • Seems they have the same srp of 2499 but the inspiron has a bigger discount before ebay coupon.. and the xps seems to be better than the inspiron

    • That's true the inspiron would be more compatible with different sized graphics cards and also have better airflow.

    • Also
      - inspiron is 2400MHz memory vs xps having 266MHz
      - inspiron comes with standard 1 year warranty. XPS with 1 year premium warranty

  • Do either the Inspiron or the XPS have support for NVME M.2 drives yet?

    • Owner of 8920 here. Would a Samsung evo 850 /860 be ok to install as a second ssd?

      • A samsung 850/860 2.5" form factor SATA SSD would be fine to install as a second SSD, it would be nice though if the included m.2 slot on the motherboard had NVME support so you could use a Samsung 960 EVO or PRO nvme m.2 drive as the primary boot drive to get the most speed out of it and for future upgradability

I bought the inspiron deal, but this one XPS has a 2TB drive which is worth the extra $40 (compared to the 1TB I got)

Also, my casing isn't that quiet (it maybe because I swapped out hte 1TB drive with the 2TB drive)… there is an annoying vibration from the spinning disk vibrating against the casing (my previous case was a silencio)

Also, this case just looks a lot neater inside.

I have always been an XPS fan since the first M13 XPS laptops! T

Don't get me wrong, the inspirion is a good deal, but had I had the choice, I would buy the XPS for the silence, neater design and more front ports including the useful SD card reader.

    • Doesn't the Inspiron come with a front SD card reader too?

      • not on mine (Inspirion). It is USB-C and USB 3.1s and an audio hack.

Also no Optical audio out which I used with my logitech 5.1 system
